Stage 1 is the first of the 10 Stages and marks the beginning of the future Pyro mainâs adventure in Team Fortress 2! The Pyro player has tried out a couple of other classes and heard that Pyro is a good class for new players, so they switch to Pyro and they think theyâre ready to dominate in TF2! Unfortunately, Stage 1 Pyro players are usually just cannon fodder, and they havenât figured out how to use their flamethrower properly. They don't have much success playing Pyro as they're new to the class, but they're still enjoying using the Pyro's Flamethrower and airblasting enemies around! After a few hours of playing on different maps in TF2, the amateur Pyro player is ready to move on to Stage 2!
Stage 2 represents the Pyro playerâs struggle to actually reach the enemies before getting picked off. They try to achieve this by playing ultra-aggressive, not caring about their life or health in any way, and being blissfully unaware of enemies and allies around them! The future Pyro main either doesnât know what airblast does yet, or used it by accident and thought it was a glitch! Whatever the case, the Pyro is still desperately trying to get in range of the enemies, but it seems like the entire enemy team is out to get them. They run in and go down to a sentry, a sniper, a heavy, a scout, a spy, a soldier, a demoman, and an engineer! However, the Pyro player eventually manages to reach the enemies and light them on fire, and they might even take a few of them out! This small victory inspires them to keep playing TF2, since theyâre still enjoying their Pyro experience and slowly improving each time they respawn!
At some point, the Stage 3 Pyro will start experimenting with a range of different weapons and loadouts. They donât really see the point of the Degreaser, rarely using the airblast and never pulling off combos, at least not deliberately. They love the Backburner and think itâs a straight upgrade to the stock Flamethrower since they donât use airblasts anyway. They saw an enemy Pyro decimate their team with the Phlogistinator yesterday and saw other players complaining about how broken it is. They tried it out and think its an upgrade, but they almost never live long enough to build up the crit meter or use the crits effectively. If they actually manage to use their crits, it tends to go horribly wrong!
They tried out a couple of the shotguns but gravitated towards the Scorch Shot instead since itâs fun, easy to use, and makes them feel a lot more useful. They also tried out the Thermal Thruster but canât quite get it to âwork properlyâ, and they tend to jetpack way too aggressively into entire groups of enemies. In the end, the beginner Pyro player usually ends up using the Flamethrower and the Scorch Shot since theyâre easy and fun to use. The Pyro player has also picked up a few mismatched Pyro cosmetics and looks hilarious, but they havenât got a âfavourite loadoutâ just yet!

The 10 Stages of Every Pyro Main - Hry
pyro is a shit class bro play soldier or scout or demo or medic and then youâll actually get decent at the game đđđđ
True when i was a noob i decimated the entire enemy team with m+1 no airblast or shotgun i got called a hacker
Ayo chill bro, its just your opinion. I bet sometimes u pick pyro cause the team needs it
Nah pyro is a good class
your opinion is wrong
@@TruthWizardTemplar7 pyro is a monster if u know when to time airblast and know to use secondaries
one thing to note is that no matter the stage, popping stock uber on any pyro will instantly lobotomize them, forcing them to press w and m1 until the uber ends and they become cognizant again
as a pyro player i can confirm
Soldier in my team:"MEDIC WHY DID YOU UBER THE PY-"
Pyro I ubered:(becomes ooga booga w+m1 and actually destroys the Sentry Nest)
Soldier:"oh that's why?"
Itâs like a neurone activation for me, if I get ubered all I can think of is w + m1
I'll admit, I feel an unresistable need to compensate the fact I am not a heavy and do as much damage as humanly possible
As a pyro main, when the Medic ubers me all thought empties my head except "w; m1; maim; murder; kill" and I'm not responsible for this reaction
Stage ten: W+M1 with the stock, dies, repeats: what a Chad
Itâs not easy getting 8 kills with one click of a mouse and spontaneously explode into gibs
W+ M1-ing in style
Or puff and stings the entire server
that me
stage 11: learn how to code in the Source Engine so that he can equip a scorch shot in each weapon slot
Nah, stage 11 is change the code so the reserve shooter works on Pyro airblast

I started playing pyro because the idea of playing a class (almost) everyone hates for being "unskilled" and being a general nuisance called out to me. While I'm nowhere near good or even average, but setting the enemy player on fire and making spies suffer make me love it.
Use scorch shot as well, man! You won't regret that)
Yeah I just thought it be a fun class to main when I started playing a few days ago, especially for a trackball mouse user lol
I love providing assist for some of the stronger classes/players who know what they're doing, not going for kills if I know I can't get one but at the very least weakening the enemy for other teammates to finish the job.
I love running in, blasting a couple opponents in the face with fire and running back into cover if there are teammates nearby, basically sort of a scout pyro I guess
Also I have fun as a 2fort sewer rat defense Pyro, helping defend the sewer entrance to the base with a couple other people and trying to take out as many with the Neon Annihlator (or again, being there to help assist by weakening any intruder and doing spy checking) as I can to really be annoying
Is dragons fury good?
@@cheekythemonkey4739
its a good weapon but one unlike all other flamethrowers in both strengths and weaknesses, it melts buildings and if you can aim and track well with projectiles then you will melt your enemies too but you sacrifice anti-spy and airblast capability.
I don't use it because bad aim and unreliable internet but thats me
Me too
Stage 11: even other pyros don't dare approach you because you've already crit flared them once and you can absolutely do it again.

