- In this video I'll show you how to run and install the wiring for offroad lights such as these KC brand lights. Of course it would be the same for any kind of lights including LED, Hella, Aux lights, or just regular fog lights.

simplified, straight to the point, no additional time waisting talk..good video.
FINALLY!!! A video that is SIMPLE, TO THE POINT & EASY to follow for a novice like me! After watching this, I now know for sure I can do this on my vehicle!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!
Very well done! Organized, easy to understand, good demo including camera angles, no BS fillers which waste time... I'm both pleased and impressed, thanks for a great "How-To"!
Thanks for the great video. Definitely easier to understand than reading how to wire.
Is there anything this channel hasn't covered? I was about to take my Jeep and have someone else install those lamps until I saw this video and thought, why don't I just do this myself? So that's what I'm going to do this weekend. Best Jeep Channel anywhere!
Thanks! The only video on CZcams that shows someone how to wire up an aftermarket light. Very helpful. Thanks again.
I appreciate the family friendly videos. I am part of a Christian Off Road Club and I love to share your videos and the fact that you keep them "clean" means a lot to me. Thank you for all the good info and keep up the great work.
thanks for sharing!
Straight forward, with good camera angles. No extra shilling bs. A little bit of humor thrown in. Thumbs up.
This video was done very well. You made the esoteric easy. Definitely a fan here.
Hello: You look, talk, and act like Mr. Rogers. No Offense. He was a great guy.
It's a wonderful day in the neighborhood
@Busted Cat it's not even a comeback
Excellent, straight-forward "how-to" vid. I just got a set of KC Apollo spots, and I'm getting ready to install them on my JK and I am very confident doing so after watching your video. Thank you for taking the time!
Best KC Light installation I've yet to view. Thank you.
Great vid, straight to the point tutorial! No wasted time, and thanks for actually showing how to do everything on camera. Thanks for the help!
Dude you are awesome. I just bought a 91 XJ and all of your videos are helping me with everything that I have wanted to do it. Thanks for all the videos. keep up the good work.
Best videos on diy truck stuff on CZcams
Thanks so much for posting this vid. You made it look so easy. I followed your install instructions step by step. Took me an hour!
Thank you! I purchased some kc lights and they did not come with instructions this video is going to save me a ton of time! 🙏 🙏 🙏
Awesome video, all the other videos were explained poorly, confusing, or made it look complicated. But yours made it seem like the average person can do it easily in an hour or two.
Thank you so much!!!!!

