We went to the XPeak's debut event, we even got our hands on one of the prototypes to test. Now the production model is here and is ready to be put through the ringer of all our testing!
Lectric's first fat tire e-bike has quite a lot to offer for not a ton of coin (relatively speaking). With an RST Renegade fork that helped earn it eMTB levels of durability approval, the XPeak isn't your typical fat tire.
Overall, the XPeak scored good to great in our tests. Make sure to watch the whole review for all the details on what it does well, what tradeoffs it makes, and to help you decide if the XPeak is right for you.

I've lost 23 pounds on my Lectric XPeak. I love it as long as I'm careful with the pedal strikes and turning issues with hitting my foot (men's size 9). I was wondering how long the brake pads were going to last for me.....738 Miles. Time for it's bolt tightening anyways with the mechanic. That just seems a little soon to me but I have no earthly idea how long brakes usually last. I wonder how many miles the bike will last all together. The bicycle trails around my house are so much more extensive than I ever realized. I just can't bring myself to get it dirty as I store it in my living room. Plus I'm an Autistic Person with OCD so I like to keep things really clean. Oh yeah my lights went out after only 50 miles so they need to look at that too when it's in the shop. I wish it had a working brake light though for when in traffic. I heard the prototypes did but it didn't make it into procuction.

Loving the review format. Great job guys. Could you review some smart bike helmets. I'd like to hear your opinions on some different smart helmets. My wife and I use sena R1. Mostly for the intercom feature. Easily can hear each other and has decent distance. Are there better options out there? I want to see a review from real bike people like you.

Not sure the big push for 4 inch wide tires in this category of e bikes. 4 inch won't fit on many regular tray style bike racks but 3 inch will. Get a lot of road noise on pavement . Fat tire bikes were the rage 10 years ago in the mountain bike industry but that demand has cooled off when people realize that those tire sizes were overkill and overly heavy

I agree but when you're going 28 mph on bumpy streets, those fat tires are pretty nice

I agree it could use wider handlebars, but I have to say Lectric got my attention with this one

We should have one on the way in for testing soon, but nothing has come to the shop yet.

Does it come with a front tire quick disconnect??

It has a thru axle with a toolless quick release. (You have to screw it in and out.) It doesn’t have old school dropout style quick release.

Why do people have this fascination with quiet bikes? Afraid to pass people and having them know you are on an E bike?

Well some neighborhoods will have annoying residents that will say you were driving a dirt bike close to them. Or some bike paths say absolutely no motorized vehicles

If people didn't care every ebike would sound like a power wheel.

I like to hear the bugs & birds around me, and the wind in the trees while I ride. A loud motor ruins that.

Handlebar height should be higher than seat always.. 52V is better.. Nobody needs Torque sensors at age 40 plus yrs old. 1004 wh battery is better. 1800 watts peak is better.. branded brakes are best . Adjustable stem for bars are best.. 35 mph is a good starting point throttle only.

Really good list of tips. I love benefitting from other people’s experiences. Surprised about torque sensors: can you tell me why?

I’ve seen enough customer service horror stories about this company to be kind of leery.

Nope! Not better than an Ariel Rider Kepler at $1,699.

    • @heavyhitter8972
      @heavyhitter8972 Před měsícem +5

I placed an order for the Kepler but cancelled the order because I read multiple horror stories on Ariel Rider's absolutely terrible customer service and very poor quality control. A guy on CZcams had his motor burn out after 50 miles. Took him a month to get a replacement and he had to install it himself. The bike looks good on paper, I'll give it that.
