Certain foods will drain your energy, exhaust your body, and make you feel lazy. But there are also foods that skyrocket your energy levels, lower inflammation, and boost your performance both physically and mentally. The way that food will impact your energy levels is highly based on how easy the food is to digest, how quickly it raises and drops your blood sugar, and what effect the food has on your body composition and health over time. For example, soda can lead to a spike in insulin and blood sugar, providing a temporary burst of energy, but this is quickly followed by a crash in blood sugar levels, leaving you feeling fatigued and drained. On the other hand, the 16 foods that I'm about to go over right now will help you focus more, get more done, and feel so much better overall that you can literally feel like a completely different person.
And for the first food, we have bananas which are an excellent source of complex carbohydrates. Unlike the sugary carbs that you'll find in soda, complex carbs provide a steady and long-lasting supply of energy. These complex carbs are broken down into glucose, the primary fuel for our bodies and brains. But that's not all, Vitamin B6, which is found abundantly in bananas, plays a crucial role in converting food into energy. It's involved in many metabolic processes, including the breakdown of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. On top of that, bananas are rich in potassium, which is an essential mineral that helps maintain proper nerve function and muscle contractions, including the heart muscle. Potassium also plays a role in balancing fluid levels in the body, contributing to overall hydration and energy levels.
Another excellent food that's actually a beverage is bone broth, which can be added to flavor your meals or you can just put it in a cup and drink it while its warm. Bone broth's rich content of gelatin and amino acids, such as glutamine, can help repair and strengthen the gut lining, potentially addressing issues like leaky gut syndrome. A healed gut allows for better nutrient absorption and reduces the entry of toxins into the bloodstream. These toxins alone can wreak havoc on your energy levels but improving your gut health with bone broth can lead to reduced inflammation and improved digestion. With a healthier gut, the body can efficiently absorb essential nutrients, promoting significantly better overall energy levels. As an added benefit collagen, the primary protein in bone broth, is beneficial for joint health and may help reduce joint pain and inflammation, allowing for improved joint mobility.
Next, we have fatty fish, such as salmon, mackerel, and sardines, which are all very effective at increasing and maintaining high energy levels due to their high content of omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3 fatty acids play a crucial role in supporting brain health, and a well-functioning brain is essential for maintaining focus, alertness, and overall mental clarity, all of which contribute to sustained energy throughout the day. These healthy fats also help reduce inflammation in the body, promoting better blood flow and improving cardiovascular health. Improved circulation means that essential nutrients and oxygen are efficiently transported to cells and tissues, optimizing energy production.
Another energy-boosting seafood is Oysters which are an excellent source of iron, zinc, and vitamin B12. These are all essential for producing energy, transporting oxygen, and red blood cell production. Iron is actually crucial for maintaining energy levels because it helps carry oxygen to cells and tissues, meanwhile, zinc supports immune function and aids in the breakdown of carbohydrates for energy. Zinc is also a nutrient that many athletes are deficient in because it's lost through sweat and being deficient in zinc can definitely take a toll on your energy levels.
Next we have beets which boost energy in an entirely different way. Beats are full of nitrates, which are converted to nitric oxide in the body. Nitric oxide plays a key role in vasodilation. Meaning nitric oxide helps widen blood vessels to improve blood flow and oxygen delivery to muscles and organs. This enhanced blood flow can lead to increased endurance, improved energy, and reduced fatigue during physical activity which is why it's common for pre-workout supplements to boost nitric oxide.
Another high-protein food with many energy-boosting compounds is eggs. Not only are they an excellent source of high-quality protein with all 9 essential amino acids needed for various bodily functions, including muscle repair and growth but egg...

Totally agree and that’s essentially how my whole family eats. No processed foods. Fresh, wholesome.
At 60, I’m not yet peaked in weight lifting and train at high level in karate - 28 years now.
Tonight was a high intensity 2.5 hour training session and I feel fresh and energetic afterwards - i could do the class again.
Your guidance is highly effective.

Are you planning to do a video or research on Mitopure or Urolithin A? It would be great to get the perspective of someone who always seems to be unbiased and honest!

Love it 👏👏👏👏👏👍🙏
Great video. What is your opinion on liver or desicatted liver supplements?
One thing I had hoped you would have mentioned with the water is Celtic, Himalayan, or Redmond Real salt. These salts have many minerals unlike normal table salt. The minerals help your body to absorb the water into the cells instead of just peeing it out. This also prevents dehydration and headaches.
Regular table salt is full of sea minerals including iodine which is essential for thyroid function.
Himalayan pink salt is just trendy.
@@cincin4515 actually no regular sea salt and other salt does not have many minerals because of the way they harvest it. The sodium and chlorine elements end up on top when they boil the water to get the salt. After the water is gone they only scrape the top off because they are looser. Both of these materials are very harsh on the body (being that chlorine is poisonous and when sodium touches water it makes hydrogen gas.) But in the heathy salts I mentioned they have many more minerals including sodium and chlorine but the other minerals make the harsh ones safer. If anyone has any questions please let me know I am happy to help 🙂
I didn't know those facts about peppermint. Interesting, thanks! 😊
And do you know that peppermint decreases the level of testosterone which leads to a loss of energy, sex drive and a gain of fat.
Peppermint also lowers testosterone….., do we want that?
Mmm, beets! I just harvested the last of my the beets I grew this year. Normally they would have gone to seed over a month ago.

