The best use that Link's arrow has is when your opponent picks it up by accident and messes up an attack
What catches me by surprise is not that we have the same ideas, rather that we upload those same ideas in the span of like a week through sheer coincidence 🤣

Wario's bike has always been very funny to me, just imagine trying desperately to return to the ledge but then getting hit by 500 pounds of pure metal and shame
I don't know if it made a video, but I have a vague memory of Marss on stream trying to """"lab"""" peanut pop gun item combos and he found a consistent way to catch it that involved shooting it off stage and monkey flipping towards the blast zone

One thing I think was missed was that for Bowser Jr. you can drop the mechakoopa from midair to more easily pick it up or follow behind for follow-up pressure without running too far after it, which you have footage of but didn't talk about, making it sound like there were really only two ways to pick it up.
I find it hilarious how Robin just kinda discards the Levin Sword once its magic runs out, and uses his regular sword instead... Even though the Levin Sword is STILL a sword even if its magic is gone. Instead of using the one sword, Robin carries around MANY. XD
Maybe the reason why he throws it away is because Levin Sword isn’t very practical as an actual sword(?) Maybe it’s just for conducting magic.

@@lasercraft32 Precisely. Levin Sword is one of the only swords in the FE games that does exclusively Magic damage. And it is C-Rank, so it is pretty much useless for anything else but the magical properties.

Great list! One thing I wish was touched on a bit more was projectile speed and distance. Banjos grenade goes insanely fast and extremely far, where as young links bomb doesnt cover nearly as much distance. Every item has its own base stats of floatiness, speed, and distance that make them better and worse in different ways.
Yeah… I’m a Bowser Jr. main and I actually like the mecha koopa a lot. If you drop it from a short hop or while falling it’s a lot easier to pick up, plus if you don’t it’s pretty nice to pressure opponents who like to stay on the ground. Also, it can cover a nice angle when edge guarding or when returning to stage because it doesn’t have much lag in the air, which is where Bowser Jr. wants to be anyway. That said, I wouldn’t put it in S tier, I think A is a good spot for it

I thought that the argument of "your opponent has just as much of a chance to use it against you" was something most item pulls had in common. Interesting that this question is not obvious for every character!
Some items just have a higher chance of being picked up by the opponent.
Would this perhaps be grounds for a "alternate projectile" tier list to complete the trifecta? Including stuff like the Links' Boomerangs, Samus Super Missile, Fox Laser etc (probably also limited to special moves like the chargeable projectiles since Mega Man is pretty much entirely projectiles).
It's not clear what this category includes.

There’s a Marss video somewhere where he intentionally catches the peanuts as Diddy by launching it off the top platform and following with monkey flip
With jr, if you drop mecha koopa in the air, it spends a little extra time before it walks after hitting the ground which makes it quite a bit easier to grab... still takes a while to be able to act, so its not ideal...but it is something else that can help a lil
Diddy Kong can catch his own peanut on battle field if you are on the top platform, jump up, shoot the peanut, monkey flip towards it and then catch it midair. Not sure if this is enough to move it from F to C tier but yeah
I'm pretty sure he can do it from a side platform as well. It takes too much time to set up and isn't particularly useful
For diddy's peanut, you can catch it if you use it uncharged and are in the air or on a platform and immediately monkey flip to it and you can z-catch it and jump/barrels back to stage.
Is it useful? no.
But can you catch your own nut? yes.
Something to note about Pac-Man's bonus fruit is that unlike most items, the opponent cannot catch it more than once. Once they throw it, it can't be caught again which gives them less opportunities to use it against Pac-Man. Of course Pac himself can keep reusing the same fruit as long as he refreshes it by pressing neutral B again.
something funny about the tree you didn't mention: not only does it have a chance to spawn a piece of wood, but there's an even smaller chance for it to spawn fruit instead that'll heal you
Learning MockRock is a human who likes cooking and a good alcohol pairing made me much happier subscribing. I’m the steak guy of the family and I do like my normal Old Fashions, but you just can not go wrong with a cherry cider or a mojito. Jr. can pick up mecha koopa if he jumps immediately as he inputs down b. It will delay it and you can land right in front of it. But I agree it’s not as usable as other bombs since it takes a minute to come out.
One extra consideration for burst grenade is that you can quite safely summon it against a few projectiles (falco/wolf laser, jolts if the chu isn't running behind it, etc). Using side B right as you get hit will always drop the grenade straight at your feet. Of course using it from there can be a little tricky but I'd say right now it's actually an underexplored aspect of sheik's gameplay

