- To make some space on my desk, I am moving my Gaming PC into a server chassis from Sliger. In theory the CX3171a XL can house my RTX 4090, Intel 14700k, ProArt Creator Z790 mobo, and DeepCool LT AIO with no issue. Unfortunately we run into some unexpected issues with my hardware that really prevents me from enjoying the fruit of my labor.

I love the smell of fresh electronics! I wish that it could make a cologne like that! 🤯
Or a candle. Or one of the fragrance things you clip onto your ac vent ducts.
that's baller, nice vid!
Yeah it’s too bad it didn’t end well.
Cheeki Breeki, Opachki! Been thinking about moving my build to the rack, but it's SO pretty I'd hate to hide it.
Shkura tsela, uzhe neplokho!
Yeah I feel you! I feel you.
Well done!
22:47 the click heard around the world.
Big sad moment.
May my graphics card rest in peace. 😢
5u case with double 360 AIOs? One on the outer wall for GPU, one on mid case fan mount for CPU?
That would be dope. I am thinking that maybe I should water cool the GPU instead of the cpu so the fans are spinning more often and at higher RPMs the 4090 is a little extreme for this tiny case lol. It’s definitely more appropriate for what you listed out
Tots and pears sir
Now self--host AI on that bad boy
I’m so shocked you didn’t say first that I don’t know how to respond
What kind of monster doesn't put on the rack ears!!! Your killing my OCD 😩
Weeding y’all out!
Nice Vid, why not use some crazy glue to put the blade on for now ?
I did actually try but the glue would expand while the blade was spinning ever so slightly and it would start all the way over
Looks great! I love having my desktop rackmounted. Mine is even in the basement, and I just connect via Parsec via thin client most of the time.
That’s awesome! How long have you had that setup?
@@SPXLabs server stuff was in the basement for years, but the desktop has been for almost two years. Only disadvantage is for twitchy FPS heavy games.
I kind of assumed that. That’s partly why I wanted a small rack next to the desk. Don’t have to really worry about latency or adapters
@@SPXLabs Indie games and photo editing it's good enough. Haven't played Rocket League in forever, so I haven't tested how bad it would be.
@ajpenninga I haven’t played rocket league in a couple of months but I’ll pick it up every now and then.
put on the rack ears, its use to hold the server in and it looks fugly without it
You really think it’s fugly without em? I mean I do like the curvy ones but I don’t see a visual appeal difference.
@@SPXLabs yes, my OCD also wants you to get black screws to replace those silver ones
Oh my. okay well maybe in the future I’ll put the ears on. Just for you ;)
i have a sliger 4u, i'd have got this case instead, but the sliders on my older sliger has bearings but still a pain to mount, you'd think an upgraded part would actually be an upgrade
Idk anything about the older rails beyond that they were an absolute nightmare. These honestly aren’t bad. I think the real issue is that companies who make rails want to sell them at HUGE volumes, to like Eaton or other huge companies. So it’s difficult for Sliger to get better rails because finding a partner is difficult due to their small size.
Did you ever end up testing the 4090 fitment on the 4U chassis with a right angle power adapter?
Nope never. Read too many horror stories and I think the one good solution required a PSU upgrade which kicked my lazy gland into overdrive causing me to just completely drop pursuit.
You lost a Fan ... sad ... but not me ;-) Maybe this would be better sitting on a Shelf, instead of Rails - since you can't just simply open the Top like a Dell with just one Lever
Awwwww. So sweet.
Maybe one day in the future as Sliger grows they can make these types of advancements. For now I think their setup is perfectly fine.
This chassis is almost as terrible of a value as the 45 Drives HL15. For $329 it doesn't even include the rails and there is very little to the chassis at all. Not to mention the rails are also expensive ($50-70) especially for not having any ball bearings. Other branded accessories (Noctua & Asetek) they are selling are ridiculously marked up as well. As someone who has purchased almost all rack mount chassis for computers since the mid 90's, it baffles me why people want to waste their money so badly. And yes, of course I know rack mount gear is more expensive. But it is all relative and you can purchase other chassis' for far less accomplishing the same thing albeit most likely in a 4U/5U format. CZcamsrs don't usually care though, they are often getting this stuff for free and are oblivious to the real world economics of most people.
Sorry to hear about the GPU fan though.
Well at least sliger is in the same neighborhood has SilverStone and Rosewill. Both of them you also have to buy your own rails or buy theirs. I’m not sure where you are getting rails but every kit I’ve ever seen is always 50+ dollars even used. On the plus side, you don’t have to buy their rails, or noctua products. I’m not sure how they can make their stuff any cheaper either given how small scale they are and being an American based company.
@@SPXLabs Rosewill and Silverstone both have chassis' that are of good and bad value. It's unclear to me why they can't standardize their manufacturing process across their lineup as so many others do which normalizes prices. Regardless, this Sliger chassis consists of very little for a very high price tag and is not really innovative even with the slide out mobo tray. Made in USA or not, the markup is ridiculous. And made in USA is great to buy when possible, but it does not always mean higher quality as many want you to believe which can equate to a poor value. As for rails, I buy rails all the time from various sources online. Just bought two new OEM sets of SuperMicro CSE-826 & 846 (yellow & blue label) that blow the level of quality away with ball bearings for $50 each. IBM thinks they are special, paid $65 for a new OEM set a few months ago with bearings and they have one of the best mounting systems. This is a typical price unless you don't know where to look I guess. The rails you bought shouldn't have cost more than $30 max as they probably paid no more than $20. And their cheap quality rails are no doubt specific to their chassis' which leaves the buyer up a creek. Yet another reason to buy from a manufacturer that has economies of scale on their side.
@URackADisciprine well hopefully they figure it out. You bring up some really good points. Markups and all.
Sounds like I need to start looking around better for rails lol. I’ve been over paying for a long while
Hawk tuah. Barely fits daddy
