  • I hear lots of talk about Stage 6 this and that! Stage 6 your wallets on fire! ?Now for the sane that want a good runner without all bs that comes with cast iron jug! Athena Sport comes into play! Its the option most don't realize they have! Motorized bicycle community goes from Mild to Wild and never a middle it seems! But for a motorized bicycle build. If your going to spend money on a minarelli! -Buy an Aluminum TOP END~
    Cast iron ones are just designed for 6500rpms and to be used with a transmission "CVT" then they overheat and cold seizure! So if you want to go easy on it which none of you actually do anyhow! Then don't waste your money and buy an aluminum one out of the box so you don't spend 3x that fixing all broken stuff when cast iron one blows up, After your engine cold seizures.
    I know many think I'm hating on the minarellis but that is far from the truth. Do You think I would own one if I did? I just hate seeing people waste their money on parts they won't be happy with because they don't realize there is different types and you expect something from something that won't be realistic for what you buy not realizing it.

    I wish that I would seen this sooner. I Purchased the cast iron version a couple of months ago from California motorbike. The cylinder arrived with 2 broken fins. I called them and they sent me out a new one that arrived undamaged. They told me to keep the damaged one. (great customer service BTW!). So if you would like a free (slightly damaged) cast iron Minarelli cylinder.....just hit me up and I will ship it to you.

    I've bought multiple of all these hi-performance parts-n-pieces, but I have yet to actually use any of them, other than a few of the bigger heads, probably because I have zero desire to go over 30mph on a motorized-bike, I just got all this extra stuff because it looks cool af, lol, super awesome video bro, and thanks for sharing.😉👍

      It's funny because I use the minarelli for trail ridding 😆 almost never go over 25 on the thing lolz. Really does well with bigger sprockets. Doesn't mind the rpms to drive it at a non snail pace

      I was eventually gonna get some gemini hubs, 19in moped or motorcycle rims & use moped or motorcycle tires on a reinforced steel bike frame. So I could safely ride 45 or 55mph....I was looking on endless sphere website showing high power ebikes using 5,000w hub motors in 19in wheels & motorcycle tires in reinforced bicycle frames. So they can safely go 45 -55mph without tires & hubs shedding to pieces.

      lol I had that minarelli engine now for 3 years before it died! First rebuild on it so far new parts bearings. Though i don't torture my bikes like most do! To be honest! Avenger 85. Pretty much puts a minarelli and a saw build to shame now. pretty much a 90cc minarelli design stuffed on a motorized bicycle format.

    i don't like the single compression ring but the rest of it looks nice.
    Is there a reason for the single piston ring like less friction on the cylinder walls or something?

    • @BuildBreakFix
      @BuildBreakFix  Před 6 měsíci +4

      stage 6 is 1 ring as well. Yes less friction no oil gaps between rings at high rpms

    • @michaelbrinks8089
      @michaelbrinks8089 Před 6 měsíci +1

      Many 2 stroke motorcycles also use a single piston ring. Both 1 & 2 ring designs have pros & cons and a large debate about which is better.

    • @Paul_Gale
      @Paul_Gale Před 6 měsíci

      @@michaelbrinks8089 yeah , i just watched a 2008 Yamaha YZ 125 2-stroke teardown with a broken crankshaft and it only had 1 piston ring as well. makes sense if you don't have crankcase oil to hold back from the combustion chamber, you wouldn't need multiple rings

    Your funny. We have been running Athena cylinders for years, not only me. And literally that exact cylinder too lol. My first was 2018 on a CNC lower proper. 60mph and 15k rpm. And yes there is a difference. Check the dyno runs.
    Case reed that china lower with your G2 reed and you will love the performance. Case reeds are superior.
    Get on the groups more and you will see. If your interested check my channel I got build and run videos of the Athena.
    You might be surprised on what people are working on now. My AM6 is almost done.

    • @BuildBreakFix
      @BuildBreakFix  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Sure the few that spend few grand on bicycles lol know that. Other 90% don't know they exist or what they are. Never really cared much for speed. I kinda have a 139cc 2 stroke CVT transmission build I'm well aware of what 70mph is like on a bicycle. But I would rather drive my 1200cc motorcycle over a bicycle for speed rides on highway 😉✌️

    • @MedicWillCA
      @MedicWillCA Před 6 měsíci +3

      Right, which is why I geared the Athena for low end power over top speed. 60 is nothing for her. Also why I went for a piston port over case reed for more low end.
      No one needs to spend a few grand on anything just to read facebook. Its been done many times. Not sure what you think costs a couple grand but my cnc lower with Athena cost 600. Decent china is atleast 200.
      I dont drive motor bicycles on the highways. My builds are for the track and racing.
      Cool builds. Thanks for the videos.@@BuildBreakFix