I appreciate that the item for the levin sword is stronger than the one for the tomes. It’s especially funny watching people’s surprise when they get killed by it
Suggestion - ranking every elemental move in the game (fire, water, ice etc) and then based on that figuring out the "best element"
I think it's worth noting that toon link's and young link's bombs are harder to use against them because of the timer, unlike turnip and banana. Especially banana can be used very effectively against diddly, especially because he cannot pull another one when it is out. Furthermore, toon link's bomb has a longer timer than young link's (5.5 s vs 3.5 s) which means he has more time to create situations with it but cannot use it as efficiently for recovery. I don't know how impactful the recovery aspect is, but I would say the timer is a major factor in why I think toon link's bomb is better.
Krool crown is F tier for himself, but high tier for others. Its decently powerful and can provide characters w/o projectiles something to use against a spamming Krool, but its also very good at edgeguarding Krool's recovery if you throw it down by ledge
Omg it’s time!! ❤ loved the video just enjoying some of the items and seeing what value they hold. A few things of note I though I should add. Wario losing the tire as items as well means (brawl) means that Wario letting his bike be attacked is strict downside. A valid thing of note but I think it would be a cool trade off now that he can’t get the bike back instantly. A second item after the bike is gone but again, no side b. Nextly is bowser jr. There’s a simple but weird tech that lets you drop an item out of an air dodge for different angels, nobody uses it tho because zdropping. This is besides for bowser jr who can get some setups out of if being as he can’t drop the mecha koopa when he’s outside of his kart. It gives a bit more get off me tricks for if people try and gimp him so while tricky to set up it’s something that’s nice that the small tech is on a character with an item to use it. Anyways great list as always and im excited for 2024
Ngl I wanted to see maybe an ordering on the best items in S tier, especially when even those moves have counterplay hence why I believe link bomb is the best item imo

a reminder that the gyro can tank other projectiles for you, and when on the ground can even take a charge shot to the face
the top also does more damage the faster it is moving
it can actually take damage and knockback much like the sandbag
the lifespan only goes down when touching the ground so it can stay in the air indefinitely

Mechakoopa can be deployed in the air, and then caught immediately when it hits the ground, because it takes longer for it to start walking
im a diddy main, u can grab the peanut if u : place diddy at the ledge>double jumb > neutral B without charge> fast fall >Run> dash attack.Not really usefull but sometime i do it when my openant have my banana and play supersafe,so i can take the time to pull it and contest the banana with the peanut.

With some i did not even know of the item part, like the peanut and the Sheik bomb, interesting.
With Wario, you can also have the situation of the bike being further away, which also prevents you from using it, this happens kinda often on more casual play
Lastly, Ultimate is out for an while, but still has interesting things about it for me at least

You guys remember the start of ultimate where people thought link was gonna be nerfed with the remote bombs and yet it’s one of the big things that contributed to ultimate link being the best version of link in all of smash?
The Sheik burst grenade placement makes me so sad because in context, you're 100% right, but without context, Sheik's combo game is absolutely absurd with the grenade in hand. The fact that it does almost no knockback means that when you throw it, all you're really doing is slightly extending hitstun, which is all she needs to take some combos from great to amazing. If only she could actually have it consistently lol
There's pons and cons to the short fuse on Grenade Egg, it's a nice recovery boost and creates some Hot Potato situations.
They can't however use it as a super good OoS tool, especially since it doesn't blow up on hit like Snake's. BK's OoS is on the Meh side, so kinda of a shame there, but it's got so many other pros in others that it's huge crutch to gameplan.

I think this is important to consider. That and the slightly clumsy pickup method would have me put Banjo's in B tier.

