When you write a song like this and you're the 3rd best writer in the band. That's the power of the Beatles.
But Ringo had the taste to copy the best, Buck Owens.
3rd most prolific writer maybe. Iâll take Harrisonâs catalog over Lennonâs or McCartneyâs.
@@Zseventyone hey i know its just your opinion, but george doesnt hold a candle to either one of them lmao. Hes still a top 10 songwriter of all time, but paul and john are 1/2. The amount of good songs Paul has written is almost literally uncountable

The most famous quartet in the world
THE BEATLES
ummm, the Prince version is the cover. My heart stopped when you asked is they were British. The most influential and important and creative band in history. Ever and ever
Yeah a bit stunned by this and feeling somewhat historic!
This is an obvious cover as well. This is not the Beatles. It's a Portuguese cover band.
he's got to be pulling our legs. Either that or he's lived in a monastry all his life
Relax bro
For real âŒïžThe BeatlesâŒïž? How could you not know of them, even today? They were first, hitting the USA from Britain in late 60's HISTORY was madeâŒïž Dive into their history, Awesome âŒïž Yes, Paul was a member.
George Harrison of the Beatles wrote this. Itâs the original. Princeâs version was a tribute to George.
This is not the original. It's not even the Beatles. It's a cover. I'm baffled by how many people on here think this is the original recording.
@@thewizard6077 this is literally a george harrison song i know the beatles songs that are covers and i've never heard this one was

âAre they British?â
Short answer, Yes! ⊠Long Answer YEEEESSS!
They led the British Invasion (British Rock in the US) in the mid 60s! - They are from Liverpool
And yes, that is Paul (Oh, you just said, Excuse my ignoranceâ lol)
The Beatles are regarded as one of the best groups of all time.
I was so shocked by that question. What the hell.
@@dani4ever I canât imagine it because I grew up listening to so many different genres of music (country to opera!). I was born in 1973 so the Beatles were before my time but I definitely knew who they were.
But I am learning that not everyone is like that and they grew up only listening to one type of music (that is what happens when you take the arts out of the school!!) It is a real shame but it seems much more common than I thought.
At least a lot of these reaction youtubers are finally getting to realize what they were missing!
But are we sure the picture of Paul was not Angela Landsbery?
@@sixpakshaker88 I LOVE her so much! đ
I lol when he said that too. Bless
Lol. Yes, Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr - The Beatles. Wrote some of the best music ever. Love this one, written by George. You could get a list a mile long for Beatles songs either as the original group or the individuals in their solo careers after their breakup.
No joke. It's a staggering collection.
@@MrKeychange 300 songs in 7 yrs. I have the sheet music in a song book. Their music is breathtaking when you go through all the chord choices and harmonic complexity. All this and their songs sound so accessible and simple. Pure genius.

@@rachel-in-the-208 I think Quincy either might have been going through dementia or maybe he had a falling out with Paul in the 80s during Thriller.
This is the original recording- by the Beatles with Eric Clapton on guitar. Beatle George Harrison wrote the song and sings it. Itâs on their Abbey Road albumin â69.
The Beatlesâ influence on pop, rock and music in general is immeasurable. No two songs of theirs sound alike- they were always evolving.
It's on the white album, not abbey road
WHITE ALBUM!!
And Layla by Derrick and the Dominos resulted. Clapton and Harrison were friends at the time, so Clapton recorded the lead to While My Guitar Gently Weeps. That was later overdubbed onto the album recording. During that time, Clapton fell for Harrison's wife, Pattie Boyd. He wrote Layla and recorded it with his band. Boyd eventually left Harrison and married Clapton.
@@lumina1104 BTW Eric was best man at George and Pattiâs wedding and George was best man at Eric and Pattiâs wedding.
Yes, written by Harrison and on the White Album. But I'm not sure this is the album version. It sounds like an alternate version.
Since you like this one so much, another Beatles song by George Harrison is Something. Too many great songs by them to list, but hereâs a start: Yesterday, Eleanor Rigby, Penny Lane, Iâm the Taxman, A day in the life, Helter Skelter, Get Back.

