Thank you Jay for all you do for Quest owners, especially people new to Quest and VR. There is so much junk for these headsets out there, these fly by night outfits that just want to make a quick buck by putting out horrible products. Unfortunately, so many come out of China but I would imagine some are from other locations as well.
The famous saying "Buyer Beware" sure applies to these but the fact of the matter is, a person new to Quest might not know good from bad, you highlight this and call a good product from a bad one which is a great service for new and even veteran Quest users. You put the products through your suite of tests and let the people see for themselves your torture tests of products and which pass and which don't.

I was an Amazon Vine reviewer and had some just like these in black with the USB-C in the center. Those were just advertised as battery packs for charging a phone. They are a cumbersome design that don't really work on a phone with a case. They could be charged with USB-C or an Apple Lightning cable but could not charge an iPhone without buying a Lightning to USB-C female cable. For a Quest, it needs an extended cable USB-C female to male cable and a mount to the rear strap. They would just be too awkward and the S3 is just so much better. The companies that put out that battery design just keep trying to find a market for them.
Before bobovr s3 I used freethink battery dock hotswappable 18w. I still use it by mounting to the side of any headstrap. It's great when lying down.
I'm leaning towards getting the Bobo with the fan. I get soaked in vr and thinking of upgrading from WMR to quest 3
I got one a couple weeks ago and really like it… my fan can be heard but its not super loud unless maxed out and even then you can hear it but its not like it cant be ignored… overall its a huge improvement in comfort and worth the cash in my opinion
@@helix149 how are the quest speakers? I heard the headphones port is under powered and I know my friend has bad latency issues with Bluetooth on his quest 2.
@@xathridtech727 I was honestly impressed. Its better than what i expected (cheap amazon no brad speakers). If u cover them with your hands sound get better so worth investing into some 3d printed cheap covers.

I went elite-style strap with the Q2 but there's seriously no reason not to go with the bobo S3 pro on Quest 3 (unless you can't afford it obviously)
The battery swapping is awesome, the fan makes a very noticeable difference (it's been very hot in scotland lately) and it sits very securely on my face without the wobble I would worry about on a normal 'halo' style strap.
Only just got my 2nd battery today and it's been great being able to just VR all day by swapping between them. Still waiting for the fast-charging station but honestly they do the job already, it'll just be nice to not have to plug the USB in when swapping.

I sometimes forget the lil fan is on until the battery runs out or I take it off to switch, at which point it suddenly hits me how much it's been saving me from the heat XD
The Elite Battery Strap from Meta is the best! A big plus is that the headset will accurately display how much power is left in the strap and the headset it self.
How did that get out of the design phase?!

I received a replacement elite strap battery from meta after they reached out without asking. I was using a third party battery extender after my original strap had its cabled chewed by my guinea pig (only set her down for 2 min while I cleaned her cage). I’m not a long play session person usually 1-2 hours so it all works out for me but know people have issues with finding solutions. I also have quest game optimizer and opt for highest refresh, resolution, so I don’t get sick, so that drains battery.
It would be a good idea to get a strap to go around the battery and arm of the quest to give it support instead of just dangling.🤷🏼♂️
i seen them on uk amazon but as you said the balance is wrong and heavy movement and or it falls or trop would damage both quest and battery so not very safe
I have the new bobo vr with the 10000 mah batteries but for more sitting down comfort using the Q3 I have the apple vision pro headstrap on my Q3 with a 10000 mah battery that hangs around the neck. Its actually a very good battery. The last battery pack I have is a 10000 mah that belts around the waist, I dont use it often but it works good and its good for standing vr gaming sessions.

FWIW 15 watt hours is nothing to do with the 18 watt charging. 15 watt hours is the battery capacity. The quest 3 has an 18wh battery inside it, a bobo S3 battery is about 37wh iirc.
Again, nothing to do with the charging speed here.
Although it might have just been a misspoken moment since the batteries also do charge at 15w.
I wouldn't recommend these battery packs. They put so much stress on the USB-C port, and your facial movement will actually contribute to the stress as well.

I bought a m2 plus recently but the headstrap has one side abt 10cm longer then the other, now its sideways.
3:27 not even for emergency, if you have a light headstrap I would have a wire that goes to a battery in your pocket
I have no plans to get a battery pack since I play for less than 2 hours at a time but I still watch every one of these videos for some reason lol
Its nice to keep up with tech. At some point when battery degrades u will need to buy a battery pack. For now I keep tethered for longer sessions.
Yep, that thing is just ASKING to get knocked off, breaking at least the battery, or worse, your headset. I think I'll just stick with BOBO
It's interesting that you're at 99% doesn't the bobo only charge to about 85% to save the life of your quest battery?
Hi, for me the best solution is like the vision pro has . I wished the stock battery from the quest were outside and easy replaceable.

Imagine a billion dollar company, making the quest 3 (which i own along with a beyond and an index) and they couldn't be asked to QC and test the WIP HMD's to make sure it came stock with a decent battery, wonder if the Quest 4 will have a worse battery life tbh.
Just do yourself a favour, Save for the BOBOVR M3 Pro.

I have much smaller black type c similar batterys 2 of them i always plug them in before i start and i get maybe an extra 45 minutes of gaming out of them
