The southern accent evolved or devolved from the cultured upper crust English accent. Who’d a thunk.

Nice catch! Y'all was a very posh word until the poors started using it. Also, ain't is technically correct but I refuse to allow yinz.

As an adult he spoke with a New York accent strong enough to be perceived as an affectation or exaggeration so much so that his friends Wolfgang Pauli and Hans Bethe once commented that Feynman spoke like a "bum"

New York accents are very hard to shake. Mine's almost gone but words like coffee, dog, sure and water give me away all the time. Feynman did have a heavy accent though.

+nickypeeps Is that Lenny Bruce audio on YR? It's the first I've ever heard anyone accuse Burr of joke stealling. In fact, he's railed against it in the past. Hope it's not true, but can't put anything past anybody these days.

pappppie it's called "lenny bruce southern accents". it's not really stealing, though. Einstein is just an overly obvious reference for a smart person. im sure Bill wouldn't have done it if he found out it was a lenny buce joke

+nickypeeps It's in the same strain, but Lenny is dead, and if an audience is going to pay to see his act repackaged, who exactly is taking offense?
Nothing is original, everything is derivative. As far as I knew, its bad form to steal material from other comics and especially if its still part of there show, I'm not sure that extends past there death.
