- Spend quality time with Phabeni at the orphanage and consider adopting him to help us raise and care for him ✨🐘🍼
Adopting an elephant is a gift that makes a valuable and tangible difference on the ground. While we do the work in the field, you can do your part at home, in the spirit of love.
When you become a foster parent, you’re contributing to the care of your adopted elephant. You’re helping us to provide your adopted elephant with everything they need to be healthy and happy.
Foster parents will receive an adoption certificate and email updates on their adopted elephant, as well as other special benefits.
You can adopt Phabeni or another member of the herd here: herd.org.za/adopt-an-elephant/ ✨🍼🙏🏽
Adopted the little guy shortly after he arrived at Herd. He seems brighter here. We all just want him to to be completely well. There is no doubt Setombe ADORES her son and Klaserie her brother. The entire Herd care deeply about this little bull and we know his human family are doing EVERTHING possible to help him reach his potential. Love, Respect and Appreciation to you all and Doc Rogers and his staff. For those unable to contribute financially, your love, care and prayers are so important too. Thank you Everyone who is supporting Beni and the entire Herd 💙🐘💙🙏🙏😊
The best way to start my day is watching my beloved pachyderm Phabeni.
I'll help them when I can.
im not even gonna leave a comment, yours say everything, i love this community here !!!!
I agree☕️☕️
I feel the same way & I too love Phabeni, Herd, Adine, & this community ❤❤❤
Been saving up and I'm going to adopt one of the herd for Mother's Day in memory of my Mom ❤️
Thank you it is a wonderful thought
What a Lovely thing to do. 💙🐘🙏🙏
What a beautiful gift that will be. Quite fitting somehow, isn't it ? 😊
Sweet idea.
What a beautiful thought and gift
Thanks very much to all here and to the formidable Herd workers. Hi Phabeni ❤️ get better soon. Hi khanisa ❤️💕. Hi all elephants 🐘❤️
..."the formidable Herd workers". Formidable your vision too, dear person @candidaprout560👏👏👏 Without the dedication from these workers (Adine include)I don't know... greetings from south of Brasil 🤗
You need to get younger people on board. I get the impression that many fans and contributors are older and retired and perhaps of limited means. Yours truly does his best but I wish I could pay for the solar system outright or even spend some time at Jabulani, which is prohibitively expensive--and highly justified!. Phabeni and crew help us get through tough times and we shall remain grateful and mindful of what you need.. All the best from Montréal. And hundreds of kisses on the little One's forehead.
I'm 35
@@MrRobot898 lol...my statement is based on pretty well nothing except the tone of the comments leads me to believe in a "mature" demographic. As well, the near-absence of typos seems to point in the same direction. "Mature" could apply to any age group....Bottom line: Herd would need really sensitive hedge fund managers who melt at the sight of an elephant. I'm sure Adine has amassed a great deal of fund-raising expertise. I just wish I could contribute more. Cheers 35!
Phabeni we all love you so much. I wish I was a millionaire, I would by you the world...
He’s our little CZcams ⭐️! Phabeni Beni! Extraordinaire! So happy he’s feeling better, praying for continued health. ❤️
I've never been so happy to see an elephant pee! ❤🐘❤️ Keep drinking those bottles, Phabeni!
I adopted Klaserie. It’s enjoyable to look for her in the videos. When I see her, I think “there’s my girl”! If you can adopt, I encourage you to do so. You will be so glad you did. Watching from Florida 🇺🇸💕🌺💗🌴

Thanks!
He is cute and spunky. His little rumble was so sweet.
If you click the link to adopt, it gives a bio on every Elephant! I go there to view personalities and background. Thank you so much Herd!
I'm so sorry I can't contribute in money; I still care about Phabeni, my little sweetheart, it's for you:
Phabeni, Phabeni,
sparkles in your eyes
little round belly
ears like mickey mouse
swinging trunk & tail
passion in your heart❤🐘
Watching the adverts on HERD's videos is an easy, free way to contribute, they get revenue for the ads we watch. I do that when I can't give money. Also if you happen to be living in South Africa you can make HERD a beneficiary on the My School/My Planet card at Woolworths, they get a percentage of your grocery spend and it doesn't cost you anything extra.
Sweet little Phabeni 🐘🙏❤️
We all love you Beni, and are so glad you are on your way to feeling better and happy to be with your herd!❤
You are always in the best loving hands and trunks, you’ll never have to worry about that!
Love to all, thanks Adine, Herman and Khansani, for a lovely video this morning!
Lammie, and spotty!🐘🐘🐘🐘…🐑🐑
His rumbles are the best! Just adopted Phabeni !!
I love waking up to my favorite elephant 🐘 family. This little one is a very special baby bull. He needs special loving care and gets it from his human family to his newly adoptive elephant 🐘 family. He is loved unconditionally. I have adopted Phabeni 🐘. I will be able to watch him thrive and make his milestones. Thank you to all of Phabeni's 🐘 human family for everything you do. Love from Florida ❤️🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘❤️