My journey with pyro started out with the dragon's fury, as back then I generally disliked the class because I thought it didn't require aim. Over time though I started to give the other flamethrowers a chance and after seeing all the insane things you can do with airblast, I truly fell in love with the mechanic and the class itself on top of the incredible mobility of the detonator, the satisfaction of setting enemies ablaze and instantly meatshotting them with the panic attack, and the surprisingly great pair that the manmelter makes with the dragon's fury imo
I'm an airblast junky, me personally I run the det with df but manmelter is also pretty good. I don't tend to pick up new stuff very quick compared to others doing the same so it's good to see at least I'm not alone in learning with the df
Sometimes I use the det with the dragon's fury but I really like having a dual-focus in support and offense even if closing the gap is way harder without the det, although i still love using it along with the degreaser for axtinguisher gardens
@@DatsKipOmANiHaVeAch4nn3l I mostly use it to pre emptively ignite enemy gamers and occasionally for the escape, after a season of comp and a lot of casual play the det is probably the most versatile secondary item that pyro can use right now
Damn, man, to try and fall is the half of the fun. Tutorials are good but... then game became like the actual job, bland and routine.

As an ambassador of the pyro main community, getting a reflect on a crit rocket is the best feeling.
Or when you walk into room you see soldier and in that split second you manage to reflect rocket killing him
â@@realdragoneven better when there are more enemies and that soldier's crit kills the whole room
Iâd like to think I skipped a lot of these stages because whenever I pick up a new class I tend to relentlessly watch tutorials for it to expedite my learning. When I watched your flare gun and reflect videos, that stuff put me waaaay ahead and I can frequently top leaderboards. Keep up the good work man!

I'm on stage 6 with only three hours. Yippee!
Iâm on stage 4 with 600 hours. Someone for the love of god help me
â@@vuelle9816 I think I've got around 800 hours as Pyro and I still don't know how to detonator jump đŠ
Im between stage 5 and 6 with 8 hours of gameplay on Pyro. I like being a pybro, I main dragons fury / stock (i switch between both depending on the enemy team and map), manmelter and homewrecker. The only reason I cant move up to stage 6 is because I really REALLY suck with airblast...
Iâm a Pyro main and Iâm on stage 4 right now with 23 hours on Pyro. I hope to make it to stage 10.
Ayo same
Backburner is pretty awesome in payload. You can air blast as much as you want since the cart has infinite ammo and itâs pretty easy to find mercs to kill. Pair it with the detonator and powerjack and you have one awesome flanking loadout
I love thermal thruster on upward. Sometimes enemy team doesn't see me flying and I can crit 5 people at once with backburner
Same here, as I pretty much skipped right to using the Dragonâs Fury.

I donât think Iâd ever go full evil because I always try and spycheck and play pyro as support, but man I donât think Iâve ever successfully reflected a rocket in my 500ish hours.
I got some good practice in my 1st 10 hours against a soldier who kept firing rockets across the open space in Fort incessantly.
The tutorials donât keep me from dying a lot but i can see that they are setting me in a good direction in the long term, thanks for the tips
Iâve got over 1,700 hours in the game, and have been playing for 7 years. About 700 of those hours are as pyro. Heâs my main, and watching this was absolutely spot on. Honestly felt really nostalgic watching this seeing how my time in the game progressed and how well you nailed each stage. Made me feel like I had just started the game for the first time. Amazing work!! Canât wait to see your next videos
as a pyro main, you usually, subconsiouly pick up the firing speed and time of the direct hit, and its easy to reflect if they dont swap to shotgun/have teammates around; and a reflected crit is *the* best feeling in tf2
This was surprisingly accurate! I have 150 hours on Pyro and I'm still so bad. đ I learned Degreaser combos straight away with Pyro so I never really developed game sense and instead spent a long time playing a purely defensive playstyle where I would protect engies, medics, and snipers with my combo skills.
Recently I switched back to using stock flamethrower and threw in a Panic Attack too and it's been working well for me.
I have over 70, hours, I've mainly been honing my reflect skills (although I'm still quite bad) because I love helping engies. The fact that I have a strange homewrecker that counts sappers destroyed doesn't help lmao
I got a bit over 85, and more than half is me helping protect my engi's, mostly using the panic attack and stock.
It's amazing how many people go at a pyro and try to run after seeing they aren't just W-M1, especially scouts, tryna work on the puff and sting, while still tryna get a degreaser. Overall, cheers in ya'll firey journey.
Were do I get good at reflecking
I'm at 430 hours so we'll see if I burnout, my hope is that I don't. I was one of those pyros that got burnt out on playing only combo pyro for so long so now I use the stock or a combination of the bb or df with the jet pack as of recently. Good quality edits as always Pirateer

