Transphobic Heckler Ruins His Own Life - Steve Hofstetter
    Featuring Jon Bander, Eben Parker
    ------
    EDIT:
I wanted to post an update of something I got wrong. The tatted up guy at the end of the video had a VERY different story than the one that was told to me.
Turns out he was not only at the show, he was a fan AND the guy that first got the attention of the police. He was so heated because he is part of the LGBTQ community and had been assaulted previously - so when he saw it potentially happening to a few trans women, he grabbed a cop who was stopped at a light, ran back to the theatre, and got in between the transphobe and the women. He wasn't trying to escalate as much as he was trying to be the one to take the seemingly inevitable punch. And he left when the cops got there because he was the one who called them over in the first place.
I was told he was a bystander who just hopped in the fray, and I understand why the folks who didn't know him thought that. In their eyes, he showed up out of nowhere and ran in - but really he was running back to protect folks from sharing the same fate he'd already experienced.
Anyway, my apologies go out to him. And know that if I ever get something wrong in a video, I am happy to correct it.

I'm a single father of 3 girls. When they were young and on my own, I had to help them use the restroom when out in public. I'm not going into the women's bathroom nor am I going to ask a complete stranger to watch them while they went in by themselves. I had only one option, take them into the men's room with me and absolutely nothing ever has happened because everyone in there wants to use the restroom and leave.

exactly. no one wants to do nature's call out in open public; it's not only unsanitary in a developed, civilized city, it's downright weird. we already have to put up with that from the doggos and the horsies since they don't know any better compared to houseapes, but we are willing to clean up after our animal companions.

My daughter is trans, she's trying SO hard just to get through life, she's a fantastic student at a top college in Washington D.C., she doesn't want to "groom" anyone, she wishes she was like everyone else, she doesn't wish her issue on anyone else, it's crazy. NOBODY wants to be trans but it happens. Nobody wants to be a diabetic or have a physical or mental illness but it's part of life and you try to live with your "affliction" as best you can.
The trans people I know are just keeping their heads down and trying to get through life, it's very challenging for all of us.

I’ve worked in Child Protection for 7 years and specifically in Domestic and Family Violence for going on a further 3 years. That’s a decade of talking to children who’ve been through the worst of things. Of holding space for women who were abused as children. In ten years of five days a week, 8 hours a day professional work where it is my job to seek out these stories, I have yet to encounter a single case of a trans person perpetrating this crime.
In fact from recollection, the only trans people involved in the cases I’ve worked have been the victims of this crime.
Has it ever happened? Yeah. I’m sure it has. Humans do some horrific stuff and some of them probably identify as trans. But does it happen enough to prevent an entire group of people from being treated with dignity and respect? No. It just doesn’t. We need to move past this as a society.
If it makes you uncomfortable because it’s new and you don’t have much experience with trans issues, I think many would agree that’s okay. But if it makes you uncomfortable and you think therefore it needs to be outlawed, you’re the one who concerns me.

What I don't understand is why people seem to have a problem with trans people "possibly" doing this stuff, but never even talk about Catholics, Mormons or even just regular families. I watch a lot of interrogations on CZcams and there's so many cases of cis men doing things to their daughters. Does this get talked about? No. Why? Hell if I know. The world is changing. People who grow up in violent families never learn coping mechanisms, so when things change, they become violent. They learned at an early age to use violence to get what they want, so their prefrontal cortex never has a chance to develop. They are, at a neurological level, childish. And frankly, I'd rather have someone who can think about things running things and not someone who hasn't learned self control and introspection. This video shows a symptom of a bigger problem. People are afraid of what they don't know. Which is fine. That's how we survived the Savanna and kept from getting eaten by tigers. But they make a choice to live in fear and respond with violence. They don't seek understanding or truth. Only rage, power and violence. If you don't care about truth, I really have no interest in what you have to say about anything. You tell me your name, how do I know that's the truth? Ya know? People like this guy don't get to this point overnight. It will be a long time before he grows up. I just hope some day he can look at this night as a learning experience. He will probably be in and out of prison and a judge will make him take anger management classes and get sober. He will probably piss off the wrong person and get beaten within an inch of his life. And when his aggression alienates everyone in his life and he's faced with homelessness, he will evaluate what got him to that point. He will numb his pain with drugs and spend many years in prison. It will probably take 10-30 years before he figures this stuff out and changes. I make these predictions because I've seen it happen with an old neighbor.

They actually kinda are afraid of trans people, just not in the same way as an actual psychological phobia. It's called transphobia because people like the guy in the video get roped into all the fear mongering saying that trans people are sexual predators, degenerates, worshippers of satan, and that they want to transify your kids. All that is to paint this picture of trans people as some kind of threat to society. This scary boogieman who is somehow weak and strong at the same time.

physical abuse and neglect are not the same as sexusl stuff. Nice try with that bs. Cant square twisted info. And when did people say thats the only reason? If we need a 3rd bathroom for the confused people, so be it. But leave us regular people out of it. We are fine with a girls room and a boys room. Look at your birth certificate if you need help. 👍🇺🇸

@@c7adventures376 Yeah, when the pitchforks start rising and the hive-mind is triggered, most vehement supporters don't feel any need to have truly-valid points.
One can walk in to such a group and saysomething akin to , "YEAH! Jupiter aligns with Mars and these old men with sexual issues need to be let into these restrooms!"
and the mob pat you on the back and agree... (only minor hyperbole).
When in groups, each side, the left AND the right, are so often just utterly mob-minded and won't even entertain the possibility that there even might be any part of another perspective that has validity. Any genuine analysis is interrupted by insults (from the one who has the weaker position) and things
devolve into a immature low iq insult-fest.
For instance, I imagine this guy in the audience was essentially saying that:
IF A FATHER IS ACCOMPANYING HIS YOUNG DAUGHTER IN A MEN'S ROOM, HE CAN PROTECT HER. But if we have adult men going into private rooms with LONE young females, it may have the potential to produce not-so-positive results... even if it is something as minor as lewd exposure.
But the mob superimposes some nonsensical overgeneralized narrative in an effort to illustrate a simplistic black-and-white, good-vs-bad picture for the idiots to emotionally rally behind.
      edit

It is like a rule -- When people obsess about sexual topics and attack others for their perceived faults, thoughts, or motivations, you can bet the house that there is some perverted shit going on in their dirty little minds. When you hear someone straining on the toilet in the stall next to you and saying, "Please, father, I'll be good. I promise," you know that guy is a vocal opponent of books that contain words like "hormone", "turgid", or "feminine hygiene product" and is probably on the school board.

Since you are living under difficult circumstances and in case you don't know, if you're in America or Canada, the n11 system, that 911 is part of, also has 211, which is for non-emergency crises. (These n11 short codes and the n11 plan itself are all documented on Wikipedia.) 211 connects to your local crisis community line where in some communities has help and others, they don't have much. It's helped me in here in the Seattle area with the electricity bill and for one of my friends with the rent and dental care.
They can even use the international phone call translators: I helped a caregiver of mine get a cancer check-up using her first language, Tagalog, which was comforting to her because she understood the process better.
When they wanted to create a three-digit code for a suicide hotline, all the n11 numbers were taken by the n11 system, so based on the most famous 911, a couple years ago they created 988.