What a beautiful thing❤God’s animals and the people he has put in place to care for them! I will help where I can!
I hope he's doing better
Un plaisir de retrouver notre petit chouchou 🥰 A pleasure to find our little darling
Thanks
I love seeing the locals engaging with the elephants, they must be so used to these animals but to us in North America they are magical. I hope the carers know how much we appreciate them sharing their world with us.
Thank you so much for your kind words and support! ❣️🐘
The hand of a hard working man. Much respect. Mine aren't even that calloused.
We are so grateful for Herman and our other hardworking carers 🧡👋
Bless him. 💜
I check on Phabeni every day 🎉🎉🎉
He really respnds to his odd " herd" grazing with him. Thanks for putting time into these wonderful creatures.
Thank you so much for your support ❣️🐘
Even though his hip wound is closed, the area around it still looks wierd, and has a dark color. Do you know what that is? I would love to adopt little Phabeni, but I've already got Kumburu and Sebakwe. 🥰 Lots of love to the wonderful little trunkmeister and all at HERD. 😍
On this day, Dr Rogers checked the wound and cleaned the skin, just as an extra precaution, so it looks wet and dark here. ♥️
Has the left hip lesion been checked for a foreign body or bone chip? Ie ultrasound? Has there been a pus swab to see what infection is to possibly give a course of antibiotics? Usually the body forms pus to eject foreign bodies and will make abscesses. Something is causing the lesion to persist and something is causing him.to reject his milk so start with most obvious. If little Phabeni has an area of chronic infection it will wear down his overall health.
Has the hip lesion been scanned for foreign body or bone chip? Swab pus to check type of infection. Lesion will persist if Phabeni's system thinks there is a foreign body in situ. While skin is closed over, the lesion remained swollen which means reaction is still occurring and has been an issue since his arrival.
Chronic infection/lesion could gradually wear down his overall health. Antibiotics don't usually help cure abscess but may reduce secondary infection. It's so hard caring for those without a voice.
Did Phabeni drink his bottle when he can see Setombe and other cows? Maybe adjust feed times to get as much fluid in as possible when he can see his elephant mum.
I’ve been so worried about Baby Phabeni. I’m glad to see updates. Sending prayers for his recovery.
Its so good to see him looking much better now and eating too. I have so much respect for the work you all do with these beautiful elephants and i look forwards to your regular updates .
We love you, little one!
Lil' Phabeni! My prayers go up for the sweet baby elephant. I wish a speedy recovery for the little one. I hope this small donation will help in some way.🍼🐘
Thank you so much for your support and the donation! we truly appreciate it❣️🐘
Phabeni sure did have more energy, was calmer and showed he had an appetite for the particular greens you were giving him so lovingly, Adine after receiving the drip from Dr. Rogers! Keep up the good work, Seuntjie!
Thank you so much for your positive feedback, we really appreciate it

Phabeni has a playful, and stout character. 🍼🐘💟🌿💞
Yes, even watching the ads on the videos helps as well!
Cute Phabeni ❤❤
OK, just adopted our little prince!! Now I'm the proud foster mama of Khanysia and Phabeni!! Wonderful!! I'm honored to support HERD. 🙏 Cheers from California USA ❤❤❤

Maye Musk, a South African, wouldn't be interested in scoing virtue points by donating to HERD?? You have such a special place-- it's so distinctive for its virtue and exceptional spirit.

