5 For the white side
I was not expecting the iridescent Orange Creamsicle vibe. What a complete difference the base makes! Thanks!
you mean salmon vibe
That's exactly what I thought it looked like. Orange creamsicle or an icy metallic peach.
The white side may have been harder to cover but it looks amazing, like a dreamy sunrise inside a orange cream dream.
Wow!!!! 🔥
I liked both sides, but I was surprised at how much I liked the white base side more than the black side! It's just so unique, you don't see cars that color on the road! Someone else called it an iridescent orange creamsicle, and now that's all I can see! 5/5
Ok that’s truly mind blowing. The white side looks like a creamsicle with subtle shifts but the black side doesn’t even look like the same pigment. It’s crazy
Now someone has the pleasure of driving this two color car around for a week!
I think I actually like the white a little more simply because it's more unique than the dark side but both got their charm, would've certainly loved to see it on a grey base as well.
White base in Miami. Dark base in NY.
I'd be interested in seeing a day glow orange base coat or even a lime green/yellow base with this just free hand splashed over .
Black n dark Grey! Then color shift over whole car!
White, Grey and black on some of these wild colors would be wicked. Maybe later this year :)
The white barely shifts at all lol.. It's just some gey sherbet looking crap. The black actually allows the proper color shifts that the product was meant to do.. People are so silly and dumb these days and love to lie to themselves 😂
The difference is staggering. I know it's probably a painstaking process but I wish every video did this. It's awesome seeing the comparison of the two. I tend to always love the subtlety of the white base more
I agree every test car should be half back half white
Yes i really like seeing the difference, doesn’t even have to be black and white, I’d kill to see some of the blues they’ve done over a grey base
I want to see more of these half and half comparisons
100% agree!!!
I don't think that the real issue with such a suggestion isn't how much trouble it is, it's the fact that those are volunteered vehicles and one of the perks of volunteering a vehicle is that they get to ride that paint job around on their car for awhile, not so sure that anyone wants to ride around all half and half so the true issue becomes the waste of someone having to peel that half and half right back off the car....
I love the white side outcome! Very different then the normal dark color shifts. Im a big fan of coral so that one is aweaome to me!
i am OBSESSED with those deep burgundy colors on the black base side! But man, the soft creamsicle color is stunning. Both are incredible, fantastic work, and thanks so much for doing this fun little experiment!
this result is wild. I like both, metallic pastel kind of a sunset vibe, and the black that turns to bright copper is fire.
I like the idea of this project you guys did. I know how much of a pain it is laying down a nice, clean base of white. But what I'd LOVE to see is these pearls being put down over a base coat that matches the primary colors of the hypershift pearl you use. So with the ZRG, it's designed to shift from red to green. So if you did something similar to the BMW here, but used a similar green and red from the end product (on the black side), I think you would have some crazy results. Like you'd have more vibrant reds and maybe a muddled green for the red side, and vise versa for the green side. I'd be really interested in seeing how these hypershifts work with matching base colors.
Agreed completely
This is how it should be done from now on, at least with these tests/weird color combos. Because even with colors that you sell as a kit, I’m sure there’s a few colors that made people wonder how it would look on a different color base coat. Some colors just look like they’d look good on both a white and black, and others just make us more curious.
Also, I think it gives those who haven’t tried your products, a slightly better understanding as to why certain bases are used.
that white side is absolute killer.. wow, one of the best colors I've seen you guys do.
I genuinely prefer the white side. It's a much milder shift, but such an interesting colour palette, with all the pastelyness and hints of gold.
Yeah, the white is really nice. It makes me think of Orange Creamcicles lol
It has zero shift
Bro, this car is fk-ugly.. I appreciate the time and imagination that they put into all of their work, but you can even tell when he was signing off on the video he wasn't happy with it.
Bro, it looks like a salmon. The Whiteside looks like a salmon color 😅
It was obviously made to be over the black, but although the white took out 90% of the hyper-shift, it did create an interesting color. I'm not sure if that was an interference pearl or non, but would be interesting experiment base for different types of pearls in the future (even though it isn't practical), different pearl types over each still is educational and beneficial for your viewers to either confirm or dispel whether what they are thinking in their head is or is not a good idea for something they may be considering.
I believe this is a non interference. Color powders are non interference, and the white powders are interference. That could just be my assumption though and not an actual rule of thumb.
👍👍
Agreed 👍
@@Genesis385 I think you're actually backwards on that... white powders aren't interference and the others are.
