Chris Gaines was a fan from Australia who disappeared without a trace after attending a Garth concert! His family still grieves & are looking for closure!
It was exponentially better than anything Garth has written himself. Not Chris Gaines fault you don't understand masterful pop songwriting. Maybe go revisit the Beatles.
Strange, bizzare, confusing, talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before...
He may well be. Had a roommate in the Corps around '90-91 IIRC that was in a band, said he saw him doing metal before he popped up as a country singer. Said he absolutely blew ass at the time.
As much as he tried, he couldn't disguise his voice. I remember radio stations playing games, who is singing this song. Garth and Donnie Osmond both tried, I got both right, you can't disguise well known voices to die hard fans.
I loved Chris Gaines Music.. Lol for real and thought it was an awesome story. Love his country music and can't hate the music he made as Gaines. I'd like to see a second album
I had the Chris Gains album. I'm a big Garth Brooks fan so I knew it was Garth Brooks as Chris Gains and it didn't disappointed me because as I said I was and still is a Garth Brooks fan. I still have the Chris Gains CD and love all the songs on that CD. The song writer for the Chris Gains CD. It reminds me of David Bowie when I was a kid and he did the same thing when David Bowie had his alter ego Ziggy pop!! My mom had both albums. Man I'm telling my age.!!🤣🤣 oh well I just turned 51 New Year's Day 2023 and I'm proud of it!!🤣🤣🤣🤣
I loved the Chris Gaines album, I thought it was incredible, I don't care what anyone else thinks. I made my husband by the EP, when it first came out and as soon as the album came out I bought it and yes I own all the Garth Albums too
I loved Garth as Chris. A real fan would love him no matter what. I am a big fan of both. Everyone has a side they would like to try and Garth did that great. You go Garth!!
Lmao.....he is a glorified kareoke singer, he had very talented writers who got him hits, he writes nothing, he was a bullier in high school ( thats says alot about who he really is) , He has limited singing ability, limited talent and cant get a top 10 hit now if his life depended on it!!!! He onky has his old music left to rely on!!! New crap is just that crap!!!
You can hear ppl’s ignorance of creativity when they scream their opinions. The idea was amazing, n only Garth could’ve pulled it off. Why couldn’t he be able to show off his abilities/talents?
Finding out the album was supposed to help launch a film called "The Lamb" (that never got made) where Brooks stars as Chris Gaines kind of helps it make more sense, but it was still weird.
“Lost in You” is one of the most hauntingly beautiful songs ever. I play it often, and the video too. Actually like it better than GB country. Trisha Yearwood once said the Chris Gaines CD was actually her favorite.
Garth Brooks created a character for a MOVIE. Why would that be bizarre? The album that was a pre-sound track for the movie (that did not get made) went double platinum. Hardly a failure that you would want people to forget about. Listen to the music it's very good.
I actually liked the idea that he had an alter ego and would have really liked to see what could have been with the movie, not so much with him as a lead character playing the character when the original album was released, but maybe him as Chris Gaines drops from public life, and merges into an older character that Garth could play as a retired artist living outside of the lime lite, maybe have someone like Tanor Egerton, however you spell his name, playing Chris Gaines. He did a pretty good job as Elton John
I actually loved the Chris Gaines era. When I first saw his "Lost In You" video, I kinda looked at him trying to figure out where I knew him from. When I looked closer at his face and started thinking of him in his videos and television appearances, I realized who he was, my eyes got wide, and I was like, "NUH-UH!!!" I was interested to see what he would do with the character, honestly.
I bought the CD and wore it out. The album is good. Really GOOD! The Tracey Morgan comment seems to me to be an indication of the problem. He couldn't pull off the physical transition. Garth looked like a sexy Ben Stiller but with a gut. I was really hoping he would have been able to pull it off.
I Just loved this CD I wore it out. Listen to the music. The album is fantastic. I always thought Garth just wanted to do something different n the establishment of country music didn't want him to. Hence his alter ego Chris Gains.
