Reason: Multiplayer servers aren't vanilla anymore. The vanilla servers often have admin abusers and/or full of trash bases. Not enough space to build on and blows your base's cover.

Unturned survival multiplayer is dead, i cant find one server that is legit survival that actually has people playing on it, i joined a popular survival server that had survival in the description thinking i finally found one and some dude in chat is like have you tried the kits, and i look at the kits and they have no cooldown and let you spawn in helicopter, full gear, and more. AND THATS WHAT PASSES AS A SURVIVAL SERVER! I have looked on unturned server websites and on the in-game filters and haven't found 1 fully legit survival server that has a good playerbase of over 5 people... and thats a low bar i have set, in conclusion i have found that nobody on this game only plays. easy mode - creative/survival with kits - PEI, Washington, CANADA+. I mean come on, all these recent updates and better zombies and harder maps are to ensure a better, more challenging survival experience and yet the playerbase refuses to play it.
And as a sidenote every survival looking server in CZcams videos that has bases and raids and all that juicy fun stuff. Kinda let me down because every one of them i have seen have all been scripted and made on creative servers.

    • @secretgod9117
      @secretgod9117 Před 8 lety +11

This is my Pro Tip for no0bs in unturned.
Instead of going to the military base right away on a server, try going to the bunker at Holman Isle or Paradise Point because there's rarely anybody there and you can find some decent guns like the Yuri, or a Zubecknekov (I'm pretty sure I spelled that incorrectly) and sometimes 7x zoom scopes.
My next tip is to make a fishing rod as soon as possible. The fishing pole is very efficient in catching fish and is much better than wasting ammunition on animals or running into towns looking for food.
My third and final tip is, whenever you find yourself in a firefight, use the third person camera mode tactically. it can provide an enormous advantage, by allowing you to peek behund walls while still keeping yourself hidden, and much more.

Top 5 Additional Tips for Beginners plus Server Tips (PvP):
    1. Once you spawn in the server, DON'T BE SO GREEDY or WANT TO TEAM UP WITH THEM because you will get betrayed or etc. Just find a loot and move on.
    2. DO NOT JOIN ON ANY RAID in the server. Just wait for them to finish and leave but hide first before you got spotted.
    3. Master your CRAFTING SKILLS and SURVIVAL SKILLS.
    4. Practice aiming using a SNIPER RIFLE but be responsible for your ammo.
    5. Be CAUTIOUS ON EVERY SURROUNDING, use your EARS to listen on every surroundings.

3 tips i would give regarding skills:
1: Use the first experience points you get on Survival, Cardio and Exercise. That way you don't starve/dehydrate as quickly and if you get in trouble and need to run away, you might be able to escape.
2: Never invest points on the random boost unless you got nearly everything maxed out. If you're looking for a specific boost, spending 25 points per try is not worth it. Especially since you always lose it after death. (Not to mention, they're not that useful with Flight being an exception since it can give away the fact that another player is nearby if they kill a zombie.
3: Do not forget to equip a skillset for your character. This will reduce experience cost for 2 skills (Except for Worker which affects 3 but they're not as useful in survival.) and there is also no penalty for having one unless you have the Civilian one chosen. (This one will not reduce any experience cost.)

I have played this game for over 500 hours, and I learned things that not many people know.
    1. NEVER open fridges or anything like it, you can just open your inventory while very close to the fridge or something like that, and pick up the item from inside.
    2. If you need Maple wood on the Russia map, chop down the trees near Silo 22. Not the whole area with the dead grass texture is a deadzone. Unless you pass the red radiation signs, it's not a deadzone, but there are still dead trees there. Those dead trees drop Maple logs and sticks that you can use to craft.
    3. When starting out playing, don't just go straight into PvP servers, first play on PvE servers. Since I started playing I almost never played on PvP, because I suck at it. On PvE you don't need to worry about some random pro killing you. The worst thing he can do is loot a place faster than you.
    4. Missiles. The item called "Missile" is used as the ammo for the tank vehicle, or for the Tank Cannon item (ID: 1300). It's VERY VERY RARE. In all my 500 hours, I only found it ONCE. The best choice if you don't have a tank is to trade it for the Hell's Fury or something as rare as that.