Whenever Gabe looks uneasy I know it’s going to be a good episode. 😂 Keep up the good work guys. 👍🏻
That looks fire on both sides, amazing. I love seeing all the different colors you guys create. Watching the whole process and the end result is fascinating and I very much enjoy the content. Thank you guys for sharing so many examples of your passion with us.🙏🧡
Both halves are wild in their own right. I dig them both.
Would be cool to choose a viewer/ subscriber who would get to pick the base and pearl! Or fly a subscriber out and let them pick and paint, to show just how user-friendly the DYC stuff is!!
Or choose a subscriber who can win the car lol 😁🤣🤣😎
Or choose a subscriber and have their car done by the guys!
Honestly the white side looks promising! White in particular makes it look a bit milky and maybe pinkish so not my cup of tea, but now you guys have unlocked a craving NEED for me to see this ZRG wild hypershift over Polaris Yellow base 🤩🤩🤩
That would be dope and it might actually work
On the one hand, I LOVE the rainbowy, intense effects on the black. On the other, the nearly luminescent glow off the white is just delightful. Gives me a very DayGlo 80s vibe? It looks like it’s radioactive (in a good way).
Next time you do a color split, what if you did white stripes and the rest of the car black? Or get really crazy and do some weird color combo where one person paints the base of the car and then masks it for the stripes so that whoever picks the stripe color has no idea what they’re getting into. Gabe picking the base and you picking the stripes without consulting each other… and then trying to find any colorshift that could bring them together…
I dunno, you guys are the ones who have to live with these colors. 😂 But I know I would love that, and I see so many upvoted comments suggesting more mystery stuff and chaos.
I like all of your videos, but these running videos are why I first fell in love with your channel, awesome!
Couldnt have guessed that this is just one kind of top coat for the whole top surface.
Both sides are eye catchers.
Hope to see more projects like these in future.
For some reason the white side is pulling my attention more. I think the black side is awesome as hell if you want the crazy shifting but the white side turned into something a little unique. It reminds me of the soft peachy sunset colors. Love your videos Peace and love to you and your family 💜💙💜💙
I'm loving the dark base side. The colours are so vibrant, and I really like how they shift, it's mesmerizing.
That is by far the most beautiful creation you have ever turned out that I viewed on any of your videos!
As is! That is just drop dead gorgeous his and hers split down the middle just the way you have done it!
5 out of 5 on both sides! That is a freaking incredible pigment! I absolutely love it on both sides!
That is so incredibly different! I like the dark better, but I want to see this over a Gunmetal base.
50 shades of grey!
Honestly probably the coolest demonstration of how Important the black base is to a white base. Honestly, absolutely amazing!! Maybe try doing this with some the other wilder hypershifts with a white base instead. I mean, total game changer for sure!!
thank you for spending your time/energy/sanity showing off this crazy paint job- you're really doing it for those of us here just for the colors. all i can think of is the white side looks sunburnt- which is honestly pretty neat- like it's almost glowing.
The black side made the hyper shift colors stand out better.
The white side didn't make all the hyper shift colors come out but I definitely liked how it turned out.
I would say I like the white side better honestly because it made it different and like it made the orange look.
Yeah. But you're spending a lot of money on hypershift just to make a solid orange...it's a waste of money and material
I like the idea of two base colors on one body, I would love to see this again but scaled down on speed shapes. I like how different the color is on the lighter base it really gives the end user some creative freedom
They’ve don’t this several times
WOW!!! What a contrast. Love it on both colours, but on the white it resembles a shifting mix of sunset colours. The flesh of an apricot but shiny. LOVE IT! 💖
Honestly I would rock it just like it is. All color shifting pearls should be done like this. It's such a great contrast, it doesn't even look like the same pearl was sprayed over the entire car. Mind officially blown 🤯
I actually really think that this car looks really good with both the colors. I think the black would look good on its own, along with the white, but with it being half and half like that, it's just gorgeous. Now, what I think would look awesome, would be a white and black checkerboard pattern, and then putting that orange paint on top. Anyways, love the car!
That would be tedious to create I think.
@@bonespiel no doubt it would be a nightmare to prep but the result would be epic!
I like them both for different reasons. The black brings mood stones to mind. The white is a pretty colour with a firey flair. I'm willing to bet it would be the best of both over grey
Definitely crazy ! Big ups DYC 👍🏻
WHITE SIDE IS AMAZING ..THE WHOLE THING REMINDS ME OF TWO FACE FROM BATMAN😂😂 SOOO COOOL
I like both sides but I am in love with the wihte side it looks so peachy well done boys this is amazing keep it going and may you all have an amazing blessed and happy new year lots of love all the way from Cape Town South Africa
P. S. : I would love to have this peachy color on my car
more videos like this, please. i will take it as is, the car. Now you see exactly how it works, the differned color paints on different basis.
