    Dude, why are people so hung up on changing out the Pistons, a big waste to replace all the Pistons if you don't need to. You only replace that which is broken. The YOUNG LADY IS ONE HUNDRED PERCENT CORRECT WITH GOOD COMMON SENSE!!! Thanks 👍

    • @newtonfirefly3584
      @newtonfirefly3584 Před 11 měsíci

      Correct Jason, but [O]Liv[ia and Danny are completely incorrect, wrong with not cleaning all of the carbon deposits off the pistons, inside the heads, valves as they did within the cylinders The carbon deposits result in detonation which results in harm.
      All of that effort to open the engine, disassemble, examine everything, also remove every piston, change the bearings, hone the cylinders and not clean, wife, remove the carbon deposits from the pistons, heads, valves is obvious, clear, silly, foolish nonsense !! Everyone that does a refresh as this certainly cleans and removes all carbon deposits !
      They clearly need to modify the fuel mixture and perhaps the fuel. But why are obviously very ignorant and refuse to accept the proper, correct, valid knowledge which is known for over 5 to 6 decades to over 120 years. Ethanol and methanol are far better hydrocarbon fuels with hydrogen is the best.
      @GNARLY SPEED SHOP  @GnarlySpeedShop
      The inline fuel filter is certainly an improvement, but a 10 num replacement filter is far better for the fuel injection system. Adding, Switching to having "Flex-Fuel" for variable and high ethanol content is far better too.
      However, Ignorant Fools will remain to be foolish accepting the false incorrect ideas, claims, information from those with improper, incorrect, invalid information lacking proper knowledge known form over 140 years.
      Blogs, certainly 'comments' along with many involved in building, racing are certainly among those with incorrect, invalid, improper, false base, basis.
      The actual professionals have connection with the proper knowledge.
      Among the best available on-line are David Vizard, Lake Speed, Jr.. much from Steve Morris, , add especially EFI University, R.E. D which are actual engineers as Lake Speed, Jr. Certainly add experts as PME, Dennis and similar professional engineering, competent, engine builders as Ed Pink.
      Among the most common is ignorance with, about fuels, lubrication and proper operating temperature.
      All The Best and Much Success in Your Quest(s), Health, Happiness and Well Being 😊, Sincerely ☺
      P.S. If You will check the CA Law, ask any PD officer, Sheriff, it is required to have the CA license plates-tags with the appropriate valid sticker on the front and rear of the vehicle along with the required registration and insurance information. Danny should already know this, since he has been loving in CA all these years, as i did when living there too [1982-1993].
      Personally appreciate the older blue metal painted license tags, plates. They look especially very good with this 1967 GTO too! have been thinking often, many times about the specific 417 NPR and the meaning for this vehicle. Have You figured out a meaning yet ?

    Never ever start a freshly assembled engine without using a preoiler to get all of the air bubbles out of the oil passages or the top end is going to run dry while the engine oil pump is trying to purge the airlocks out. Where are you guys? I guess its L.A. right?
    That must have been so exciting and a big relief to drive it and know she's okay.
    The big unanswered question is what was the diagnosis of the piston? Did she put it in the wrong way? Thats an important step in building engines. I didn't or we didn't find out what caused the scoring on the piston. Don't worry there is no way to learn without making mistakes. In fact if your not making mistakes your not trying hard enough. Nobody wants to fk up unfortunately you can't make gains with errors. Always right down the steps to check. I always do it methodically and recheck everything at least three times.
    I remember building something and rechecked it for the third time.
    Thats when I discovered a mistake.
    Make check lists so you can check each component on a piece of paper.
    Anyway this was a fun video and wow what a gorgeous day in Los Angeles! That coast line what a view! 😂❤👍👏🙋🏻‍♂️🇦🇺 Australia

    10:34 Band clamps, like what is used on large trucks, work well for sealing when the downstream pipe is inside the upstream pipe. Muffler shops insert the TP this way but then generally weld it to make it leak-free. But you want to remove your mufflers in the future, so a band clamp is a potential solution. There are band clamps for butt-jointed pipes and for overlapping pipes - make sure to get the right type. Also, slather the OD of the tailpipe with anti-seize before you put it into the muffler to help with future disassembly.