    - Don't worry too much about getting a base established until you're more prepared to defend it. The game's PVP meta is more balanced in favour of defenders than it ever has been, but base raids do still happen and if you're not ready to defend yourself, you're gonna have a bad time. Not to mention that it'll take MUCH longer if you don't have much storage space for materials.
    - Don't worry too much about toxic people. They exist in every game, including this one. You can opt to mute people if they're spouting slurs, but starting fights is only going to make everything worse. Push comes to shove, just leave. This is coming from someone with generalized anxiety disorder, trust me, I know how you feel. Take care of yourself, but don't try to police other people, it just... doesn't work.
    - Invest in Overkill, Healing, and Cardio heavily when starting out. These will increase your survivability and increase your ability to get out of dodge when there's danger, and get back on your feet faster when injured.

  • @samvulv
    @samvulv Před 8 lety +1

Now there are a few tips on things you should NOT NOT do!
First of all, a melee weapon. It can be found anywhere really, but the best ones the Axe (Fire station), Military/Butterfly knife (police station, in the locked room), or straight up chainsaw (farms)
I recommend for everyone who started fresh to check Farms first, not very populated, has ranged and melee weapons along with clothes and food (seeds)
Once a melee weapon is found, try searching for ranged weapons in case you run into someone who wants to kill you. Your best bet is the Police station. the Cobra. it's a very good self defence weapon. 20 or 40 bullets, can be automatic. Once that is done, the search for food needs to begin because you never know when you wanna go get some gear but forget to bring food. Never go to the military base without a self defence weapon. Never go there unarmed. So, my suggestion is, search in farms and police stations, and you are ready to survive.
as for the EXP you earn, I recommend upgrading your Survival skill (less water/food consumption) first. Then the exercise skill for longer sprinting.
and here's something you need to avoid, NEVER waste ammo on xombies. It's a waste of ammo, exposes your position, and you become the target of every xombie and player that heard the shot. Another thing, NEVER melee attack the sprinters (the xombies that stand on all fours)
This is basically what I would do when I join a server for the first time.

    Tip to all Noobs:
    1. Start on PVE Easy Mode to get the grip of the game
    2. If on a PvP server always kill the other player first or they will kill you
    3. Avoid wasting ammo on fresh spawns unless they chase you
    4. PvP in third person (H)
    5. Find guns in houses and police stations after you have a pistol check the military base
    6. Don't attract Zombie attention it also attracts player attention that is not wanted.
    7. If possible don't shoot at the zombie without a silenced weapon
    8. When PvPing stay Patient and try get close without them seeing you
    9. Don't walk on roads.
    10. If in doubt of killing someone back off into the woods
    11. Know the difference between real and fake cover real cover stopping bullets and cover like bushes that hide you
    12. Always PvP like there is five guys
    13. Evaluate your target notice patterns
    14. Take Everything and either salvage it or turn it into medical supplies
    15. Check low Military sites such as tunnels helicopter crashes etc..
Hope this helped all of you.

I acutally do most of these things while having an embaressing amount of 1000+ hours on the game. I still use the brush and trees as cover. My Top 5 in Unturned... #1: Always keep moving... #2: Stay behind a treeline and behind and hill... #3: Always stay alert and aware of your surroundings, look around you to know if you are alone or if you are being followed... #4: Use the night to your advantage... #5 Never go for the loot after you killed someone... if there is another player, chances are they'll kill you and loot your stuff or the player you killed will get teleported back to his/her teammate if you are playing on a modded server and then you be killed and your stuff will be looted... I have a couple more that I want to share... be quick about things... keep your health above 70 or 80... look at the benefits of maxing your skills, like sneakybeaky doesn't sound great... but it increases your health... and if you go solo... don't try to kill a team with a powerful weapon... use tactics

