Everyone just needs to quit these types of companies so they stop "informing" you that you're nothing but an indentured servant.
But that is all America does , they dont build or make CPUs for example , Intel only designs them , and Taiwanese build them . Same is for Germany now they only Design Mercedes China is building them and other countries . Financial products , software , and military is only what America does , so if you are not a soldier you need to be in office . Yes there are support industries but those are only support and surviving only because Government lets them . Like Mc Donald's and brews , drinks , those are just support , you have to have them , but its not where the money is made , so if you are American and don't want an office better get 10 other people in office that will get you out of office but you will have to force those people in the office , and this will reflect up on you . This is my opinion maybe im wrong but i see 3 types of American , soldier , worker for a low wage , and office guy ... and elites in the Government those i dont count , those can be found in any country .
First thing they show to entice people to the office: traffic. 🤣
I hate the fact that we're basically risking our lives getting into car accidents, just for "culture" and "spontaneous converstaion"
@@user-hm9is5ke9i The amount of times I'm just relieved to make it back in one piece. 'Cause I had a rough night and was exhausted by the end of the day. It's incredibly frustrating to hear executives reason that 'culture' or 'spontaneous conversation' is why they want us the kill ourselves getting into the office!
I love spending extra hours every day commuting to do the same work you could do at home. Waste of time and money
why are u risking your lives plus what's with the car accident thing ?
@@JC-fd8ho You don't think driving on a freeway full of sleepy commuters for between 30 mins to 2 hours is dangerous? People die in traffic accidents you know
At the very least you're risking your car and the company won't help you if you have to repair it because of them forcing you into an office for work you could 100% do at home
@@JC-fd8homost accidents on the highway or interstate in the morning and evening are people traveling to and from work.
"Unfortunately, too big of a group hasn't returned."
What a condescending and out of touch thing to say by this "leader"
The CEO couldn't make it more clear that he doesn't talk to his employees one-on-one and instead shelters himself in his ivory tower and barks orders.
Then, like you pointed out Dorian, their executives explain all of the benefits of being back in the office while they themselves are all recorded on green screens outside of the office! 😂😂
What a clown show 🤡
My company sent a threatening email to everyone saying you'll face disciplinary action if you don't come atleast 2 times a week or 3 for the more senior employees... What ends up happening is you still have meetings over ZOOM 'cause everyone's in at different times!!!
Even before covid, all of my meetings were on Skype, now TEAMS. With design centers across the country, there was no way to have face to face meetings. Most interaction with files in the office had nothing to do with program work. Program related conversations were always over Skype with screen sharing as this was easier than looking over a single screen.
They can't let those big office buildings go empty!! 😅
As a soon to be self-employed Cyber Security consultant. I cannot go back to the office. In fact, it is because of remote work that I am able to manage my time better and get valuable hours back, focusing on things that matter. Remote work is the essence of work/life balance.
I just see a big opportunity for other companies to poach top talent from these draconian micromanaging employers. Let them continue this and you'll see a big turnaround in no time. 100% Remote work opportunities will get the attention of top talent and allow companies to fill the role without too much effort. To all employees who are going thru this, Always update/upgrade your skill-set so you are always in high demand and able to leverage opportunities like this.
I spent 20 years in the military and after retirement I transitioned into software development after being self-taught. It was a definite culture shock with the passive aggressive thing, lol. I'm much more used to people being direct and brutally honest (often with a lot of profanity thrown in for good measure, haha). That, and co-workers always seem so apologetic when asking you to do something that's exactly what you're paid to do. It can be a bit unnerving, but I've learned to just accept it, lol.
I only did 5 years in the military, but yeah the transition into civilian corporate culture was quite a shock.
This was 15 years ago now, but when my cousin retired from the Army, he transitioned to a civilian supervisory position. He complained about how much people questioned him rather than just doing what he said, and I told him, “baby, we’re civilians. It don’t work like that here.” 😂
Lol. Civilian pride in the face of a boot is refreshing. Though in this current war of information and in this blatant police state, few of us are civilians anymore. And ironically, civilian is a military designation.
We are unwilling, though some of us highly capable, soldiers.
Did I say soldiers? Those take orders. I meant warriors. A warrior operates on her code of honor.
Elon Musk did the same thing, but in 30 minutes he pulled the video from the site he had it on. Then he went on an interview telling the host that he does NOT like
people who work from home and that he demands DEMANDS everyone to come to work, or be fired. When he said that, Elon lost 40% of his workers.
He was forced to post job openings because he lost 40% of his workforce after announcing the demand to come in to work.