This was an extremely helpful video. I was able to install my lights without any help other than going back to the youtube video from BleepinJeep. In fact, I bought the lights after seeing the video because I was convinced I could do it myself.
Keep'em comin' for Wrangler YJ. and THANK YOU!!!
I bought a wiring harness from KC because of this fine video. Thanks, Matt. Jim
thanks for watching bro!
Matt you are such a nut in a nonchalant way, i love your videos keep it up!!!
bleepinjeep Haha, exactly what i was getting at there haha but that works too! and in all honesty i hooked up my led light bar on my Cherokee today and i just bypassed the relay and used a wire with a fuse on it and it works amazingly
I am really happy there is someone who made a video of thos matter! Thank u so much you made my nervousness go away
Damn this was the frsit video i ever watched over a year ago when i got my frist jeep. Still watching and still loving the videos man…
Perfect, thanks for the always quirky but always super-useful videos! I'll be wiring those same ones into my YJ this weekend.
Thanks enjoyed watching you put your lights together. I am getting a Wurton bar fitted next week and looking forward to the difference it will make. Glad to hear that you can set them up to hi and low beam setting..makes sense. Didn't take you long if you know what your doing. From Oz.
Thx man. This will help me wire Hellas 700ff onto my Volvo semi truck.
Awesome! I just got my first pair of spot lights for my KL Cherokee Trailhawk and I'm really excited to get them wired in.
Awesome presentation. Simple and easy to understand. Thanks
Mr. Moe
Great video. Thorough, complete and useful. Thanks a million.
I loved the way he explained it his a good teacher thank you!
Mucho thanks for the vid. Santa brought new fog lights/light bar for my TJ and your explanation/direction is perfect!
Thanks for such a comprehensive video! I'm new to adding mods(just finished CAI) to my 'Mall-Rated' JKU; this will def help me change that status!!
Gotta love old KC's there like angle halos on the font of what ever you put them on!! 😇
Very informative and well done. Short and to the point. Thank you
You explained this install and made it so easy that it took me less time to install than it took you to show how o the video. Kazoo”s to you .
sweet, thanks for watching!
Just in time... Hooking up my KC's tomorrow! Thanks for the video!
I had to come back to this for a second viewing bc I didn't understand the relay.... And why you need it. I argued about it with my self if I needed it or not... Lol then I learned about them and well now I'm back. Great videos. I have a '70 scout in which I'm doing my own mods to. In fact I spotted your chain step on one of your rigs... I'll be doing that this weekend. Once again great vids....
Nate Karr you dont have to have the relay but most switches arent designed to carry much of a load and they will go out, not to mention having 12volts coming into the cab all over the place is not a good idea and may lead to shorts/fires.
Love your vids and none of that boring stuff!!!
Great video. Very helpful. You de stressed me about these lights. Gonna give it a go. Thanks again, nice job!
Great video man. I watched so many times while waiting for my kc lights from Amazon that when they arrived I installed them without looking at your vid or instructions. The white wire now has a doo dad on it out of the box lol.
Excellent video! One of the best I've seen on CZcams. Just bought some killer LED off-road lights (Dash Flash NIGHTBLASTER) and this will be a big help.
Nice video. Simple and informative. Thanks. You answered the questions I had with the grounding.
thanks Bought a front bar and 3 KC 151 6 inch lights looking forward to mounting every thing up when the Bar arrives in two days
Great video. Thank you for your "to the point " instructions.
Enjoyed the video getting my fog lights Friday
Simple and to the point!! Awesome! Thanks!!
Great tutorial! Really good if someone has never done this before. But just a little wisdom, always disconnect your negative terminal when doing electrical work! I once shorted a ratchet across terminals while removing a negative to do some work, it welded the socket onto the ratchet, and welded the mechanism in the ratchet solid. Just a little advice.
Great video just ordered mine today thanks
Thanks for a great video! Going to tackle some KC Hilites for my JK!
Thank you. Great helped, you the best Matt
Taking the anxiety out of my life! You are awesome.
Great 👍🏽 job Mr Matt.
ya, thanks for the comment and the sub!
This is a good vid. I've been meaning to add some cheapo lights to my TJ and too many vids just say "Then run wires through firewall and hook to switch", I hate that. Thanks for an informative and CLOSE UP look at the steps instead of a shaky lens from 6 feet away.
I used a self-tapping screw to mount the relays for my XJ's headlight harness to the passenger side fender near the battery (where the cruise control setup is on vehicles that have it), and one of the radiator support bolts for the ground.
Subscribed on 1 watch - great stuff!
Great video man, very helpful thanks
Great Job,matt
Best instruction I've found so far. I am having a problem with CREE LED lights and need to better understand the need for a "relay" since the lights came with no instructions other than RED is positive and Black is negative. My rocker switch is the same as yours and the LED light is on when the outside LED lights are off... Can't figure out the wiring issue.
Think of the relay as the actual on/off switch, while the switch inside the car is like a remote control for the relay. You could theoretically wire it exactly the same way you wire a light switch in your home, but then the switch and the cables to it probably would need to be thicker, and since the car only has 12 V (compared to 110-230 V at home, depending on what country you live in), you would also lose a lot of power because of the longer cables. With a relay, the power can go a shorter way from the battery to the lights, and the switch just controls the relay's on/off.
This was really helpful! thanks!
great work bro. Better then the ones I see n utube
made wiring so simple! thanks
I must say your videos are really great. You can put things simply and you go straight to the point, I really dig it. That's what the "jeep spirit" is all about.
I just wanted to ask you one question though : why do you connect the wire that powers the switch to the battery and not to the fuse box (like you did in the video about the dual batteries wiring)? Couldn't you have done that? And if not, why?
***** I'm not sure what I did in this video but this one explains everything in more detail: czcams.com/video/49I9YAn1oQg/video.html
Thanks man very helpful
THANK YOU!!!! Made it so easy!
Great video 👍🏼
Super helpful! Great teaching.
Great video. Seems I could be able to do this. (Fingers crossed lol) what KC lites are these? Model# please. Thanks!

thanks for watching!
Cool video thanks!
That helped a ton bro thanks
Good video, thanks.
i believe you just solved my problem on why my lights would not turn on, i had wires sticking out of the ground and battery part, so i just have to clamp them instead and hope they turn on.
thanks man, i try
maybe so, keep me up to date
This is a pretty good video for people with just a little of electrical knowledge.
awesome thanks. So any relay should do?
Helpful. Thank you.
thanks man that was great!!!
YOU SAID YOU MADE YOUR OWN DO DAD.. I CRACKED THE HELL UP LAUGHING. AND I HAD TO SUBSCRIBE.. OH.. AND I PUT SOME FOG LIGHTS ON A BIG RIG BOX TRUCK WOTHOUT THE FACTORY WIRING ARE THE SWICH.. I MAD MY OWN AND THEY NOT WORKING SO IM GONA TELL THE OWNER TO PURCHAS A NEW PAIR THAT COMS COMPLEAT!!
ahhhh, dang, that reminds me. I have to wire up my lights. I got one of those cool glow switch boards that fits in the ash tray in the XJ. it has 4 switches.. hmmm I better get on that. Recommendation on the XJ for a place to put relays?
You know what your talking about and make a good video thanks for the hlep
I'm just here for the soothing voice.
Nice and clear. I'd like to put fog lights in the empty fog light bays on my '08 Patriot North (5spd manual) can you post or direct me to one? Nice channel.
Don't forget to check local laws when installing. Some states require covers, some require being wired into the brights or dims (depends on the state). Some have limits on the number of lights you can have.
When buddy put lights on his truck, he used a solenoid designed to run a heater on a school bus, lol. Needless to say, it handled the current draw fine. ;)
This must be busted knuckle garage very believable video true knuckle busting is great LOL keep up the good work
hey nice work! can u make a video on how to install the rocker switches for the jeeps??
Hey awesome video it really helped a lot. I have a light bar and need to extend the black and red wires that go to the lights. What is the best way to do that? Thanks
The description is awsome lol.
You did it all without dropping the "F" bomb.....Bravo sir.
Will you make a video (or if you already have one) were you change the rough country harness to a custom switch?
I forget what the number is but snag some form an XJ next time you are at the junkyard. It will be very difficult to make the entire harness though but I bet you can find one online or from painless. if you go through my website you might can get some kind of discount