Listen, while you're watching this video about Chris Gaines, remember that every piece of it was created by Garth Brooks' mind during a psychotic break from his real personality.
"Right Now" contained the chorus of The Youngbloods' 60's classic "Get Together" over bizarre rap verses; though I like both, I actually prefer The Youngbloods' original.
I don't think it's bizarre at all of a musician trying to take his music somewhere else. Also we've seen actors play singers or other artists many times it's not bizarre at all I think it's more of a reflection of Goth fans refusing to let him be something else.
Ironic, I don't consider myself a country music fan, yet LOST IN YOU, his one and only pop/rock hit, is a Gem amongst Gems. So, am I a Chris Gaines fan? Or a Garth Brooks fan?
😢I just reordered the CD to listen to it again to see if it was as awful as people make out it was after all these years. The music is fine! Nothing for Garth or his fans to be ashamed of.
I think it’s really sad how the country music audience treated Garth for this. Like, it was clear that he wanted to be able to make music of different kinds. But he knew that as Garth brooks, he couldn’t release music that wasn’t country because people wouldn’t except that. So he created the Chris Gaines character so that he could explore other music. So that he could create some alternative rock music that he wanted to explore. And the fact that people wouldn’t let him get out of the country music box, that’s really kind of sad. I think if you’d of been in this year and trade it, I think more people would have accepted it, but at the time people just didn’t understand
Apparently people in the Asian in black community like Chris Gaines I don't know if it's because they didn't really know much about Garth Brooks so maybe they were fooled or what but I've done some research around in yeah hes pretty big with that community shockingly
You know.........................i still think that "the lamb" can still be made. Just have garth brooks sign on as a producer, and as far as an Australian goes to play Chris Gaines well,......take your pick, since Hollywood has a dozen of Australian actors over there. Maybe ryan kwanten or dacre montgomery can pull it off, i hear liam Hemsworth isn't doing much these days............
I actually love the idea of him doing this kind of musical marketing odyssey. It's an unusual idea in a land of sameness. Too bad the studio didn't come through.
Let em go Garth, they have families.
👖
Keep feathering it brother
@C C hahahaha love this comm 😂
Oh noo , his pee pee is stuck in buttaa, oh no
Please Garth!!!
Chris Gaines looks like he should of appeared in Zoolander as an extra
Goth brooks
Who is here after the inauguration because a Chris Gaines was trending?
I find it amusing when people act like they really know entertainers. People know an image these people portray, and that’s it.
Well put
do you know where Garth has the bodies buried then?
Basically he was Keith Urban before Keith Urban was
OMG!!! U said it! True!!!
I still want this movie.
why?
@@toddfather420 right? There was never a movie lets be honest.
So do I. The music was great. If only more artists would take risks and expand their musical horizons beyond what they are known for.
Garth Brooks' (Goth Brooks) 'Chris Gaines' is J.K. Rowling's inspiration for 'Severus Snape' in the Harry Potter series.
I own the CD. If he was to tour as Chris gains I would have went to see him. I loved it. Cleaver concept !!! ❤
Thank you for doing this. Love Garth. Loved the Chris Gaines concept.
This story is so much more convoluted than I anticipated. What a wild ride.
Where are the bodies, Garth? The families need closure! You monster.
Chris Gaines was a fan from Australia who disappeared without a trace after attending a Garth concert!
His family still grieves & are looking for closure!
That’s truly sad. I’m just learning about this and possibly more missing.
That is not true.
I really do wonder if he took on the Gaines persona to deal with the ptsd from him and Ms Yearwood committing all those murders
What murders
Yeah what murders
Where are the bodies Garth? Tell us the truth you monster!
I think this is the match that ignited the serial spree...
Wtf???
This inspiring as hell lmao! Garth is a freak and I love it. 💯
"Lost in you" was the shit quite frankly. That's all...
It was exponentially better than anything Garth has written himself. Not Chris Gaines fault you don't understand masterful pop songwriting. Maybe go revisit the Beatles.