It was all over the news by the way.
He still has fanboys. It’s a mystery.
He "lost" 40% of the workforce? Pretty sure he FIRED 90% and they tried to sue him to get their jobs back. Twitter is not an example of what this video discusses because it was a company full of totally useless people before Elon.
@@CoryPchajekWhy exactly do people hate him so much? I don’t fully understand. Is it because he’s a billionaire who isn’t some leftoid?
@@CoryPchajek A lot of Elon's fanboys hate tech workers because they conflate them with Google and Facebook
@@CoryPchajek Those Ashlee Vance books pay off, after all.
Not a single person in this video looks happy or healthy at all lol
They probably are not. I work in an office job. Hate going to thw office once a week.
I do too (remote since 2020 though), just find it hilarious overall how they all look like they're on their deathbeds.@@raf686
“Unfortunately too big of a group hasn’t returned.” “We’re not asking you, we are informing you”, “And that’s why I as CEO of InternetBrands is resigning because not even I could bother going to the office”
If we just started converting office space into affordable housing and letting people work remotely, our economy would improve massively for the working class.
Really? You can't get affordable housing in the middle of the woods, but you can get affordable housing in the middle of the "business district" LOL
My employer has gone the other way. Uncapped WFH days, if your supervisor wants you in the office they have to justify it. It's great working at a place where the employees are trusted
You're right, you can tell they're not in the office themselves because the audio quality is so poor. They were using webcam audio. If they were in the office they would all have been recorded on the same boom or lavalier mic and would have consistent, high quality sound.
I 98% hate going back to the office. I do like my coworkers though. I don't like the commute, and I get distracted too often in the office. Plot twist is I'm one of the owners of the company, and this is the only way certain employees stay on task throughout the day. I've found some people need to work in groups to be productive. And we're only in office 2 days per week, but that's still too much for me.
If my company asked me to return, I think I would just quit xD
I’m at the end of my career and just love remote work. I would retire before going back to the office after four years.
I laughed hard, even though it's not funny, because your commentary was hilarious! They went with the level of deception done by Kevin MacAllister. And all the CEO's look like they have no life in them at all. The corporation took it all. They have no power if nobody listens to them. They went viral for the wrong reasons. Let's hope they make a sequel. 🤣🤣🤣
"Act like you're working"
"Bro, I AM working."
Spot on with the RTO shenanigans. The same companies that put up record numbers in '21 overstate their goals for '22 and miss by a lot. It must be because folks are remote.
I just can’t stop
Laughing! They had me at the drawer full of Peet’s Coffee. 😂😂😂
I expect that getting a video like that from my employer would cause me to search for a new job right away. Even though I actually miss the coffee at the office.
"I’m informing you that I want you to" - no, that’s not equivalent. You’re much nicer than the CEO. The equivalent would be "I’m informing you that you are now going to clean your room".
OFFICE SPACE!!! CUBICAL LIFE!!!! MATRIX!
6:11 That Passion, seeping right through the GREEN SCREEN SCREEN!
Not related to remote work, but related to this cringe video.
I used to work in IT Ops for a company in NZ that was acquired by a USA company, which inherited this kind of corporate garbage coming from global HR. I lasted two months before I ditched the place and went to work for a local company instead.
I stopped going to the early BS meetings which achieved nothing, and my boss in the US didn't even speak to me once. During the meetings, no one listens to you anyway, they're just loud mouth fake people all one upping each other on how far they can shove their head up their managers arse.
Apologies to people in the USA but corporate America is SUCH a joke, it's hilarious how fake everyone is. I am shocked that these companies even stay in business, if they treat employees like crap how the hell do they make any money? What a joke.
I laughed a lot. One the one hand, your comments on the videos are hilarious and hit the mark. On the other hand, the corporate video is truly a dramedy. It is like your PR guy is asked to make a video with the title "How NOT to do it". And somehow I feel sorry for this poor HR manager. Because if someone asks me as a team leader to get back my team to the office, I had to reply: Well, they live in another state and if you want to get the number of team member to zero, let's do it! - Regards from Germany. This was fun as hell.
My company has forced us back to a hybrid schedule where we can only telecommute 5 times every two weeks. The result (besides acrimony and pervasive loathing) is that People get sick one day every two weeks, and we are still doing team meetings even if all the people involved in the meeting are physically in the stupid building. so... 10% less staff availability harder retention, zero value gain.
Lol u posted this almost 4am. This breakdown was great. I am WFH and hope I dont ever have to live that cringe again.
