  • A Beautiful Second Meeting with Baby Elephant, Phabeni and the Entire Herd 💚🐘🍃
    • A Beautiful Second Mee...
By now, March 2024, little orphan bull Phabeni has in fact not only met every elephant in the Jabulani herd (his new family) but he has also been accompanying them on walks in the wilderness each day. We need to edit, publish and post our latest footage quickly for you so you can see how the moments unfolded. But first… we want to walk you through this last introduction, because look how special these scenes are!
Setombe is a firm favourite as Phabeni’s surrogate mother, although Lundi still holds a bond with the calf. Khanyisa is much less jealous and combative than in the first introduction with Phabeni and Kumbura is really showing immense interest in helping to support the bull.
What a beautiful family! They touch our hearts deeply in their show of love, welcoming this wild orphaned bull into their embrace and letting him know that he need never be alone again.

When a calf is born in the herd, all the elephants gather around and all are excited. It's a wonder the calf isn't over run and not trampled. I think some have been harmed unintentionally. This herd is the same. It's amazing seeing Sebawke in the mix. Phqbeni is feeling overwhelmed. I hope he bonds with Kumbura and Pisa and Bubi.

@@user-pe8xn7fh1w Phabeni is a little bull. None of the females in HERD have milk; mammals must be pregnant or very recently pregnant to lactate, producing milk. They are on contraceptives as per South Africa law- elephants under human care are not allowed to reproduce. And now we get to see a brand new journey of Phabeni Wildheart once a scared starving soul who’s future was uncertain transformed into a sassy vibrant Firecracker who’s now surrounded by a plethora of adoring trunks there to support guide and love him for the rest of his life. He is unique and special in his own way and I’m so glad that I have been here from the start of his new life at HERD,I can’t wait to see where it takes him and to watch him grow up just as I did Braveheart. We all can learn from the kindness, selflessness and compassionate hearts being displayed by this amazing HERD. They are such a unique group of elephants who, in their own ways, have been hurt, abandoned and eventually accepted by their new family. They each know how it felt to be alone and are now showing the gratitude and maturity of having been saved. They are showing little Phabeni that he is now part of their family. There will be bumps along the way, just like any relationship. However, in the end, Phabeni will eventually see that this is his family and that he is not alone anymore. Thank you Adine and carers for all that you do 🙏❤️

I am super sick and when I look at Africa, the land where we all were created from the Earth, I have a really bad nights and I wake up and I watch the news and I watch how everything is give me gimme gimme take take take and it breaks my heart inside Everybody wants to try to divide the greed and then I see this heard herd Working together for a child a being One of their own kind how to love live, be healthy and happy to contribute to one another protect one another live for one another I love one another I can’t help but think how was your past lives to be so lucky. If I wasn’t intelligent species, looking down on the smartest species of this planet would not I think we’re so intelligent we hurt one another destroy the planet. All we do is take about ourselves and our families but what about the human race? What about other babies that are suffering that are hungry they don’t matter to you what about the animals that share this planet? This is just not our planet. We are one with the universe, the power of the universe runs through us the same thing that makes stars live billions of years once through our bodies and why do we allow ourselves to be manipulated as humans only believe what we can see what we can feel what we can hear and what we can taste and touch But the be of the universe, the power, the vibration, so creator of everything this was not designed to be like this good will always be on the opposite scale of bad light opposite of dark opposite of negative. You can’t have one without the other I wish humans could have as much compassion for one another as the jabulani herd and when I return to the ether and vibration of the universe to the source of everything will call it, some I will call it creator of everything I will remember this herd And some parallel universe this herd are the dominant species on the planet. You imagine what the world would look like she has Human were the smartest no one could ever be smarter than us. I guarantee this world will be a better place with them in charge. I’m just rambling and trying to say that when I watch these videos, I am not afraid and I know that this is only the beginning. The carer at the herd well someday, be grateful for what these creatures taught them what they allowed them, to be blessed in their presence, and they will feel full with no regrets that their life had meaning substance, selflessness love and they’ll feel thankful to have been blessed to be in their presence. If there’s a way I’d too walk to Plains with herd As I do this morning, thank you to all the people that watch that participate that car me for These magnificent creatures I don’t even like calling them creatures because there’s so much more civilized than we are. For them to remember how they felt when they were younger a lot of them amazes me.

Sooo true, as we saw w/Fenya...God Bless her little spirit and Adine and orphanage caregivers who were sooo loving and patient w/her (she was sooo traumatized + scared for abt a week, but she finally relaxed and began to trusted again, again thx to Adine + team-angels!...Sadly, she did not make it...and she was beautiful...
      RIP, precious one ✝️
Phabeni will make it...Altho, it took some time for him to pull out of his grief...He is a sweet, tender spirit...I think some of us wondered if he would ever "turn the corner"...
Honestly, he rebounded I think when Adine + team started introducing him to the herd (that and enriching his bottles, he too was malnourished... Thank God, not as much as Fenya).
After these introductions to Jabu + Lundi, then to Setombe and Klaserie, then the others, Phabeni started to come out of his shell...and he has been thriving ever since!
Honestly -- the entire story BEFORE Phabeni came to HERD (Tokwe, feeling the "call of Nature" for another baby, almost kidnapped a wild baby ellie!!! Then soon thereafter, this lady finds an orphaned ellie on her farm, her refusal to allow authorities to put him down + Phabeni's subsequent rescue + arrival at HERD -- it is ALL such a GOD-LOVE-Story!!!
      We PRAISE You, Father God!

"I can't believe how big Khanyisa has grown. I remember seeing her on CZcams when she was just a tiny, helpless hurting calf. Now, she has grown so much that if she decides to sit on her mother, Adine, again, she will probably flatten her...smiles!!! It's amazing to see how much animals can grow and change over time.

I just love how they are always so excited to wrlcome all the new babies!❤. I know the carers worry the herd gets overly excited, but I think his natural family knows exactly what they're doing and wouldn't hurt him for the world, even to the point of protecting him from the occasional back kick from his big sisters🥰. It's just magical how they all allow him to suckle, knowing that's what he needs. Is it the same in the wild? Thank you so much for letting us see this! 💕

I know Khanyisa's reactions and I know that this is how she reacts when she senses an intruder. At first she perceives little Phabeni as an intruder, someone foreign to the herd, but gradually she gets used to him and accepts him, you can see that curiosity in her. Khanyisa has always been very alert to foreign scents

Phabeni is very relaxed and confident, which only came about through round-the-clock loving care of his human rescuers meeting his social, medical, and nutritional needs in those critical first few months. It is wonderful they are able to reintegrate him into his adoptive herd so quickly so his traumatic period of loss and isolation was short and he seems to have bounced back quickly! It is lovely to see, but must be nail-biting when the giants are excited because he is so tiny. So much hard work goes on behind the scenes to make this possible. Thank you for sharing these precious scenes up close with all the great explanations and annotations! Well done Adine and dedicated carers and staff. Please donate if you are able to help the homestead go solar and continue to help orphan and rescued elephants. I wish I could give more💚🦁💚
