Thanks for this tutorial! I've been looking for a good teardown and reassembly on these things. I have some spread beams and want to mount them horizontally instead of vertically. Looks like its as easy as popping them out and rotating the assembly.

    Well done Chris!
I've been sitting on a pair of those that I picked up at a yard sale a while back, they were practically given away at $2!!
I plan to install them on my 87 Ramcharger after its back on the road....one day.

wow. excellent price. Real KC's? I've actually bought 2 different knockoffs out of curiousity and they are NOTHING like the kc except the basic look.

I have found that Windex also works great at keeping the housing clean.

23 year warranty on the lights. they would have replaced that leaky rusted lens for you. the daylighters have been fine for me. i had some of their apollo lights and moisture got in them (not water) until the silver reflector side of the lenses were peeled off. They replaced them for me. Anyways, i've also tried these with HID kits and they're amazing in the spot lenses (yours are spots) if distance is what you want.

I know this videos old but i have a question im hoping you can answer. When you split apart the lens from the reflector was it glued together like a normal headlight or is it sorta crimped around the plastic lens?

they dont need to be upgraded.. just wire them up right.. I have a wiring a relay in real life video where i show them at the end.. they are very very bright..at least try that first before spending more money .. mine have H3 halogen bulbs that pull 9.2 amps
