Once upon a time I strongly supported addressing Maori grievances and Ive tried to get a better handle on joint culture - doing Treaty studies and learning Te reo. Now I'm so over it. Happy to help give a hand up and try and work things out with anybody but seems to me the victimhood of a lot of these people has become an entitled, racist self generating industry. The only reason we’d see this much division and unrest in New Zealand is solely on Te Pāti Māori at this point… It is truly irresponsible of them towards the public, who are already struggling in our day to day lives as well.
I can totally understand your comment, however if part of the Māori culture is to cause disruption to the public and demand for preferential treatment, it’s only pushing the “lazy Māori” message.
However there exist kiwis who can see past that, given that they have came across fair, honest and hardworking Māori people. This is not done in a protest or etc. This is done in their day to day life. We show each other who we are by the way we act.