Hahaha. I was actually covering my face with my palms during this video. I can't.
Joshua fluke vibes. I like this
My company went the other way. We are a full remote company. we have an office you can use and we get together for parties their but they really embraced the full remote unlimited pto mentality
This was hilarious!! I really love the collaboration speak and the "this isn't a request" line at the end. There is a lot I would like to say to this, as well as other corporate entities, but won't. Simply somone has to make that office space a good return on investment. All I'm saying.
You keep calling this passive-aggressive, but there’s nothing passive about it. “We mean business” and “don’t mess with us” is openly aggressive. So is “We”re not asking.” This is how gangsters talk to people when they’re demanding protection money.
Guy with camera on gimbal:
" ok, I'm filming.... ACT like you're working"
Me: " ok, just ask the boss to walk past my desk"
haha they'll call Steve over 😅
The entire mentality of producing this video makes me certain.... I never want to ever go in that fucking office.
"I AM working"
"We know but like...ACT like you're working."
Lol
"Toxic avenger".
X)
I feel second hand embarassement by the level of cringe in that video! Keep up the good work Dorian, love your content!
keep making more corporate related video its very entertaining
The Greenscreen too 🤌 Even THEY aren't in the office 👀
"This place REEKS of insecure corporate shame."
This made me remember an old Director I used to have it: always very passive aggressive.
This video was directed by the campus kids who did ''better caul saul'' promo video
I love your awkward corporate dance at the end. 😂😂😂
It's not easy being green.
"Sure boss. I'll meet you at the office." These companies are in trouble with or without an office. The management all look like they need to bathe, wash and press clothes.
The CEO reminds me about Mr. Burns. If they can't hide they toxic management in this video, I can't imagine how it was when all the employees were there. As you said they all look like hostages, even when they are just in front of a green screen. But what was even the real purpose behind this video? Justifying the need of a huge empty space? Letting the management play with their subordinate employees again? Finding an excuse to fire those who don't comply?
Mr. Burns?? lol 🤣🤣You're right lol
20% pay increase for hours worked in the office.
I worked for Internet Brands and liked the experience. I was in the office and spent maybe 10 percent of a 40 hour week doing actual work. The pay is shit but had a lot of fun. I left after another company poached me with a 40 percent pay raise.
" The job was okay, I didn't really do anything so I wasn't challenged to grow and develop, but at least the pay was shit!"
CEO’s & other high level executives only want their employees to go back to their offices because they want to micromanage employees, but also for real estate related reasons. Have you noticed that the “Iko Iko” song was used in the first Hangover movie?
There are theories as to why companies want employers to come to the office. It includes some of the reasons you listed, like "some people moved states and don't even live near the office anymore," this would cause some people to quit so the companies don't have to pay severances/other pay. Given the economic slowdown I wouldn't doubt this may play a role as to why they're implementing this
The level of cringe in this video, is the most cringiest of cringes I have ever seen on the whole internet this year so far…
My cringe-o-meter just went Chernobyl mode with that video.
Working in the office means people needs gas for their vehicles (non electric) to pay, more electricity in the office to pay, more coffee to order, and many more. All that happens just to have more taxes to pay so the government have more money to gain
I'm currently creating an app that allows you to book seats in the office and invite colleagues. There's no obligation to come into the office, but you can see who's there.
The open office concept they have was developed by paranoid micromanaging control freaks so they could easily look over the shoulders of every employee. I would never accept an offer if i saw this coming in for an interview.
I had a shared quad office once. First thing i did was flip my desk around with my back to wall, and facing the doorway. I really don't like having my back to the door. My life experience taught me to always be aware and protect myself.
Open office spaces are also loud. This forces employees to put on noise cancelling headphones to block it out. That pisses off bosses who want to yell to employees rather than get off their arses.
The cringe is off the charts
So freakin hilarious 😂
Should be called IBS
This was funny as hell 😂😂
That company gives me squid game vibes 😅😅😅😮😮😮
Ahhh this guy is cooked.
😂 I’d fail dancing on CZcams before dancing in a video like that. Even if they let me keep working from home and tripled my salary 😅
Here's the answer to them : GFY, thank you
check out their c-suites experience. They basically went from uni to c suite. No real frontlines work experience. Probably a bunch of silver spoons. Next, mature giant enterprise corporations do not use terms like "crush the competition", or any aggressive or sports talk (ie aggressive) language in terms of competition. If they're caught actually crushing the competition, they risk a lawsuit. It's ok to compete, but you can't focus on the demise of your competition. This isn't my opinion, it's VP level legal counsel's opinion from multiple corporations you're all familiar with and likely use every day.
