    Thanks for doing this! The Fucare Gemini X looks like just the perfect thing for around this neighborhood with it's skinny hilly roads. Just what I need to go from house to beach and back! :)

    These bikes are not available in Australia but I was able to find the factory that builds them and Ive ordered two. The nanny state rules we live under won’t allow power output greater than 250 watts, so I ordered the 500w version and we will have to pedal when the police roll up behind us. It doesn’t matter that I have an unrestricted motorcycle license and a road bike that is easily capable of 240+km/h. 25km/h is maximum speed for an electric bicycle here.🤔 Looking forward to getting them in a few months and thanks for the effort you put into this review 🍻

      Hope you enjoy them, especially after going through all that trouble! Something I didn't hit on was the utility of that crazy frame. It's perfect for a wide variety of mounting options that just need a tube to clamp onto. I'm going to try and change out the gears this spring on mine, and see if I can't get even faster. Good luck!

      It’s 500 watts in Canada and a max of 32kph. We still have dealers selling 1000-2000 watt e-bikes but they will tell you (wink-wink-nudge-nudge) that these bikes are only for private land and maybe off road use. 250 watts really sucks, I’m ok with our 500 watt limit.

      The GemX e-bikes Fucare sent me turned out to be the 750w, 2x 15ah version… oops. The quality of finish is very high. Pretty impressive bikes. Would recommend to anyone looking for an e-bike.

    The Romatlink Dolphin is another long range option to consider if you're in the market for something similar to this. It has pros compared to this model, but I'll let you judge that for yourself.

    Seriously thank you for doing this. I've been looking at this bike for the longest. I'm a heavy rider and I live in the city with some fairly large hills. So I needed a bike that would be able to take on those hills and me. I do have some questions, did you take into account that you could turn one battery off and use one at a time? And if you did, did go the 140 or maybe better or less? Did you ever do a hill test for any of your bikes? Hilly environment vs flat land can make or break a bike. At least in my opinion.

    • @ToolShow
      @ToolShow  Před 6 měsíci

      Our 3 mile test track includes two hills, each one with around a 15ft rise. The track takes you down and back up both hills each lap. That's partially why our range numbers are under the manufacturers. They no doubt test on a straight flat road. :) Keep in mind that a 750w motor (like the one on this bike) will not handle "significant" hills. If you can, measure one of your larger hills. If I can find something with the same rise over the same distance, I'll give it a shot and tell you if it can handle it.

    • @charleswhitewolf1949
      @charleswhitewolf1949 Před 6 měsíci

      I don't know how you measure hills. I'm not that great at math. But for the hills I'm trying to climb; you definitely need to build some speed up before you get to the hill.

    • @ToolShow
      @ToolShow  Před 6 měsíci

      We have a pretty steep hill coming up from our basement/garage, and it handles that fine when I'm on it. But can't make promises. :)

  • @SamPosten
    @SamPosten Před 7 měsíci +2

    So with a 450lb capacity do you think it would handle a 325lb rider no issue?

    • @ToolShow
      @ToolShow  Před 7 měsíci +1

      As long as you're comfortable, the bike will handle it. But keep in mind, just how much range you lose the higher the weight goes. If you're only looking to go 30-35 miles on a run, you'll be good.

    Points should be taken away on the headlight since it doesn't follow the steering which is NOT safe. Should be able to see what is happening where you are going incase there is a curb or pothole

      @@johnthumble5154 That's exactly true! But we knew that would happen. We're not planning to shift focus. The eBike videos (there are 6 total) are purely to help us get ready for our new Tool Testing series called Tool List. (we address this in the bike videos) We knew they'd tank, but they've given us INVALUABLE information on how our audience watches review videos, how to pace them, what to focus on, and what makes people stop watching. These videos are research for us, and they're paying off huge. In just 3 videos (and as you point out, very few views) we've been able to identify SEVERAL changes we need to make to our tool testing process, and editing. We want our tool testing to get the best possible start, and these 6 bike videos are going to make a huge difference.
      We take YT very seriously. That's why you see us averaging such huge numbers compared to other tool channels with double or triple our subs. This is an art, and science all at once.
      For what it's worth, when we do start testing drills first, those numbers won't be anywhere near our show numbers. That's because we have to adjust our channel personas, and that will take time. It will take time to teach our current viewers that our tool testing is just as entertaining (and informative) as our show. Then, it will take time for us to slowly reach viewers from other tool testing channels, and show them that our testing is worth their time as well.
      We've been producing the exact same show for almost 300 episodes now. There's a reason for that. It takes a long time to build a SOLID fan base, and you can't do that if you change your content every 2 minutes. People hate that. You lose loyalty. So this new change will take us a long time, so it's worth making 6 bike videos to fix issues before we even start.
      Hope that answers your question!