great video as always...for the cinnamon...might be good to mention getting CEYLON vs CASSIA. CEYLON is much higher quality with less potential negative effects
That's a good point that I had forgotten about. Thank you for mentioning it. What do you enjoy putting your cinnamon on?
watching this video drinking beer and eating crisps. I might be doing it wrong....
Gains Bro 💪
I’m watching this after work to take notes
Cool😊
You don’t mention legumes, including fresh beans and peas. Are these foods good, or are they too starchy? What’s the story on legumes?
Are sugar free mixes, such as flavored singles-to-go, mixed with water considered the same as water? My local water is TERRIBLE, musty smelling and tasting and often strongly smelling of chlorine, so I hate to drink it plain. Any comments or suggestions? Thank you for any help you can give me.
Im renting in rural Australia. Same stink and taste. I bought a Brita water jug and cartridges. It took the funk out for drinking, cooking and kettle. Especially that nasty chlorine stink . I pay $55 AU for 4 cartridges, each cartridge lasting 2.5 months. Im single so its only me. I fill my kettle, 2 large glass jugs and my personal water bottle each day.
It has saved me an absolute fortune on single use plastic bottles and saves me struggling to drag them upstairs to my flat.
Hope this helps. 😊
@@cincin4515 That's a good idea. I never even thought of it. I'm looking into it as soon as i finish this answer. Thank you.

Intermittent fasting yes

I, disagree when it comes to bananas for it increases your melatonin levels and makes you sleepy.
Thanx. I know what to eat for dessert now. Anything that might help me sleep well is my friend.

How did dairy make its way in this list as an adult human we r not supposed to eat dairy just saying not arguing. But overall good list.
I agree that dairy isn’t natural for us, but in limited amounts, it is healthy. Especially Greek yogurt, which is fantastic plain, topped with berries and bananas and a drizzle of honey! Greek yogurt has all of those great probiotics. And…don’t you treat yourself to ice cream once in a while? 😮
@@barbaramayhewflanagan793 no dairy for the human body is good not a little bit is good for u dairy is bad for humans except when there a baby during the feeding months of the mothers milk not milk from other animals u need to know how the human body works dairy is a no period.
Don't poke the bear. Adult toddlers love their stinky rotten milk or "yogurt". They've been brainwashed by the dairy industry into believing their nibs will explode without it.
I don't like bananas
I don't like oysters
I don't like beets
I don't like liver
I don't like coffee
Do I have to hold my nose and eat these anyway or are there more agreeable substitutions?

Bananas are metabolic inhibitors...
That descriptive is a made up oxymoron. Nothing can inhibit a metabolism.
Too bad ion eat bananas💯🤷

I will never fall
Gravity doesn't work on me
I thought peppermint lowers T levels?
Does it matter? Maybe I want sleep, I can eat and drink whatever I want and still fall asleep on COMMAND! Because Energy is a temporary thing and I think I want to? But a majority of the time I don’t! Be a dreamer
Don't be cutting the egg like that...
You need to send this video to vegans.
People don't drink enough water???
Comment number 69!
"Wuder" is essential. Are you from Philadelphia? Thats how we say "water" in Philly.
i don't think that was water when Ron Swanson was taken a swig out of that jug...
No they are not that is a common myth that I can't believe people still hold on to... Out of all the foods with potassium bananas have the least...
Wuter 😂

so much bs... 😑
Bananas are not that high in potassium. A myth. Green bananas are OK(resistant starch). The riper the banana the higher the sugar. Eat berries as they are much healthier.
A 9" banana has 450 MG of Potassium, which is about 12% of the RDA. That is pretty good. 👎👎👎👎👎 for your comment.
Putting caffeine on this list makes me question the whole list. It's well known that caffeine is nothing more than a drug that is more addictive than cocaine.
"It's well known that caffeine is nothing more than a drug that is more addictive than cocaine". Come on. What sorcery is this. Completely disagreed. Coffee (which obviously contains caffeine) has so many benefits. Not to mention that it all comes down to the dose of the particular product.
More addictive than cocaine? Lmfao
Really? More addictive than cocaine? You've never known anyone whose gone through real drug or alcohol withdrawal have you?
Thats quite an offensive statement.
Have you still this parrot
Fish makes me extremely tired
Before drugs
After drugs
If they ask?
Tell them it's just food and exercise 😂