George wrote some beautiful songs
George is my favorite Have always loved his songs. They are so simple and so beautiful. Something is an exquisite song.
I didn't like the Beatles at all until my early 40s..Now...at 48 I love almost the entire discography!!!! WISDOM?
The Beatles were brilliant. I remember when they came on The Ed Sullivan Show for the first time and completely blew our collective minds. The Beatles are most definitely British. Their music holds up to this day. A remarkable accomplishment.
Dude. Hip hop guys know who the Beatles are - they transcend genres.
This is still my favorite Beatles song. The Beatles is the group where the term "The British Invasion" comes from. It's also where the term "Beatlemania" comes from. The group had Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr as members. This song was written by George, and he got his friend Eric Clapton to play Guitar on it. Unfortunately, the Beatles is another group like the Eagles who are very protective of their music, and tend to get it taken down as soon as they notice it.
The Beatles lost legal rights over most of their repertoire and copyright strikes usually comes from those holding the commercial rights on the other end.
The song "Hey Jude" is one of the few McCartney bought back the rights for and doesn't get strikes even on lyrics videos.
"Here comes the sun" was bought by either Michael Jackson or Warner Music and always gets striken because it is frfequently licensed for TV commercials.
The worst in all of this is that most of the time, the bad reputation still falls back on the artists because streaming services don't tell the public in general wwho called for the strike =(
@@RadeticDaniel I actually looked it up before I posted. Apparently, Paul McCartney was able to get most of the Beatles Catalog back in 2017, due to a law allowing the original artists to claim their music after 56 years. Sony, who owned it at the time, settled with him out of court for an undisclosed amount of money.
No worries on having this one taken down, because it isn't the Beatles. It's an obvious cover.
WOW!!! when you think you have Heard everything and then you hear "wait is Paul McCartney with The Beatles" I have no words.
Dear god man. It's a crime that someone with your sense of melody and intellectual capacity hasn't been exposed to music that was literally MADE for someone like you. If you give me your email, I will send you everything. No strings. If you want to react to some, I can star off a few to save for the channel, but just please take me up on my offer and give yourself this.
They're the most popular band of all time not just because of hype; they're incredible.

