**UPDATE: 👀 Read the COMMENTS below 👀.
THERE is an IMPORTANT update for a WARRANTY EXTENSION on ALL 2019 and 2020 LEVOS!!
News release video below... But FIRST:
If you own a Levo... Subscribe and Follow Now!
By liking this video 👍, it will help in the CZcams algorithm and keep the video posted high⏫
As Specialized owners, we want Corporate to take notice 👀, so they take care of us! The riders!
My next video will be about why Specialized should back up their statement "best kind of bike repair is no bike repair"... by having 3 motors READY at each LBS (local bike shop dealer) so when our motors go out... we don't have to wait 2-3 weeks!!! sometimes more... Specialized has to send a replacement motor, so why not send 3 to every shop ahead of time 🕔. replacement is 20-30 minutes (the repair guys are getting pretty fast after doing so many)...
So... Best Bike Repair is the one that you are IN & OUT (not the burgers🍔) and back on the trail.... NOT waiting 3 weeks! SUBSCRIBE and LIKE!
📣 News Release by Specialized 7/27/2020
    ✅ ‱ 📣 News Release: Specia...
There is pertinent new information, for instance if you have a carbon frame or not. Also the warranty is transferable ✅ for the 2yrs from original date of purchase.
But are the new motors fail proof? Stay tuned and see. ⚠ SUBSCRIBE ⚠ to keep posted from the comments made by Riders, for Riders.
Lots of great comments and shared experiences from LBS on the issue.**
⚠ Before you buy a new or used Specialized Levo Carbon Comp, Comp, Expert or Sworks or any Kenovo with a Brose 2.1 Rc trail motor, you will want to know this:
The motor has a 100% failure rate.
🛑 If you get a motor shipped out starting March 2020, you may have the motor that has finally been corrected, otherwise they are just ticking time bombs ⏰💣. see more below.
✔ SUBSCRIBE and share your comments on your experience on your Specialized. There will be updates to this bike and 2 others I ride with, which ALL have had failed belts in the motors.
what happens is the belt stretches and comes off. you can't open the engine or you void the warranty. turns out, the warranty is transferable to 2nd, 3rd, 4th owner.... but is for 2 years from original date of purchase.
You want a 2020 motor shipped out starting March and with a production date prior to February to be sure.
The motor serial number can be found in the Mission App.
it starts with 6 digits and a dash
    EO1680
then a hypen followed by several numbers. Your date of manufacture is in this set. The 100 that it starts with is meaningless, but after the 100 is the Date: year, month, day
    100191106-
    which is:
    19(2019)
    11 (November)
    06 (sixth day)
BTW, that date motor which is my previous motor, failed after 265 miles.
    New motor is:
    100200216
    which is Feb 16 2020
so far so good after 80 miles.

You did the absolute right thing by posting the video, it's a public service announcement, for $36 of labor he will lose thousands in future business

Thanks! Wanted to pull the trigger but saw a lot of posts about the motor. Considering your experience with specialized and that they don’t address the topic to the community is a no go for me. I need a bike on a 100km alp tour that is reliable and won’t ruin my free days.

I'm done with specialized, they charge way to much for the hassle you have with their bikes.

Thx for bringing up this issue. Got an 2019 Q3 Expert as a replacement for my last stolen bio fully. Bitty I'm more on my road bike and another hobby so I did just 5 rides in 8months. I need to contact my dealer of proactive garantee. But I guess it will be hard, Spezialiced has a reputation for bad value and costumer service but great bikes. I know this by working at a big Specialized dealer years ago.

Thanks for sharing your experience, I made a long term review on my Carbon comp a couple of months ago in which I mentioned my 3 faulty motors and now I’m waiting on my 4th replacement. In the first one they told me they don’t have replacement so they sent me a whole new bike and since the. I’ve been receiving replacement motors. I read somewhere they have a new revised version so I hope that’s the one their sending this time but I has been a big disappointment for my from a brand to bring a product to the market just to make money. Big corporations just have in mind that their wallets. Shame on them. I will never buy another Specialized.

Thanks for posting. I have a 2019 S-Works Turbo Levo with just about 1,000 miles on it. LOVE IT!!! Bought it in December. Comforting to know they will replace if it breaks. I go to Rock-n-Road in Anaheim Hills. They are great there. 👍

My motor on a Levo Turbo 2019 had exactly the same problem, they replaced it during COVID lockdown and it's working now thankfully

Have a Levo Expert 19. Received it in Jan 19 and had 6 months without any issues. When I started having charging issues (could not turn it on fully charged) and made out a work around that worked for about a month. At that point I thought it could be either "cable gate" or water-problems, both quite known issues, but everything was dry inside. My local Specialized dealer did not respond by email or phone before January and it was resolved in April with a new battery. Did not receive any documentation/explaination that it was a new or used battery. I was without my bike for half a year! Luckily I had just bought my second ebike just before the incident happened, a Canyon - bought online. Just as much fun for less than half the price and I have not had any issues with my Canyons. I would really like to support a local dealer and have just found a great mechanic that sell ebikes. I guess I buy from them next time...

My 2019 KENEVO comp failed after 7 months as well. It was slipping a little, I had it documented at my local dealer and I rode it while the motor was still in working order although defective. When the motor came in it was replaced that same day and I wasn’t charged anything. The whole process was dealt in just under a week and the new motor seems to be much better! The service I’ve received along with my other two friends, whose motors also failed has been exemplary and all our issues have been dealt with in a weeks time. I have friends looking into getting E bikes and the first thing I recommend is a local shop and great customer service since these bikes have the added complexity of a motor, battery and electronics. I purchased my bike at Sunshine Cycle Works in Colechester CT. And Chris took great care of us. Despite the motor issues we all love our SPECIALIZED bikes and based on the customer service and performance of the bikes I would buy from them again.

Funny how people become so invested in a brand that they actively cover up a widely known issue like brose motor failures and even attack the messenger for stating the obvious. Great video. A real service holding Spesh accountable for a huge problem with a very expensive bike.

I have a 2019 Comp (aluminum, purchased Oct 2018. Had 1100 miles on motor which was getting noisier but worked ok). Had a new motor put in in March. It’s has 18/November/ 2019 manuf. date. So we will see how it holds up!

Thanks for the post. Had the exact same issue as described in the video. Good LBS replaced the motor, but if this is truly a "rush to market" scenario, Specialized should be admonished for its behavior. My bike crapped out in the backcountry and it took me several hours to hike out.
