Really?
You don't need to disrupt commuters to be a "proud Maori"
Can we not just live as one country.
Once upon a time I strongly supported addressing Maori grievances and Ive tried to get a better handle on joint culture - doing Treaty studies and learning Te reo. Now I'm so over it. Happy to help give a hand up and try and work things out with anybody but seems to me the victimhood of a lot of these people has become an entitled, racist self generating industry. Injustices go back to the dawn of man for all of us. Time for them to stop bleating and get off their asses like the rest of us have to.
That's unfortunate. I'll never stop supporting marginalized and oppressed communities that are less fortunate than my own.
Preventing people from going about their lawful business? Something is very wrong here.

@chrismoana4742 yea for you.. not for selfish hand outs. This is so far past a joke it's not funny it's getting to the point we need to bring in the army to control them. It's amazing to see how many Maori have no jobs tho and just want to cause harm and destruction.

Personally I don't really understand this. This government is not anti Maori, it just prioritizes different things than previous governments that catered to the Maori more. The current government wants to fix our infastructure and return our economy to what it was so everything isn't so bloody expensive. Is that such a bad thing? Don't they Maori realize that they have it pretty good compared to other countries where the "native" population and culture has been almost completely wiped out? Maori should be grateful - better yet, they should integrate with the rest of NZ rather than playing the thousand year old game of Victim.
if you want to see what nz would look like if commonwealth dissolved, look no further than tonga or fiji, lawless, and having their eyes picked out by china
Oh right they have it better than someone else so should just be happy with what they get.
Why should the Maori integrate, shouldn't the white people be the ones to integrate since they came after the Maori??
Theres a reason theyve got it better off than other indigenous. Yeah be grateful is typical 😂😂
Ahhh yes, the old, “you should be thankful you weren’t treated worse” argument. You do realise Maori language was almost wiped out due to government legislation. Not to mention the massive decline in population after the theft of land and introduction of foreign diseases. The reason why our culture is still alive today, is because of the many strong Maori leaders who refused to back down and fought back against racist policies.

I don't know if Te Pāti Māori want public support or are happy with stirring divisive sentiments...whether they like it or not some of us can still appreciate Maori culture but see them as Kiwi's like the rest of us, capable of achieving anything with some hard mahi.
Because of the Maori seats, they're pretty much guaranteed a voice in parliament so long as they keep spouting this separatist bullshit. It's no more than playing to their audience. They don't want the rest of NZ on board with their message, they just need enough people feeling like victims to keep voting them in in their specially-reserved seats in parliament.
The division came from our governments attacks on māori. pushing the tired "lazy māori" stereotype is not only race ist, it's boring.
our culture is different to "kiwi" culture. We are not the same, and that's ok. Our cultures are not mutually exclusive and we can exist together peacefully. However there is so much harm happening from our government, we had to stand up today.
Hopefully one day you will be willing to see from our perspective. Ngā mihi.

The only reason we’d see this much division and unrest in New Zealand is solely on Te Pāti Māori at this point… It is truly irresponsible of them towards the public, who are already struggling in our day to day lives as well.
I can totally understand your comment, however if part of the Māori culture is to cause disruption to the public and demand for preferential treatment, it’s only pushing the “lazy Māori” message.
However there exist kiwis who can see past that, given that they have came across fair, honest and hardworking Māori people. This is not done in a protest or etc. This is done in their day to day life. We show each other who we are by the way we act.
