Oh dear, you must be slightly unfamiliar with classic Mercedes KE JEtronic... The point of that huge angle from 0 to II-III of the ignition key is that you'd need to get a new grip from the key with your fingers after you turn from 0 to II, before turning II to III to run the starter motor, in order to give the fuel pump its chance to pre-feed the fuel system. Might help for you starting delays. You should be able to hear it as long as you don't rush with the starting cycle.
I've had 3 of these. Bought my 3rd one yesterday. If the engine pressure goes to 3 you know your engine is in good condition. It's a shame you have an automatic though lol. Common faults with the electronic window winders you may have to replace them often. Check out for oil leaks which again is a common fault. Overall these cars have bulletproof engines. Not many people understand the true beauty of this over engineered mercedes and it's era.
I love it! I am looking to get a 190E myself. 400 pounds! That's insane :-O A good one in Portugal will set you way past double that. Thank you for sharing this experience :-)
I have a 86 model 2000 cc sportline edition with the automatic gearbox from my dad and a 2.3 16V 91 model. They are in my garage at retirement, waiting for them to reach 40 years old,so they can get the historical number plates. The good thing with those is that they don't have to pay taxes each year. The bad thing about that is the 2 litre oneruns on super gasoline and the fact that i can drive them in specific locations.Greetings from Greece.
Hi bro I love your videos especially the ones on your scooter! Your hilarious and I can't wait for you to get back on a bike hopefully in the near future! Keep up the great work bro
I like these and I am thinking of getting one myself. Renowned for having good build quality these, back when mercs were tanks. Wouldn't have a modern merc, they're just ponce-mobiles!
nice merc! I found u through this video. ive got exactly the same kind of one except its with a 4-speed manual box. and steering on the left of course. The speedometer works only sometimes and got only 203000km on. Im sure the real amount is like 500,000+km cause the rear diff makes some noise. I bought that cause wanted to try a rear wheel drive car for the winter, snow drifting lol. do u do that stuff in England? I'm thinking also making some videos in the winter. Greetings from Finland!
I had a G reg (1990) 2 litre one of these 12 years ago, though a nice ride they are very wind noisy on the motorway and they don't like to be driven hard. I found this out when the mechanic said he needed to replace the clutch and fit four new springs because these cars are on the very heavy side. That model was a 0-60 Mph in 10.3 btw... I do miss that little motor though.
I have an 190e and it's very hard to start + when accelerating it jerks back and forth like it was not getting spark/fuel. Oil pressure is always at 3 aswell I just can't figure out what is wrong with it. already tried replacing OVP relay, spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor hmmmmm
Is this reliable mate? I've been thinking about getting one for a daily but I'm so 50/50 on it. I make frequent trips from Manchester to Kent so would you recommend?
Honestly mate I wouldn't trade this car for anything else. It just works, it's extremely reliable and I've done about 2000 miles already in it and it's been perfect. I haven't had to replace anything, only added a little bit of oil. If this one dies I'm definitely going to buy another
i love this car..but my wife dont like it at all..old fashioned she said..so it will stay my dream car somehow..although i got the money for it...dang ...
18 kills you over there? I know "petrol"is way more expensive over there but i didnt think fuel milage was that critical. My brother daily's a 57 F100 that gets 8 to the gallon.
Haydn Fisher. I really wouldn't mind paying over the limit. I'm a fan of classic cars these things turn eyes. but £11,000 I mean wow its a lot to take in. I appreciate ur offer on quarter the price but u most likely live about 400miles away from me haha.

Old fashioned yes but solidly built buses
How much was tax on the ml
290 a year
Thats expensive for a first car but if you have the money then thats fine but my car is 310
+Nathan Critchley I'm paying for both cars, so about 50 a month on tax alone😬
+Nathan Critchley Yeah, they do need to be replaced soon
+Haydn Fisher that's older than previous one...

I was spending about 80 pounds a week on fuel, that's 320 a month, about $420. With this car it's less than half.
I spend 20 usd a week. And I get about 20 to the gal
You English are soo lucky, the cheapest one I can find in Scotland is £11,000😢😑
Jake Lamotta Feel free to purchase mine for a quarter of that!