As a Daisy player I've had tourney matches where I've pulled 3 or 4 bombs in a game. Rng is crazy at times
Wario gets a lot more synergy off of Bike than you listed, especially with how it works with Chomp. It already gives Wario a very slight heal and a way to get rid of the bike fast so he can use it after the cooldown, but chomping an item also cuts off a second and a half of Waft’s full charge timer, and even though broken bike parts can’t be thrown anymore like in Brawl, they can all still be chomped, cutting down even more of Waft’s charge time. It’s not a crazy amount, but I wouldn’t call it an insignificant amount either and it means players are forced to approach Wario so that he can’t heal and more importantly, get to use Waft even more in a match by just constantly tossing bike out just to eat it
Granted I doubt it’ll change Bike’s placement, but it’s something cool, albeit niche, to bring up about it and how it synergizes with Wario’s kit in ways unique from other item pulls

As a person that doesn't know how to use tilt attacks properly, king k rool's crown actually helps me. And I mean that in king k rool's perspective.
This tierlist is the main reason Sandbag should become a playable fighter. Imagine what would happen with a fighter that can summon any standard item in a competitive match.

I think Mega Mans MB should be in a higher tier cuz you cancel leaf shield with it. And airdrop MB is an amazing shield pressure move.
If the Beetle was a spawnable projectile it'd be Brawl Meta Knight
another big flaw of Metal Blade is the fact that the hitbox is quite small compared to the actual item, not even covering the blade part, making it super easy for the opponent to catch (which happens a ton by accident). However the Metal Blade can lead to some of Mega Man's most high-damaging combos and it his go-to for confirms, overall having a lot of versatility
I know you can't really take it into consideration for the tier list, but Kirby actually gets out-of-sheild kill confirms if he's holding link's arrow or mega man's metal blade, and he can spawn these himself with copy ability

Technically, the Belmont’s holy water is *always* an item. Using their down special counts as “grabbing” an item and then throwing it. You can see in the end-of-match statistics.

I actually used to main Link back in Brawl and SSB4 but after the switch to the remote bomb, it's an amazing tool but just one that I can't fully grasp the way other players do. So when Byleth released, I switched to them instead. They have an equally difficult Down B for me to use but I definitely the big super axe over an item.
I'm also a *very* casual player so take what I say with a grain of salt, I'm by no means a good enough player to consider things like tournaments or optimal combos
Fun fact, Diddy Kong’s down air is actually the second strongest spike in the game. Which is pretty damn crazy considering it combos from nair, up air and banana. It’s a bit silly

Now a question. If you judge these moves in Vacuum, what would the best one be? Cus Turnips are S tier but on Peach's kit. I still believe banana would be the best one. No character wouldn't benefit from it.
Holy water as an item is pretty good, it does combo into stuff and it is incredibly fast when z dropped.
I won't deny the downside of people being able to SDI out of it, but younare able to dash back before using forward smash to try and hit the sweet spot while also giving you a wider range due to being able to shift its angle. Also up smash, I don't know how often people do that, but I've found that running up and using it can be a more reliable kill option due to virticle kill options being more consistent.
Despite all of holy waters flaws, I'm mostly fine with how it is. The only change that I immediately want is for Richter to be able to b reverse it, because for some reason he can't.
Simon too of course, but I don't think that would be enough to put him on Richter's level, after all, Red Pikmin dominate him.
I love fighting against cpu level 9 diddy kong cause I can just grab their bananas and set up my kill confirms.
This shouldn’t change anything about the ranking at all but actually in my experience the double arrow from link sends at a much better angle for edge guarding if you charge it a bit whereas links regular charged arrow is less than stellar

You can grab the peanut when using it and than using the faster side b in the air, works on the top platform of battlefield. Completely useless but hey it’s possible

You can actually grab the peanut yourself if you do a full hop then shoot it and smash input monkey flip and then you can z catch

One the biggest hopes I have for if they bring back K.Rool in the next game is for them to either completely remove the item component from it or allow him to use the item rather than it just being something the opponent can use. It's such a stupid thing to tack onto his kit, especially since all it does is make the character worse than he should be.

I'm very late so im sure its been said in comments already, but I think Link arrow is a slight bit better than you credit it for since the double shot will actually beat a lot of reflector moves. Enough to bump it up a tier? Nah. But a cool detail that will absolutely matchup check a lot of spacie players in particular...

Item projectile combos are cool, even though I can’t do any of them.
Between how exploitable it is for your opponent to use, how long it takes for the Mechakoopa to become active after using VS Banjo's Egg Grenade being active faster than most tilts, the considerable end lag, and it not having as many follow-ups putting Mechakoopa in the same tier as the Links' bombs doesn't make any sense to me personally. I think B tier would make sense because it can be useful in some situations, but its setup is very awkward and the move overall isn't very good.