Definitely
I actually went through THREE Chris Gaines CDs.... that is how much I loved and played them. I thought it was some of Garth's best music.
I loved this album too. People just hate on it for no reason
Loved it as well. Lost in You, Digging For Gold, Upon Main Street. So many great ones
Google play music doesn't even have them available... Kind of a bummer I just watched the Netflix special and it reminded me of all that.
Me too. I'm on my 2nd. Know all the words. Love the cd. Can't stand to hear someone call it a joke
Ive only had to buy two. Lol
I'm from Brisbane Australia, I'd still love to see this film :)
Strange, bizzare, confusing, talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before...
Murder is another adjective I'd use for Garth.
Where are the bodies Garth! The families need closure.
'Fornicopia'... Björk is pissing herself for not making that.
So is Anthony Kiedis
The Chris Gaines project is the most brilliant piece of music ever. Forget who sings it, listen to the music. It’s incredible.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Great music on an album that went double platinum.
Cause every Pride parade bought it
it was 20 years too early, if he had finished the doc first and released them around the same time in 2020 or 2021, everyone would eat it up
@@johnapple1136 Where can I get my hands on the cd?
I did a speech about this in college in my speech class. I loved this album.
@Jon Harris shit rock of course
It was his best
Hey how do ya know that Garth Brooks isn't the persona of Chris Gaines......just thinkin
Very true, CG sounds like his real name
He may well be. Had a roommate in the Corps around '90-91 IIRC that was in a band, said he saw him doing metal before he popped up as a country singer. Said he absolutely blew ass at the time.
It didn’t help, the whole thing had a background that didn’t even begin, which makes the whole thing more confusing.
As much as he tried, he couldn't disguise his voice. I remember radio stations playing games, who is singing this song. Garth and Donnie Osmond both tried, I got both right, you can't disguise well known voices to die hard fans.
Chris Gaines was brilliant!
I need to see this movie finished 🤷🏾♀️
I love the idea of this.... I'd love to have an alter ego like Chris Gaines
@@internetcomments950 Wow... never thought of that, It would explain all the missing time...
@@internetcomments950 trippy dude...
I wanted to know why I bought this CD. I was sober. I'm shocked. Thank you.
I saw him through the fence. He was feathering it!!!!!!
Please come forward. It will help the families that have been torn apart.
cool stuff, slick stuff, neat stuff
I loved Chris Gaines Music.. Lol for real and thought it was an awesome story. Love his country music and can't hate the music he made as Gaines. I'd like to see a second album
WHERE ARE THE BODIES BURIED, GARTH?!?!?!?!
Hey jeans
Wait what’s going on I keep seeing comments like this
@@cami71213 look up your moms house podcast lol
yesssssss
I love that I always see Jeans in any comment section about Garth.
Alter = Split Personality = Demonic Possession (MK Ultra or Bourne IDENTITY)
The music is actually really good
Keep it feathered brother
What if the real alter ego is Garth, and he was trying to come back as his real self Gaines, but everyone hated him.
I loved the music!
The narrator said, “I’ve went.” Dear God
Plot twist: Garth Brooks is the alter ego
I had the Chris Gains album. I'm a big Garth Brooks fan so I knew it was Garth Brooks as Chris Gains and it didn't disappointed me because as I said I was and still is a Garth Brooks fan. What's with the picture of Fred durst at 2:25
😂😂 good catch
He's also Fred Durst from Limp Bizkit. (Who is Chris Gaines's alter ego. The 1990s were complicated )
Wait. Is that was actually Fred Durst?? I was trying to figure that out...
I had to start this video over three times just to follow this story. Tf...
Me too 😆
I loved Garth as Chris. A real fan would love him no matter what. I am a big fan of both. Everyone has a side they would like to try and Garth did that great. You go Garth!!
Ditto that album was wonderful--LOST IN YOU is one of my all-time favorite love songs. What he did was brave. He is a very talented man.
