Robert Zemeckis has made many of the most beloved films ever, across multiple generations. But something about his new work doesn't have the same magic as he used to. In this video, I give a (relatively) brief description of Zemeckis' journey to where he is now, and set out to answer the question of what the last truly great Zemeckis movie was.

Interesting video. My favorite movie of his is the frightners. Its sad that his more recent fare seems so soulless and joyless considering how delightful some of his past work is.

It’s the best Robert Zemeckis movie that was actually directed by Peter Jackson.

@@charleskarr219 omg was it? Thanks for the correction.
Edit: omg you're right. He and fran Walsh even wrote it. Why did I think it was zemekis.
Edit2: ok per horror wiki, "Peter Jackson and co-writer Fran Walsh conceived the idea for The Frighteners in 1992, during the script-writing phase of Heavenly Creatures. Together, they wrote a three-page film treatment and sent it to their talent agent in Hollywood. Robert Zemeckis viewed their treatment with the intention of directing The Frighteners as a spin-off film of the television series, Tales from the Crypt (which he helped produce). Zemeckis hired Jackson and Walsh to turn their treatment into a full-length screenplay in January 1993". Weta even did the effects. It was one of their early projects.

Meryl streep and Goldie Hawn at their campy best. He had a knack for bringing out such great performances in real flesh and blood actors.
