This is from Clewiston to River Ranch. We only stopped in for about 2 hours for a break and resupply but had to break this section up into 2 videos with the amount of film. Keeping a trip log over on our Instagram page @elevenskys if you wish to see exact mileage for each day.
Haha y’all spoiling us. KER-plunk that’s what we call the Florida false step. Just knocked this section out. Mosquitoes took the spiders place.
Yo be honest Im starting to think the lake to sea trail should be the starting point until the southern section gets more put together. I do know it was recommended as the start point this year. Most people I don't think bother much with the permits in the future maybe it'll be more important when a more people are on trail. It is picking up but only recently have people actually started knowing the FT exist. Just have to throw this in here the construction on the west portion may actually be a good thing. I believe it may be part of ongoing projects to restore the flow from the lake to the Everglades which is good for the Everglades, the lake, and the lagoons the lake is frequently discharged to on each coast. So it's sucks for hikers but it's good for the environment.
Hey guys... beautiful Saw Palmetto plants and large trees. I feel like I'm going to burst if I don't get down to Florida soon! Freedom the Parrot and I normally road trip to Florida once or twice a year, but skipped 2020, with the pandemic. Big laugh on lost being just a concept! I've been lost in the woods before in New Jersey. Believe it or not, Freedom and I would get lost just driving, prior to smart phones. If we made a wrong turn, seems like the people who provided directions had no clue what they were talking about! A 5 hour drive to Orlando would turn into 8 hours! Thank you for filming the alligators! Whoo hoo! I wonder if that was a tracking device on the gator that had something attached to his back? My next filming trip has got to be in the Everglades, and then visit Miami Zoo. It is awesome to watch the hiking trail unfold. Hogs might be more dangerous than the alligators, holy mackerel! 36:40 Sandhill cranes, most people confuse them with blue herons, a completely different bird.
Those boats could be from some of the hurricanes from that had come through last summer! Very interesting indeed!
And tell Hardy he can post a vid or two 😅 unless I got the wrong Hardy channel 😆 us viewers greedy for more Constantine hiking content 😁

36:31 is a Sandhill Crane. They are protected

I have tried asking him!!!! Maybe you would have better luck haha, both Hardy and I keep teasing about how much he would be loving the Florida Trail! As of now no he’s not joining on any but the invitation is always open and I’ve told him that many times so who knows after he sees how many swamps we have had to swim so far on the FT he might have a change of heart :)

yes we are around mile 770~. sorry about lack of videos have everything filmed but 1) we have been rarely stopping in towns and the more frustrating and more critical reason is 2) with the new film set up all my files are being exported as MOVs and CZcams hates uploading them.... it literally took 20+ hours just to upload (1) video.. the most recent one that I will publish here as soon as it finishes uploading
Not really a hawk it's an osprey, good guess though they hunt the rats and 🐍in the cane fields.
the florida trail doesn't look to intresting so far ...