Lmao.....he is a glorified kareoke singer, he had very talented writers who got him hits, he writes nothing, he was a bullier in high school ( thats says alot about who he really is) ,
He has limited singing ability, limited talent and cant get a top 10 hit now if his life depended on it!!!! He onky has his old music left to rely on!!! New crap is just that crap!!!
He’s insane…
thats why most country music fans suck. they think him trying a new sound was “weird” when it was some of his best music
Some beautiful music came out of "Chris Gaines"......REGARDLESS of how you feel about him.
True. I was 18 back then.
Looks like Ben Stiller mocking Garth Brooks
You can hear ppl’s ignorance of creativity when they scream their opinions. The idea was amazing, n only Garth could’ve pulled it off.
Why couldn’t he be able to show off his abilities/talents?
Chris Gaines also Chris Angel😂😂
He didn’t find a musician biography trope he did not like lol. It’s like the Dewey Cox story but he was trying to be serious .
I actually loved this and admired Garth for doing it pure entertainment.
@@acousticsound7 No disputing that is was odd but I thought he pulled it off pretty well .
Garth is a murderer, he has bodies in low places and he does resemble kevin costner and costner starred in the serial killer thriller Mr. Brooks
Finding out the album was supposed to help launch a film called "The Lamb" (that never got made) where Brooks stars as Chris Gaines kind of helps it make more sense, but it was still weird.
This type of viral marketing of an artistic project would have worked in the 2000's. He was just slightly too ahead of his time with the idea.
RIP Tommy.
Pretty brilliant and ambitious actually, and a decent album.
“Lost in You” is one of the most hauntingly beautiful songs ever. I play it often, and the video too. Actually like it better than GB country. Trisha Yearwood once said the Chris Gaines CD was actually her favorite.
I missed all this. This is all news to me.
Give the families closure....
Soo..he wanted a life like Hannah Montana by night, Miley Stewart by day...
Garth Brooks created a character for a MOVIE. Why would that be bizarre? The album that was a pre-sound track for the movie (that did not get made) went double platinum. Hardly a failure that you would want people to forget about. Listen to the music it's very good.
I just watched a short doc that confirmed what ur sayin but they stated that the album flopped pretty hard and resulted in it being shelfed for good
The whole thing is bizarre. Garth Brooks has some issues.
I like the Goth look! Go Chris Gaines!!
Goth Brooks?
Jesus Christ how do we let this maniac roam free?
And here we are. Today Garth announced Chris is coming back!
They only reason the movie didn't come because they wanted him to play Chris Gaines but he couldn't do it
😂
Talk about a midlife crisis
I actually loved the Chris Gaines era. When I first saw his "Lost In You" video, I kinda looked at him trying to figure out where I knew him from. Hahaha That’s all one could say in that moment of realization “huh-uh!” Lol I can hear myself saying it too!! Lol
@@elizabethstraight2050 That's almost a clever way to come out without coming all the way out.
So Garth Brooks ventured into comedy... cause that is funny as hell...

Not shocking, really. Hearing things!
"Right Now" contained the chorus of The Youngbloods' 60's classic "Get Together" over bizarre rap verses; though I like both, I actually prefer The Youngbloods' original.
Actually, those rap verses are timeless. The song is like "What the World Needs Now" combined with " Abraham, Martin and John".
Maybe he got the idea from Eddie and the Cruisers? Love that one! Movie and music
Still love this. Sounds like Babyface. Brilliant
I don't think it's bizarre at all of a musician trying to take his music somewhere else. Also we've seen actors play singers or other artists many times it's not bizarre at all I think it's more of a reflection of Goth fans refusing to let him be something else.

All his music is good the garth and the gaines
I have the cd. I actually liked it.
The record went double platinum. This is easily researched. It didn't flop...even though that doesn't play well with the story you're trying to tell.
Ironic, I don't consider myself a country music fan, yet LOST IN YOU, his one and only pop/rock hit, is a Gem amongst Gems. So, am I a Chris Gaines fan? Or a Garth Brooks fan?

That’s not true. The alter ego was more about Garth not wanting to hurt his image than the fans not accepting him.