My grandma and your grandma
Were sittin' by the fire
My grandma told your grandma
"I'm gonna set your flag on fire." Look at my king
All dressed in red
Iko, Iko, an day
I betcha five dollars
He'll kill you dead
Jocomo fee nan nay
Why do all CEOs look like they're auditioning for the American Psycho Broadway play?
When I saw this for the first time, I legit thought they were trolling. Then I realised they were serious...you can't make this stuff up that's how bad it is xD
What I found really funny on this video is the music. In Switzerland we have a song called "ohni Znacht is bett" (go to bed without Dinner). It's an earworm with the same soundtrack as far as I can tell in a part of the song. Translated (not professional of course) it would make it something like: come home, come home, come home come home right now. Come home, box on the ear (new expression for me for a slap the face.) And then to bed without dinner. Of course it doesn't rhyme as nice as in Swiss German but the whole video I had to think on this song. Cracked me up
I love the last bit where they dance. Ironicly looks like it has been filmed over video call.
6:11 its not even a teleprompter, he's looking off to the side - where they probably had a windows xp machine running some outdated software of some kind.
8:47 yeah, I would not rely on solely chatgpt for medical and legal advice. Maybe query it to get a surface level understanding, but always consult a professional. Chatgpt often still gets information wrong, and only knows the scope of your physical/legal condition within the scope of what you ask it. If there is a detail that you do not know that is left out of the prompt, how do you know it is right? Plus, you never know if the knowledge it provides is based on some unreliable research conducted with 20-person sample or it’s general, reliable and documented guideline, legal or medical.
Granted you were probably referring to solely using chatgpt vs webMD. But you said "I use chatgpt for all my medical and legal advice", which I initially interpreted as only using chatgpt and not going to a lawyer or Dr. for advice.
It was a joke...
Empty office buildings are causing an economic collapse. Like 2008 but 10x worse.
Yep. A+ Was scanning the comments to see who would get this. Very Grim Numbers ahead.
The main issue with RTO aside from the commute and sitting behind a desk is the forced culture/fun part of the mandate. You're forced to conform and have to interact with people you probably don't like on a day to day basis. Complimentary gourmet coffee and yoga isn't going to soothe a toxic work environment.
I'm laughing through this whole vid 🤣
nah. uh uh. haha
No doubt everyone in this video has posted a fake inspirational story to LinkedIn
Corporate America "F*@k you get back in the office"
Also corporate America "We're a family here and we love you, here's a stale bagel and some awful coffee"
Its a croma😂😂😂😂😂
I am sure the remote workers said no and quit then an hour later got the remote job back or found another one
my guess is they are heavilly invested in the realestate which they cant really rent now...
The thing is… some people really don t know how to work from home and are highly unproductive
Worst company to work for. High turnover.
What I don’t get why do ceos want people back people working on office means they have to pay for Goulding rent electricity and water bill of everyone works home then company doesn’t need to pay rent
Times have changed. Remote first👍
Hate when people say “ cringe” just say gross
were not asking were informing - ya basic corp speak for were ordering
Could someone somehow get that CEO back into reality? He cannot demand fuck all, he will have to negotiate or he will find himself without his staff.
Who would want to work for a narcissist gasball like that?
My job can be done from home they want me in office everyday and twice on sat lol 😂
Naw I’m pushing the hybrid remote 3 days in off two days home
Nice Toxie reference.
Afterwards I realized he wasn't as green as I remembered him to be but still thought it was funny
Easy! Keep folks working remotely, save that money from the office building monthly rent. Take that money and give it out as a bonus to the low level remote employees.. that'll motivate and keep people happy.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 sons of a hypocritical ceos
and the statement: "we can achieve more with face-to-face" well - thats what zoom is - its face to face literally... this company has b ig culture problem....
why do u they want them back in the office aren;'t they doing their jobs from home what's their problem
If they/we weren't doing our jobs we'd be fired... For some reason rather than let go of the office building all of these companies want to force people to commute to them
Don't take this the wrong way, but you really became like Joshua Fluke. Love the realism :)
Good fucking lord......
😂 wtf 👏👏👏
as bad as the Apple mother nature video
😂🤣
Has anyone ever told you, you look like Johnny Sins?
Half these guys look like they did this as hostages. It's crazy to make a video about coming back to the office while you're not there yourself. The dancing was way too cringe.
Sounds like a BoomerX idea 😂
😂😂😂👌