Thank you so much for your support ❣️🐘
The little guy is going to need total tender loving care until he is out of the woods. Your fan club is rooting for you Phabeni!!!
The adoption program is a wonderful way to support the elephants and HERD. Adopted both Pisa and Jubalani this year. I wish I could adopt them all ❤🐘
I send my love to my elephant friend Phabeni and my sheep friends lamie and spotti, and the adult elephants as well.❤️❤️❤️❤️🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘
The herd graciously accept all the love, thank you.
I adopted Phabeni and Khanyisa, they are sweet hearts ❤❤❤
Thanks. Wish I could get some moneyed friends to sponsor an elephant or sheep from the Herd but maybe they don't worry about African wildlife as much as I do. 😢
Thank you so much for the support and adoptions! We love connecting with you!❣️🐘
Thank you so much for your support ❣️🐘 Every share like and comment means a lot to us too!
The herd is so good. Like a big family of happiness and ups and downs and sharing. Thank you. ❤
Has the vet considered having an orthopedic surgeon remove that bone fragment with orthroscopic Surgery while he is small so it won’t fester over a lifetime? I bet you could get a surgeon to donate his time.
Merci !
Phabeni looks much better..precious little calf❤
Thank you so much for your support ❣️🐘
Bless his wee heart 😍😘 Looking good Phabeni! Thank you Adine & the entire crew for giving Phabeni everything he needs. Thank you also for looking after two very crucial team members, Lammie & Spottie! 🥰🙏❤️🐘🐑
It's feedback like yours that reminds us why we do what we do.
Sweet boy ❤ Keep eating little one
he has such cute feet!
We can see that the whole Herd Team and Dr. Rogers are all super motivated to fulfill the needs of little Phaben so that his health problem is solved He is so endearing, not at all in the same way as little Miss Sunshine He is more rambunctious though he seems very happy when he is foraging with Mama Setombe and his Ellies Family I love his rumbles and Adine is now expert with two teachers like Khanyisa and Phabeni 😊 communication goes very well bur Phabeni should give a hint as to what could make his milk bottles more attractive 😅
Maybe needs better flavor.
Spotty is like pass the plate over here
Lol!
Thank you so much for your support ❣️🐘
Phabeni looks like he’s getting getting his spunkiness back…thanks for everyone at Herd for all hard work…🐘!
Love the comment! Thank you so much for your support ❣️🐘
Phabeni, I am adopting you very soon! I have saved enough to make you my baby also. Hello to all the others that are Phabeni's herd, because they love him too. Hello and thank you to the caretakers and the others that have a hand in helping out at H.E.R.D. ♥️🐘♥️🐘♥️🐘
Hi lammie ❤️ hi spotty ❤️
I called my cat always "ventje" which means little boy in Dutch. Have changed his name in Shanky. Eversince he's reacting a lot better, it's as if he was waiting for that name😅
I think cats love names with "s" or "sh" sound!
Oh Phabeni ❣️ so good to watch you, up and about with all the rumbles
Is it possible to use a reward for good behaviour with baby elephants like we do with dogs? Ie each time Phabeni drinks his bottle...praise then reward him. it was called operant conditioning and used with many animal species for training purposes. Elephants are very clever so would this approach work with them?
that little Phabeni is so brave!
Thank you so much for your support ❣️🐘
Sigh. Our hearts be still. We are so in love , little big, glad to see you feeling better. Lots of us going to get in line and adopt you, little Big , we LOVE you ! 🌹
I LOVE THIS LIL DUDE!!!
It's hearthwarming to see Phabeni eating leaves and grass. Is trunk seems to grow longer such as his legs. But when he is with the adults, oh boy, he is so small. He is just a cute baby elly ! Take care little one. I love you and your herd. ❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙💜💓💓💓
I hate that bump on Phabeni's hip👀🤬
Love you Phabeni 🙏🙏
Thank you very much for your raise and care
Thank you so much for your support ❣️🐘
Hello Herd family, I noticed when you were calling Lamie the little bull looked in that direction. He knows what and to whom you’re speaking to.
He's quite a smart pants! Thank you so much for your support ❣️🐘
Dear Phabeni, please drink your bottles and eat your veggies so that you can grow big and strong. We love you! Thank you to all who care for these precious animals.❤
So happy to see Phabeni eating his greens, of course, with the assistance of Mama Adine and my guess (Carer Herman?). He obviously wants to be near his herd all the time. This bull has really captured the hearts of so many around the world, mine included. Thank you so much for those who adopted him. I really hope I could adopt him myself; however, there are financial strains at the moment. For now, I will offer my prayers and support for this channel. In the very near future, I hope to help financially as well. God Bless this beautiful herd and everyone at HERD.❤🐘❤
Thank you so much for your support ❣️🐘 Every like, comment, and share means as much to us as donations! We appreciate every ounce of support!
Phabeny is so sweet. He is a goog looking baby elephant. Like watching and listening to all his munching.
So glad to see Phabeni up & about! Am praying for his health to keep improving & hope to see him use his trunk to open the gate the same way Kanisia did as a toddler . Thanks to all at herd elephant for all you do to take care of all the wildlife in your care! GOD BLESS & GODSPEED TO ALL THE CARERES & ALL THE WILDLIFE.
Such a beautiful little one~ Cute~👍
Thank you for sharing this video~🤗
Thank you so much for your support ❣️🐘
Beautiful Baby glad to see him doing better ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much for your support ❣️🐘
QUESTION TO ADINE...
which Ellie's are still waiting for adoption, I'm sure the babies get adopted quickly so I want to adopt an Ellie who hasn't yet been adopted or only has few adopted parents. PERHAPS YOU CAN DO A VIDEO PROMOTING THE ELLIES THAT NEED GLOBAL PARENTS😟🔆. Thank You so much for ALL YOU DO FOR THE ELLIES, and for the earth🤗
Is Phabeni drinking his milk bottles rather more willingly when with Setombe and the herd outside? Maybe he still has just this inner restlessness and agitation resulting from the trauma he experienced… Who knows what happened… Or maybe mainly a physical cause after all… so difficult to know what's going on in an animal's mind 🤒😘❤🩹
Sweet little Phabeni!
Thank you so much for your support ❣️🐘
Baby Boy Phabeni is just so adorable and spoiled ❤ he deserves all the best ❤
Is Phabeni in pain from the wound on his left backside? Are the vets treating it? Did they find something in the wound? The audio was difficult to hear as you were explaining about it, and closed captioning is not turned on. Thank you, the carers, the lambs, and the mothers for helping him. And thanks to all of the people involved in caring for the entire herd.
In the blog they said that they had ex rayed and found something that they think is a small piece of bone.
He looks like he feels much better. ❤
