  • Ultimarc's new analog Flightstick is here!
    In this video, we will take an in-depth look at the new Ultrastik-360FS joystick.
    A wonderful flight stick with the Ultrastick analog technology inside.
    Not cheap, but very well made!
    We will first disassemble the flight stick to prepare the mounting in the control panel. Then reassemble it and configure the stick with UltraMap software. Finally, we will try a Mame game and configure the buttons

    Hi Great Work. I wanted to upgrade my arcade machine with your desk board, do you sell plans for cnc that desk?

  • @pdxmetal
    @pdxmetal Před 3 lety +1

    I installed the cheap $20 8 way version many arcade shops sell under different labels so am familiar with its form factor. If control panel space is horizontally limiting you can unscrew the plate and rearrange everything so the plate is vertical. In other words, the shaft sits in a groove and if you simply turn the plate vertical the stick will be sideways, but you can change its orientation. I had to do this to keep the plate from hitting other buttons on my panel.

      Yes this is a smart solution. Thanks!

    • @pdxmetal
      @pdxmetal Před 3 lety

      @@TheDanielSpies_Arcades The 360FS was even easier than the digital version to rearrange the plate. Just remove the 4 top screws and turn the plate around to fit your panel. I didn't even have to remap the directionals.

    wow just what i was looking for! is it possible to connect the stick to an analog of a ps4 controller? left for example, and the buttons to L1 and L2? and do the same for the right analog and the R1 and R2? i ask because I don't know if it affects the sensitivity of the ps4 analog, when changing it will be the same sensitivity of the original analog?? I have a project in mind but I don't know if it will work, and this type of stick is just what I was looking for !!! it's great!!!

    Thank you for all these great videos. I want to see the pin locations "light up" when I press each button so I know how to assign it, but I get no sign that the buttons are interacting with anything at all. Does the ultimarc driver interface "light up" the pin locations when the physical buttons are pressed? I'm working with a scratch-built cabinet with all the wires attached with the official supplied ultimarc harness, I've installed the driver, but am getting no response from anything.

      Hi, no nothing will light up. Just install WinIPAC and Pasmark Keyboard test and map each button that way :-)

    Hi Daniel. You video is awesome! Question about the flight stick. I just bought one to hook up to a raspberry pi4. I took a gamble hoping this controller will work with a pi4 but as of right now none of my games can be mapped to this controller. The flight stick is only working with the retropie interface when choosing games in. Does this flight stick only work with a PC, or can i make this work with the roms on raspberry pi4? Thank you!

      Hmm not sure 🤔 you should ask Andy this from Ultimarc. I don’t do much Retropie setups myself. Let me know if you got it working 👍🏼

    I was wondering if you could do a video for the Ultimarc Ikari 12-way Rotary Upgrade for Servostik, J-Stik??? It requires the J-Stik Ball-Top and the 12-way rotary upgrade it allows you to play games like Ikari warriors, commando etc. Basically games that requires you to move the joystick in the direction that you are firing. 🤞 Thank you

  • @Masculum_et_superbus_esse

    Hi Daniel
    I'm actualy reworking my arcade cabinet and I'm considering about buying a pair of these sticks. These should be compliant for all simulators games (Mach 3, Sky target, ...) and all others classical games like Ghost 'n Goblins . My question is about the sensitivity of this model and its accuracy for such classical games compared to another ultrastick model (oval or ball top). As I can see you also have the classical ball top model , did you notice any difference using the 360FS stick when playing a game like Ghost 'n Goblins rather than using a 360 classical stick?
    Thanks for your help.
    Best regards

    • @TheDanielSpies_Arcades
      @TheDanielSpies_Arcades  Před 3 lety

      Hi Patrice, thanks for your message. The ultrastik series (including the FS flightstick model) are all the same. It does not matter which version you choose. With the Ultrastick software you can switch these controllers to analog/4 way/8way/2way and they work great with all games. You can contact Andy at Ultimarc for more in-depth questions but I think you will be very happy with these indeed! Have fun with your build, thanks, Daniel

    Can two of these be set up to play tank games like assault? I would like to play assault and am trying to figure out how to make it happen. I have assault on retro pie with x arcade tank stick but for some reason can't get the right joystick to work for assault. I also need the correct joysticks.

      Hi, Yes I think these will work fine. You can choose what they should do with the software supplied. I am not sure though if this software is available on Raspberry OS. You might need to ask Ultimarc this to be 100% sure. Thanks, Daniel

    Can the joystick be restricted via physical restrictor plate into 4-way?
    Could you show what mechanism in the joystick keeps the handle in fixed orientation.
    I would like to make updated version of commodore quickshot 2 joystick which was 4 way with physical restriction

    • @TheDanielSpies_Arcades
      @TheDanielSpies_Arcades  Před 3 lety

      Hi Ivan, No, the restriction for the 360 sticks is done by software. If you need physical restriction plates the 'Minigrip' flightstick would work. They can't be mounted on the 360FS model :-)

    • @TheDanielSpies_Arcades

      Actually, I like them both. The Minigrip stick I always hard-wire to my player 1 controls. Pros: The flightstick will always work and is easy to install. Pro of the FS360: Analog control, No servosticks needed. Cons: USB operated. Windows can mess up the USB ID number that could give some problems.
