    What excited me most about this video is that I see you're wearing protective gear. It's one of my pet peeves with my younger bike friends. With my 70 year old bones it's a definite necessity, but if you're older than 16 and riding a bicycle at highway speeds, you best be wearing gear. Ride safe. Ride protected.

    i built on the f-zero frame but changed the front forks and handlebars to some gorilla handlebars as well as an oldschool large seat with shocks in it. those 2 things made a huge difference without a ton of additional cost. basically changed the bike from a pain to ride especially for a bigger guy to something enjoyable for most rides.

Even if I didn't sell I'm only at 985 for 2 bike only 1 registered, with a the sale I'm at 325, is it dirt Worthy no but goes 45 all day and is more then willing to do 20 mile trips good enough for me.

So I have to get the extended bottom bracket and wide cranks. It still wont be practical to pedal, but that is not what this thing is about. It pull from a dead stop just fine with one or two foot kicks or a half pedal. All in all I LOVE it!

    I wish I kept my f-zero. I would have definitely put that new 80cc engine on there. But when I got my f-zero, I had the same exact issue with the forks. They bend really easily. Also my other issue was the kickstand never wanted to stay in its position, and the handle bars constantly moved, even though I tightened the crap out of it. I also added a thumb throttle on mine, it made it much better

I see BikeBerry is selling the bike plus the engine as a complete package. They are also using the BBR tuning engine I asked about in your other video. Is this a 2 stroke or 4 stroke you got? The engine sounds much quieter than your other builds. I am certainly interested in this bike and I am hoping the engine set up BikeBerry provides with it will be of good quality. Hopefully they might have a sale around Black Friday so I can get it. lol. Looking forward to your update on the handle bars as I am also on the taller side at 6 -1. I like the stock handle bars and seat though as it gives a kind of retro look. This won't be a commuter bike, but more a bike to play around the neighborhood and have some fun with. There’s got to be a better option than those Chinese aluminum frames. Made in America type. I bought 3 Zeda dawns luckily, only caveat the spokes are 14g . I’ve been able to fit up to a 212 vertical on the Zeda Dawn. I’m lucky to have gotten the 3 Zeda Dawn frames , they are real nice . Built your own is my take now, made in America is my choice. Disk brakes are only good dry, coasters . Build your own - you would get quality parts for almost the same price. In the long run it will save you money. I used to same wake stem collar. Build your own - find American sources to enrich. Good video my man. Crank set you forgot to mention it has to be extended. Build your own - much better quality.

    Do you think making the F-Zero more like a cross between a mountain bike and a dirt bike might make this more enjoyable to ride? Change out the triple tree for more standard front forks and handle bars, and upgrade to a 29in front wheel instead of the 26in. Asking because: A. Haven't really seen anyone do it. B. I'm 6' and have the small bike problem, was wondering if changing the front of the bike in this way would change the geometry of the bike enough to make it seem larger for taller riders.

  • @artofdisguy3401
    @artofdisguy3401 Před 2 lety

    The Zeda dawn forks are a cheap fork, the triple tree forks you got are three times better and stronger.
    Full disc you will appreciate when riding in wet conditions they actually stop you
    Plus the 208 mm disc is better for the rear, and if your building it yourself go for floating discs instead of stuff flex
    Cable disc brakes are easy to get used to,, start with them light and tighten as needed,rear calipers are installed with spacers between the mount and caliper, you may need to remove and adjust them to get proper pad set
    Now as to the frame, being aluminium if they did not stress relieved the welds then it will crack a 1/4" away from the welds,, keep a good eye on the frame
    I am one of those that warn people off these frames due to the fact they are " pretty" but not really built for longevity, have had two crack now , one at the motor post mount, the other on the down tube at the crank, both cracked around the welds.
    So far the only issue I see on the Phat85 is the crappy brass bushing for a wrist pin and not a caged needle bearing