Geez, now I feel ancient
And yes, the Beatles are British

Yes that is Paul Ringo George & John
Now I'm checking heart rate to confirm I've not passed from ancient to deadđđ€Ł
Wait- HOW do u not know the beatles?!? They've had the biggest musical influence for the greater part of half a century and their music is timeless. I'm baffled!
They were born in Liverpool, England. The song was written by George Harrison. George is singing and he is the lead guitar in the group.
The Beatles have something for everyone. There are no words that can explain their ability to connect to the soul. They simply must be experienced in order to understand.
I feel like I'm watching an archeologist discover a relic from a long lost time. Yes, this is the original. Yes, Paul McCartney was part of the Beatles, & yes, they were British.
hahaha Right? It's like watching someone who's eaten only processed food, biting into a perfectly cooked skirt steak for the first time. There's a "Wait... WTF IS THIS?" vibe that's priceless. đ
LOL. I almost choked when he pretended to not know they are British. Yeah, okay.
This is not the original. It's not even the Beatles. It's a cover.
I'm having trouble understanding how you don't know the Beatles. I'm sorry....having alot of trouble wrapping my mind around this. They influenced the the best writers and musicians on the planet for the last 50 years.
Im pretty sure he's playing dumb on this one.
different genres, different tastes and interests. the interesting thing is that the music transcends the divisions, even though even the version provided here is a well done cover and not the Beatles!
Beyond being the most influential band in history, they are the biggest selling musical artists of all time, and no one else even comes close. And the version he reacted to isn't the Beatles...it's an obvious cover by a Portuguese cover band .
Maybe because they disbanded over a half century ago?!? I know, I feel the same way.
@@Crypt0sis I donât know. He is older than he looks. He said he was only in his 30s plus he grew up on hiphop.
I know it is difficult for some of us to fathom ⊠but it is plausible
I guess that I was born too early and have lived too long. I don't think that I have ever heard anyone ask the question "Was Paul McCartney in the Beatles?" And, yes, the Beatles were from England. The Beatles were the most influential band in the world. The Beatles consisted of Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. They were formed in Liverpool, England and their music spread throughout the world throughout the 1960s. At almost any time during that decade, you would find Beatles songs on the Top Ten Playlist of every country in the Western World. This particular song was written by George Harrison and was one of his most beautiful productions. The band's good friend, Eric Clapton played the lead guitar on the studio version of the song. The reason that Paul looks so much younger in this video was because it was from over 50 years ago. We all change with age. But Paul and Ringo still tour and have great solo careers.
Just occurred to me he might not know Eric Clapton either, and that Eric too is English.
The Beatles were the first modern music Superstars. They borrowed heavily from Black Blues and Jazz artists. And in many way they forged Rock N Roll's path to where it is today.
This is the original, recorded by the Beatles in 1968 on their white album.
Itâs NOT The BeatlesâŠ..
This is not the original and it's not even the Beatles. It's an obvious cover. You might want to re-listen again.
The beatles still hold the title of the best selling artist of all time over 50 years after breaking up. The most influential and biggest band of all time just google it! Yes paul was in the beatles along with john lennon george harrison(he wrote this song) and ringo starr
Iâm kind of old, and I had a lot to learn about the music from before I was born or was too young to recall. I know youâll enjoy your journey, too. The Beatles do get blocked from reaction videos, so have fun listening to them anyway. You wonât regret it.
Showing your age asking if the Beatles are British Beatles were George Harrison Paul McCartney John Lennon and Ringo Star
The obvious intelligence on this man so apparent in many of his videos, and he asks, "Wait...are these guys British?"
Great song! Yes, Paul McCartney was a Beatle, along with George Harrison, Ringo Starr. and John Lennon.
Just a suggestion, replace the screen saver with something static, it's very distracting.
I AGREE that thing gives me a HEADACHE!!
This is just one of so many great songs by them....
In the 1960s there was a few bands that came over from England to America like the Beatles And The Rolling Stones call the British Invasion they were heavily inspired by Blues therefore creating Rock songs that were easily able to cross over
A few of the early Beatle songs you could react to without being blocked would be when they were on the Ed Sullivan show. They were on there a few times in the early 60's and played 2-3 songs each time. This is where most of us in the USA first encountered their music.
Remember it so clearly even though it was almost 60 years ago. Wish I still had my Beatles trading cards!
Apr 10, 2012 Prince, Tom Petty, Steve Wynwood, Jeff Lynne and others perform "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" at the 2004 Hall of Fame Inductions. This is a great live performance.
It'll be the best song you've ever heard until you hear the next Beatle song. Then that will be your favorite.
This is the absolute true statement.
Wow~ I didn't think there was a soul on earth left who hadn't heard of the Beatles! Or didn't know Paul McCartney was part of one of the most famous bands ever! Welcome to the future Mr. Boyd! Here comes the sun, Elenore Rigby, I am the Walrus, Hey Jude (that was a huge hit), Blackbird, Let It Be, Get Back, Revolution (probably the rockiest song they did as well as Helter Skelter) wow, you have a LOT of catching up to do my friend!
This is not the Beatles version, but a very close cover and a good performance.
That "Prince" cover as you call it, was actually a supergroup with Paul McCartney on keyboards and a who's who of guitarists, including the son of Beatles George Harrison, for whom they were all paying tribute.
Having the lyrics handy as you commonly mention is nice, but having a webpage such as wikipedia for the group/artist and the song itself would have given you a lot more to react to. You can open those after the song and we can see you actually react to learning about the song and group/artist.
