    The unsung hero of any auto mechanic is the lower back. I had no idea till I started working on cars.

    I like how simple you keep things. No need to pull out the picoscope everytime something is wrong. A decent scanner and knowledge will go a long way. Your a great mechanic for sure. Great video as always!! I agree with you about snap on btw, you dont have to pay ridiculous prices for tools, but i promise not all tools are created equally. It doesnt have to be snap on, but it doesn't have to be the cheapest tool possible either. There is a balance between the two.

    Hear, hear, glad to hear you talk about tools. Glad you have the same feeling about tools as I do. My go to brand is Husky. I own Harbor Freight, Gear wrench and other Miscellaneous brands. I'm so sick of Snap-on, Matco and Mac Tools. They are not worth the money. I repaired my head gasket on my 1995 Toyota 4Runner with mainly Husky tools. The only tool I had problems with was with a Titan 1/2 socket wrench which I had just purchased from Amazon. The Titan wrench just stripped out. Back to Amazon it went..

    i am still in college and the first tool i bought was a hercules electric 3/8 ratchet. I got one with a long head because the short ones weren't available. I figured that tool would be the tool i use the most. Its the longest ratchet i have making it great a breaker bar sometimes.

    As a 9 year mechanic I would say quality tools make the job less of a hassle but it’s not impossible to do it with low quality tools. Snap on, definitely the best. All of my wrenches and pliers are snap on and I have not had to warranty any in the entirety of my career yet. Trying to remove the spring clamps with crappy pliers is a pain. I have cheap tools at home I used for side work but have since upgraded to icon because their copies are so good. I definitely recommend using icon, sunex or any of the cheaper than “pro” alternatives because they will most definitely work just as good as the big dollar tools. On a final note I bought a duralast 24mm from Autozone to complete my at home wrench set since my icon only went to 19 and I had 21 and 22 from an old gear wrench set (replaced because I lost several) and unfortunately the open end does fit on 24mm fasteners but the box end no chance 😂😂😂.

      Good advice. I definitly want a nicer quality set, but can't see myself ever paying for snapon

      This is the bigger problem with snap on guys. Snap on, nor anyone else is the best in every tool. Few quick examples off the top of my head would be Autel scanner, Milwaukee 1/2 inch Impact, and knipex pliers.

    Learning his own 'what to avoid' is money in your bank! Do what a mechanic learned when you fix your own vehicle!

    What happened to the black tool box? Haven't seen it in months in your videos. Just wondering. Was it not a good idea to have it in the back of the truck.

      I didnt use it enough. I ended up just putting tools in the bed so much I just moved it to the big truck for tool storage rn. until that is running.

    Hey Ernest, just wanted to ask what are the best ways to get customers as a mobile mechanic. I’m going back to school and quite frankly working 50 hours/week for 18.5 an hour isn’t gonna work for me. Thank you for any advice

    • @Smokeyfilms_
      @Smokeyfilms_ Před 6 měsíci

      Bro 18.5 is a good wage, you gotta budget better and eat cheaper or divorce ur wife 😅😅

      @daltonk52 Před 5 měsíci

      @@Smokeyfilms_it’s hard to make it on 18.5 an hour I can’t make it anything under 27 hr and at least 40 hrs a week nowadays when I was a kid I could make it on 10hr but things have changed lol kids and a wife are expensive

    Tools are a pain in the rear I’ve been a mechanic for almost 10 years and still spending a lot on tools I just recently switch to a German dealer so I’ve been getting a lot of torx and triple squares