My own advice on PvP even tho I'm still kinda a noob on PvP
    1. Play on servers when there's like nobody on except you
    2. Choose bigger maps to play with, yes ur gonna take more time traveling but big maps also decreases the chance of coming up against (aggressive)players greatly
    3. Don't waste any ammo on civilian zombies,a knife would do the job
    4. Fire your gun only when it's necessary(like players shooting at you)
    5. Bows are your friend, they does amazing damage, both itself and its ammo are craftable, good weapon choice for early games(however using them to hit players is a little hard I know :-/)
Finally, don't always sprint! They alert a lot of zombies and players as the footsteps sounds are quite loud, get a few level of your sneakybeaky up and crouch! It's not like never stand up and run but when ur in like Seattle and u think someone else is close,I suggest crouch and try to get away without alerting zombies
That's just me trying to pretend like an experienced player of unturned

A tip: If you're making a base in Multiplayer, use at least metal doors. Using wooden doors is silly,as people will be able to raid you no problem.
Also, altough it's more challenging and requires more materials, more weapons and more people,I have found bases in the middle of nowhere (literally) to last longer than those built by barricading pre-existing buildings.

Singleplayer tip for beginners: Learn basic crafting recipes such as crates, it will definitely pay off when you don't have any more space for all of that epic loot. Also, don't put crates on vehicles, on multiple occations my vehicles have glitched out, and as a result, I lost all of the loot in those crates, as they despawned/glitched out with the vehicles. Craft crates, make a base!

    1. When you find a tank and ammo, barricade the gunners seat with strong material, that way the gunners seat is protected.
    2. Punching players. Your fists can kill a weakened player by behind if you hit is head a few times. Not guaranteed but might work. Don't try when you have good loot though.

the best combinations on unturned (my opinion) is shotgun+carbine e.g.
bluntforce+honeybadger i think it helps cuz u always encounter players at medium ranges and long range shots are difficult i tried this with a grizzly and it somewhat misses bcuz of trajectory on bullets (of course u would not stand when sniping dude always prone) and u could use shotguns when someone surprises u especially campers or use shotguns for surprise attacks on bases if u would use a sniper go to a tower e.g. crane in seattle, towers on o leary prison, towers on the military base, and towers on belfast airport.so u can see people and also provides cover bcuz there's walls anyway and u can shoot them at the ladder bcuz players cant pull out any weapon when climbing and also becareful when climbing into a tower they can shoot u down easily. this is just my opinion and i play only vanilla servers

Here's a good tip for killing Megas WITHOUT USING AMMO. It requires at least two players, though and access to a cargo container.
First step is that someone sacrifices themselves to trap the mega inside the cargo container. Once its in there, the person closes the container and dies. This makes the mega stuck in the container with no way to get out.
Then, the second player gets on top and starts hitting the Mega in the head. The Mega will be stuck and unable to retaliate. It's a great way to save ammo and kill a mega, and I've yet to see this technique fail. Though I have yet to find a way to perfect it so a player doesn't have to die, or manage it solo.

    My tips:
1.Try to avoid killing zombies with guns, because a lot of players play gready, you will need to protect yourself
2.Salvage everything you can, metal is useful,if you have lots of it try to find a blowtorch and a pickaxe, that way you can make a metal base
3.If you get decent loot, try not to stick in towns and never go to military locations,i did that a lot and the feeling of losing your loot is just..stupid.Make a base and hide your stuff before you go looting!
4.Talk to people only if you know they are unarmed, and dont punch naked people when you spawn, that's what 10 year olds do
5.Don't raid bases that belong to admins or ther bitc..ahem..I mean friends, they will turn on god mode and destroy your base, best thing to do to avoid that is to glitch them out,for example get them in a car and blow the car up,they have god mode and they will bug out. After that, run the hell away from your base
TIp 5 doesn't apply to cheat free servers
    Hope it helps xD