song you need to hear Paul McCartney: let it be. John Lennon: imagine , George Harrison: My Sweet Lord and Ringo Starr : photograph great songs
It doesnât matter what works you come from, if you know anything about music you know the Beatles as the most influential band of all time.
True, although this isn't the Beatles, it's a cover
Written by George Harrison RIP, guitar by his good friend Eric Clapton.
Gotta love the Beatles
I can't even tell how shocked and old I'm feeling that you didn't know the Beatles. lol I actually watched them live on Ed Sullivan. Such a part of music history.
Dude you gotta go deep into The Beatles my friend. You'll love the journey
He HAS to.
For me, EASILY top three song of all time. Period. George Harrison is one of the most underrated musical geniuses of all time.
This is my favorite Beatles song. The Beatles are the best selling group in terms of album sales of all time.
You would love visiting Liverpool. Yes, most things are Beatles themed in some way, but itâs an amazing city for live music and has some stunning music venues. The atmosphere is electric, and the hospitality is great. We have been 3 times in recent years, and can never get enough.
Prince was a tribute to George and this original version
This is not the original and it's not even the Beatles. It's an obvious cover. You might want to re-listen again
Beatles led the British Invasion into US then came all the rest, 60s.
Eric Clapton on lead guitar making that guitar wail!! đ„ Keep in mind George played lead guitar in the Beatles.
Watched your reaction of the tribute at RnR Hall of Fame in which George was honored posthumously making him an inductee twice. Clapton is only 3-time inductee.
Winwood, Prince, Dhani Harrison, Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne, plus. The latter 2 formed the group Traveling Wilburys with George, Roy Orbison and Bob Dylan.
Absolutely my fav Beatles song...written by the "quieter" one.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. And can appreciate Prince's performance even more. đ„đđœđ
Yes and yes. They were/are British and yes this is one of the most beautiful songs and yes the Prince solo was one of the best I ever heard. But Prince played his at a tribute concert for the late George Harrison, the youngest of the Beatles, who wrote the song and also did the vocals on the original with Eric Clapton on the lead guitar, the rest were John, Paul and Ringo all Beatles at the time.
George Harrison wrote this song, Paul McCartney & John Lennon sharing their writing credits, Harrison didn't get into writing songs until a few years into The Beatles rise to fame, some of his early songs are "Don't Bother Me" & "Taxman" but later "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" & "Something" became his best & most popular songs.
After the breakup of the band, he released a 3 LP solo album entitled "All Things Must Pass" which included a number of songs he had previously written while in The Beatles, but either didn't make the cut or were never considered.
Some of my favorites are "My Sweet Lord" "What Is Life" & "Isn't It A Pity" & the album title track "All Things Must Pass" which he pitched to the band in a scene in the Disney+ "Get Back" documentary.
Also, he covered a song called "Got My Mind Set On You" which became a hit in the late 80's which peaked at #1 on Billboard's Top 100.
Love it when he asks "Is Paul McCartney from the Beatles". Is the sky blue? Great song as usual from the fab four
Yes, Paul was a member... would love you to react to a Beatles song Oh Darling....Paul kills it!!!!!!
this is the original track. all 4 of the Beatles wrote songs for the band, this one belongs to George Harrison. as some of the other comments have mentioned George is singing and Eric Clapton is playing the weeping guitar. the Beatles were a force of nature and their influence is still felt today all over the music industry. Paul McCartney is the one of only two members still living, the other being Ringo Starr. John Lennon was murdered in 1980 and George Harrison died from lung cancer in 2001. i'm not surprised the songs get blocked. you couldn't even find them on CZcams until a few years ago because of copyrights, and we are talking about they broke up in 1970 having been active for only 10 years. they are true music icons.
This is a cover
@@thewizard6077 George Harrison wrote the track and the Beatles recorded it at Abbey Road.
The Beatles were the most popular band in the world for good reason.
Yes, Paul McCartney was one of the original Beatles, the greatest band of all time. He was in his teens when he joined the band. He was the primary songwriter for the Beatles and therefore, wrote some of the best songs ever written.
They were all teenagers when they formed (except for Ringo Starr who came later). The English equivalent of the garage band in the US.
Pretty sure this song specifically was written by George Harrison
@@hunterwakeland8101 Absolutely written by Harrison!
Well, Paul joined John Lennon's band the Quarrymen. This band became the Beatles.
He was not the primary songwriter; he was one of the two primary songwriters. Neither of which wrote this classic.
You're right on the rest of it. đ
There are thousands of amazing bands out there, from all kinds of genres and countries, but the Beatles will always be in the 'Top 10' (if not #1 IMO). They experimented and did things that no one had done before, expanded & blew our minds with their simple brilliance. They did covers but also wrote a ton of their own music. That is probably the reason they get blocked so much: they are still that popular. I've been a fan since I was 5 years old (55 now) and my brother would let me pick songs to play on his records. 'Help' is my all-time fav. Love your reactions, but the blocking is frustrating for us all. Keep exploring their music whether you can post a reaction or not.
Didn't Michael Jackson buy the rights to their songs?
I think this is the most spiritually aware songs Iâve ever heard⊠And more relevant today than ever before
My Dad likes I'm a loser by the Beatles. He said as a musician it is a difficult one to play instrumentally. He actually met them in the 60s when they were still called The Silver Beatles. When Pete. Best was still with them.
I've always wondered what Pete Best has felt like living as the "almost" drummer for the Beatles. I truly hope he's had a good life.