amazingly accurate. I'm 50 hours in and your video almost fully captures what I feel like playing pyro!
Very glad that you finally finished this video, I can see why it took you so long :D I can't wait for the next one.
đđđđđ
I just hit 100 hours this week, and to be honest, your description of where I should be now is surprisingly accurate. Can't wait to see how far Pyro takes me.
I became a pyro main when I first downloaded TF2 and clicked random. For my first 5 kills I redirected 2 rockets into a group of 5 people. Instantly fell in love with the mumbling fire retardant man and have been trying to recreate that high ever since to no avail.
no skill pyro main
When I was still a beginner at the game, and was starting to get the hang over pyro, I used to think that since the airblast consumed a somewhat bulky chunk off of your ammo, as opposed to the primary flames attack, it was supposed to mean that it was by itself a special attack that did more damage as opposed to the flames, but in reality it just pushes them backđ(except if you're deflecting rockets and grenades at your enemy, obviously)
First things first, congrats on the new video release! Cant wait to see what you plan to do in the future!
Now onto what type i am, i would say a mix on stage 3 and 4 since i like using the different weapons, and still try to practice relfects.
LMAooooo i love how i also have that pyro haduken dab mod installed haha
on a serious note, this video is really wellmade, good job!
The only other guy who did this was WAMO and well... I don't think he passed stage 2...

As I watch this video I've realized how far I've come and how accurate this video is. Not too long ago I started messing around with the dragons fury, a weapon I used to hate using, going on uncle Dane servers and subscribing to more tf2 youtubers. It's wild how accurate this is. Thank you for this video
It is finally here the day I have been waiting for! Cheers to you mate for making this absolute banger of a video. Much love (platonically)
I picked up pyro because he was the only one I could reasonably do well with on my potato pc. 30 hours of gameplay later I've lowered all my graphics settings and installed an fps config, and things are acceptable for me to play other classes. Depsite this I pretty much cycle between Solider, Engineer and Pyro. I currently use the Dragon's Fury, Scorch Shot, and the Axetinguisher reskin (like a mailbox, I can't remember the name). I haven't gotten trash talked too much for using the scorch shot, but I feel bad using it sometimes.

Something weird that happened to me is that I essentially was always fascinated with Airblast
Before playing Pyro I watched a Pyro guide and it said that Pyro has a lot of things to do all the time and that airblast should never be underestimated
And so I always wanted to learn how to airblast. I do like W M1 but I don't like the Phlog in the slightest, I much prefer the Backburner since at least I CAN Airblast in emergencies.
I'm not very good at airblasting (specially since I'm always lagging) but it is the only reason I play Pyro
ofc lagging pyros can skill get kills because it takes no aim you just wing your mouse around holding left click for kills. try that with scout ,sniper, gun spy and you will die SO FAST
I love the gameplay in the video love your work.
Glad we got someone to continue the series. Great video. I'll send Hamaji the video to see what he thinks

I will use the degreaser every now and then, but the fun when you mass clear a tight room full of the enemy team is fun.

YES YES YES, ANOTHER VIDEO THANKS MAN I ALWAYS LOVE UR VIDEOS :D
Pyro threads the line between a heavy and a scout. High sustained dammage and great for moping up weakened enemies. The unsuspecting part of the pyro is that he can airblast while shooting flames. It really surprises the enemy when a pyro does that.

