This is very helpful, been wanting to get those same flight sticks but had no clue how to achieve what you have with the Brook board. Thanks mate. Keep em videos coming
Glad you found it helpful!
Very informative, looking forward to the "solution video"!
Thanks for watching! I do this in my spare time so sometimes it takes a while to post videos but it's still on my list.
I seem to be stuck at installing the raw analog firmware. Did you have any trouble with it? Using the UltraMap program, I can change a stick into Firmware update mode, but when I go to the UUpload program it says there is no device connected. Even when Windows lists it as one of the connected devices.
Edit: I noticed that the connected devices thing said the driver wasn't properly installed, so I checked and Ultimarc has that on their Support page under Programming.
Finally got my controller to work thanks to this video and the links you provided, so thanks a ton. Hope you have great luck with your future projects.
Thanks for watching, happy to hear you found the video helpful! To answer your initial question, yes, I also had some trouble installing the firmware but like you, found the solution on the Ultimarc website. Most of the time it is straightforward and installs on the first try, but once in a while there is a hiccup. Glad you got it working
Instead of the usb mini splitter do/can you use mini C ??? That what cell phones are on today
The Ultrasik 360 joysticks are mini USB so the splitter has to plug into those. A USB C would work though if you found a way to adapt it.
@@enabled5714 ohhhhh OK 👍, noo question sorry.
where is the second part of the video, when you test it whit games?
The testing is at the very end of this video. I don't show any gaming though, I'm hoping to share a few videos of actually gaming with the controllers in the near future.
good video! I have the same board, but I can't get the battery to charge via cable, were you able to do it?
Thanks @gastongaston , Yes, I was able to charge the battery via the usb cable. You could have a bad connection where the battery connects to the board, or maybe a bad battery?
I don't think so, I have 2 batteries that I bought with this kit + 1 original PS3 battery (I disassembled an original joystick to test this). When connecting the battery, the board only discharges it until it reaches zero but never charges again. In turn, all these batteries, if I connect them to the PS3 joystick, charge normally without problems.
Do you play some combination of keys or do you leave the stick in some kind of "charging mode" so that it charges its batteries?@@enabled5714
Would you be willing to include a wiring diagram?
Hi @snfullif, I can probably create a wiring diagram and throw it in the next video I make about this topic.
@@enabled5714 Thanks!
In theory...could this method/mod also work for pad-hacking?
Yes, it definitely could be used for pad-hacking. I have done some pad hacking on simple controllers but haven't tried pad hacking a controller with analog joysticks yet. It is on the list though and I will share when the time comes.
@@enabled5714 Awesome, that's great news! Just got some for the holidays so re-watching the video. Thank you very much for the schooling!