âExcuse me. I come from the world of hip-hop.â - Iâm gonna say that, without The Beatles, hip-hop (and damn-near all other music since â70) doesnât exist in the same way.

And again we hear why Eric Clapton is considered to be one of the best guitarists in recent history.
It shows (to me) Clapton's ceiling could have been even higher in a band where he was just the lead guitarist. Guys like him have the worst egos sometimes. I give Van Halen credit for understanding the power of blending talents.
Meh.

Anyway my first time on your channel and I appreciate your comments very much indeed. Best regards from Québec city , Canada.
About the strikes: The Beatles lost commercial rights over their recordings a few decades ago, with many going to auction.
Some legal right's holders allow for more derivative works than others.
Paul McCartney bought back rights for "Hey Jude" and "Let It Be", for instance.
While songs likke "Here comes the sun" ended up in the hands of music record labels who put it to use on TV commercials and strike down CZcams videos.
All that aside, if you want a pair of original and adapted version of a Beatles song, try "With a Little Help From My Friends".
The original version from the Beatles is kind of room temperature for their top hits, but we are talking about a band with over 300 songs after all.
And the adapted version from Joe Cocker is just sso different in arrangements and execution that just calling it a cover doesn't make it justice. One of the few times I liked another version almost as much as the original =)
The Beatles'' company Apple Corps owns all of the Beatles' recordings. The song publishing was with Dick James/Northern Songs until Dick sold the rights, around the time the Beatles were splitting up. The publishing was later purchased by Michael Jackson and is now owned by Sony. Paul owns the publishing for only two Beatle songs, Love Me Do and PS I Love You. These were the songs recorded before they signed with Dick James. George left Northern Songs right around the time While My Guitar was recorded, so he owns this song and later songs. Of course Paul still gets paid royalties from Sony for his songs.
@@debjorgo l thought Paul regained the rights a few years ago? That's why the entire Beatles catalogue was finally allowed on CZcams.
@@RS-ni3lj Details are a little hard to find. Wiki says "McCartney and Sony agreed to a confidential settlement in June 2017". You'd think that meant McCartney owned them now, wouldn't you? Except when you look at the Let it Be release in 2021 where it says "All tracks written by Lennon-McCartney and published by Sony Tunes ASCAP. All songs administered by Sony Music LLC except (the Harrison tracks)". So you tell me.
This song is always in the top 3 for me from The Beatles; the songs around it switch depending on my mood and what is happening in my life but I think this is the closest they came to making a flawless song. The kind of song you would never hit next on.

This is not the original and it's not even the Beatles. It's an obvious cover.
The Whie Album has always been my favorite Beatle's album.
While My Guitar Gently Weeps is on the Beatles double White album, not Abbey Road. Year of release 1968. I was 18 years old. It is so interesting to hear young people react to the music I grew up with. The Beatles caused worldwide cultural revolution. It was an amazing time musically. Most music of the 1960s was frankly pure drivel. Back then I was an aspiring art student/hippie lol. There are very few musicians from that era to make such a worldwide impact. Good job sir.
I love this song
One of my favorite songs not just Beatles my favorites atop any and all genres
My favorite George compositions : It's All Too Much, Something, Here Comes the Sun and While my gitaur Gently Weeps.
prince did the cover as well as a host of other singers. George Harrison of the Beatles wrote it. they were the British invasion of the 60s! the Beatles are Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Ringo starr, and George Harrison. Eric Clapton played guitar on this song too.
My favorite song.
This is not the beatles, it's a tribute band
It sounds the same because one does not ever try to change a Beatles masterpiece. It simply would be disrespectful.
They led the British Invasion of the 60's, Prince didn't do this song, he was a guest guitarist.
You should hear the acoustic demo of this song . No bells and whistles, but twice as dark and haunting.
Or at least listen to the original by the Beatles. This is not the original and it's not even the Beatles. It's an obvious cover.
Yes Paul is from The Beatles as well as George Harrison, John Lennon & Ringo Starr. They have sold more units than anyone in history
Comment of the Century so far "are the Beatles British".
Yeah, whoever holds the rights to the Beatles doesn't fark around. The Beatles are Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr(Richard Starkey). Worth checking out, even if you can't do it on the channel, at least everything from the Rubber Soul album onwards. They were the first band to get so big that they could pretty much do whatever they wanted, and they put out some of the best music possible after that over just 4 years time before they imploded. McCartney would go on to found a new band, Wings, which was quite successful. George Harrison was also successful afterwards. Lennon would be successful up until he was assassinated by a crazy fan in New York a decade later. And Ringo was successful too I suppose, but he was always the most boring of the four.
Coming from the world of hip hop is also no excuse not to be exposed to the Beatles, probably over half the hip hop artists list them as an influence, everyone from the Wu Tang Clan to Kanye to the Beastie Boys to The Roots.
George Harrison, who wrote this song, was big into Hinduism and Yoga and I Ching and all that, and got the rest of them involved too, and started the whole new age Guru/Chakra/Yoga/etc. craze of the 60s and onwards.
What you saw with Prince playing the guitar was a tribute to George Harrison of the Beatles. He wrote this song. Eric Clapton is playing his guitar in this record.
That is not Eric Clapton playing the guitar, This is not the original and it's not even the Beatles. It's a cover.
A society with no empathy - that is what we are and I thank the Beatles for saying it to our faces in hopes to influence society into a more decent thought frame