Pmd2 time gear theme. Love this game so much! Glad Pirateer does as well
Seems so accurate! The only part I think was inaccurate was how they stop W+M1+M2 at stage 7 as I learnt combo pyro(Shotgun secondary, not flare or detonator) on stage 3.
Iâm creeping up on 200 hours on the class, and stage 7 is pretty accurate. I love the degreaser and panic attack, but Iâve recently tried out the flare gun. Itâs fun and all, but itâs a pain in the ass to fight other pyros, and I never hit the same high that I do with the panic attack. I experiment here or there, but I always end up going back to my go-to. Great vid
You see I was stuck in the phlog phase for a bit and had a friend who was a comp medic but even then I learned. It was quite a bit of fun and I still go back every now and then
this is so dumb pyros are all the same because they have no skill and gravitate to the most unskilled weapons like the phlog
â@@TerekFilms you havent heard of the flare gun users it seems
Finally a proper pyro 10 stages vid!
I'm happy there is finally a good 10 stages of a pyro main video.
Iâve been waiting for this one
I gravitated towards 4 classes when I first played. Demo, Engi, Pyro, and Medic. However I always felt like I wasn't doing very good as Pyro. And after buying all the weapons (on marketplace, not the TF2 store luckily) I realized how versatile he was. But sadly stuck to Phlog, I did however LOVE the flare gun. Actually got decently good with it. But never resisted braindead MMMPH. But then I stumbled onto pybro. I grabbed the wrecker and started protecting engis. Spy checking and removing sappers. Then realized how powerless I was against soldier. So I went back to stock and started practicing airblast. Now I'm practicing that along with degreaser combos. While every class has nuances and important skills. Pyro has such a wide variety of playstyles and niches. I wanna prove he isn't just a w + m1 easy kill.
The PMD gang appreciates your choice of background music for stage 10. Very cool.
Finnaly acctualy well made video made by someone who acctualy understands the class, the complete opossite of the 2 count em 2 videos that wamo made
Damn, Iâm a new Pyro main (only 2 hours) and this video made me feel awesome about my pyro skills, thanks
Informative! And also funny.
I want to master every class eventually, but Pyro as a character is such a freakin' weirdo, and thus my favorite.
There was this one time when I was playing pyro, I got ubered, surfed some knockback (this was on badwater), landed right next to the payload cart and killed everybody.
11:30 this clip where the soldier follows the pyro down with intent to kill but is willing to play rock paper scissors with him is just wholesome
I always come back to pyro when I feel like there's just too many enemies around. A little backburner ambush and that pub push is over and I can finally breathe again.
I started quite before THE degreaser nerf and THE axetinguisher nerf (don't quite remember the year now) but I've gone through only two of the stages you listed... I know it's not a serious generalization, but still... I picked up the class specifically for the amount of possible combos... As soon as I unlocked the degreaser, flaregun and axetinguisher, I equipped them and began training to combo with them, eventually alternating them with more niche or more powerful secondary weapons after mastering them, while training airblasting in airblast servers...
Iâve always played as a team mate humper, I find some one usually a heavy soldier or demo and stick close to them letting them go forward and start the fights while I push in and create a distracting ball of chaos around the enemyâs. It works well and makes me friends
I remember my phlog stage, I started using the flaregun and degreaser afterwords, but the axetinguisher can go BURN IN HIT REGISTRATION HELL. (I still use phlog lmao)
Just hit 400 hours on Pyro and I can definitely say Iâm in a transition phase between stages 7 and 8. Been playing a bit of Scout recently (Iâm not good at all) and Medic is my secondary main.

New pirateer video pog
I feel as if these stages of (insert random character here) main are perfect in the way you order them but I find that the amount of time played on each class doesnât represent the stages well because if youâve seen enough videos of a specific main you can have some decent game sense but other than that this was really spot on, very cool
Nice to see I'm currently around stage 6, now that I'm good enough at reflecting, i think it's time i learn to det jump (gonna be hard to not have the panic attack tho)
detonator is incredibly fun. imo hitting crowds with the detonator is even more satisfying than with the scorch
I flawlessly pulled off a ctf 2fort in less than 4 minutes yesterday as pyro
I remember playing pyro a lot, besides other classes, i have approximately 1k hours in TF2 overall, i die to bots from training right now, but god, i remember actively playing when Jungle inferno happened, the Dragon's breath, i was just destroying everything, i wanna come back, the moment when class is trailer accurate, this maniac surely makes me feel the feeling that doesn't exist
I just realized that i actually went through some of these stages, i remember deflecting medic's crossbow proj and was so happy about it that i took my friend to idle server and started just deflecting everything in the game for pretty long time
That moment when the pyro stops chasing the 8 health engie and immediately starts focusing the spy that uncloaked for 1 second
I remember playing with the phlog seriously without switching loadouts for the first time and i managed to carry my team in payload by pushing the cart at the last minute. I wasn't on the top of the leaderboard, but i got some compliments from the enemy team.
Just started playing TF2 and quickly grabbed onto Pyro, so now I'm in the airblaster stage! :D
Usually playing basic flamethrower and scorch shot because I love bullying snipers but the panic attack is a life saver against other pyros
my experience with the game was weird because i started out only reading about it, meaning i knew about the game when i started, and then i played tetragon fortress on roblox before finally moving on to tf2, and even after that i still play tetragon fortress and tc2 regularly. because of that my playtime for most classes in tf2 is like 6 hours or something.
I did actually got into the habit of air blasting off the edge that was fun but the someone did the most sickest safe i ever seen
LESSGOO, thisâll be fun