You guys should keep doing it, genius advertizing for your product.
This is actually really interesting. The black base has that metallic sparkle most love and looks awesome. But, the white base gives this really cool orange Creamsicle appearance thats just stunning. Both are beautiful for different reasons but the white base makes it really intriguing. ❤
Wow, you guys rock!
The contrast was night and day (pun intended)!
Honestly, though it's a lot of work, I would encourage you to do this again, but only when warranted.
Fascinating and surprising results.
Would be interested to see how that colour works on a mid grey base; the affect on white is quite disappointing.
Hahahaha That's the first thing I thought❕
Over a silver base.
Exactly, over nardo grey.
To make it easier for you and to please us as viewers, couldn't you, in addition to spraying the car, also spray it over 3 Speed Shapes with the base colors black, gray and white? Then we can really see the difference!
On the white it looks amazing like an orange creamsicle! The black was just ok.
Wow! What a difference. I didn't expect such a dramatic color contrast. Cool experiment and well worth it.
I like this should keep doing it. As many wanted a grey base too, maybe add a large grey racing stripe in the middle so everyone gets to see what is would be like if they decide to go for it. A great way to show case your products to reach as many customer possible in one take.
I’ve often thought that a hypershift over a base fade in the style of Gene Winfield would be very cool. This video cements that feeling. It would be a lot of work but the end result would be stunning.
Both look freaking incredible. But I must say the lighter side constantly looks like a white car reflecting a beautiful sunset. Looks sick!
the white side looks like it could camouflage with a real beach sunset.. amazing
I like both I guess it just depends on your mood. But I love this video just because it is what I have been asking for. I appreciate that you actually take the time to read the comments and use some of the requests to make content.
This reminds me of the colour changing hotwheels that you used to get. Crazy colour changes and it’s amazing to see such differing results from the same hypershift
That white side really looks sooo good. Looks like a flamingo pink with like a sunset orange, yellow Pearl very nice and unique
I was one of those asking yall to do this, thank you so much!
Definitely unexpected results. Loved the black base. The hypershift colors were fantastic! The white base rated at a 2.5. It was really bland when compared to the black. I really enjoyed when you used samples of base coat and let use vote on which one we wanted to see on the whole car. As usual a very fun video. You guys never fail to entertain me.😊
The white side is pretty, but the black side is absolutely stunning! The black base brings out the pearlescent and holographic properties of the color so much better than the white base. Great painting fellas!!😁👍
Thank you for doing this!
I want to comment on this setup, which I believe is pretty important to your future business, not just the actual color. I feel this was needed to be done on ALL your colors. Look at the vast differences with the same paint on different backgrounds. When you are browsing your website it can be hard to tell what you are going to get based on the tiny little plastic car shell. You think you are getting one thing but then someone posts a picture of their car they dipped and its an entirely differently color than the little plastic car. Also What if you only showed off the darker color, which is your default and I prefer it but this amazing peach pearl color coming off the white side would have never been seen. Just look at the comments below. I know I was looking at some of your darker blues and some people dipped their white cars with it and got some nice ice blue shifts that I never would have thought about but really liked. You could also look at utilizing AI. Start feeding it your videos and paint codes and then start playing with the combinations. It will give you free outputs without having to waste a ton of prototype paint and of course ALL that labor. Find what you are looking for then start mixing and spraying. Save you some cash too.
Honestly I LOVE how Florida Sunrise the white base feels. It's like the sunrises I used to wake up to see out at Jupiter. One of the very few reasons I miss living in Florida.
They are both so different, I like the darker one it seems to shift more color than the white. What a project!! Thanks for doing that crazy paint job for us.
both sides are amazing. love the oil slick look and love the corally white side look
Imagine this involved in a high speed police chase, the first officer giving a description of the vehicle, along with the dispatch repeat. Great video per usual boys!!!!
Thank you for this! It's a good comparison
The pigment over the black base was incredible, I can see why you were raving about it. Not sure the test over white was worth the effort, but some folks have suggested striping the car instead of splitting it down the middle. Thanks for doing the experiment (I suspect you knew how this one was going to work out, but you went ahead and did it anyway for us viewers). 5/5 over black, 3/5 over white, 10/5 for the video!
this was nice of you guys to show us what a bright and dark side does with this. as much as the white don't show all the crazy shifts, i'm not hating the results. so nice job fellas, i'm sure that is a real head turner for sure
Actually love the way it looks over the white base. I know more people like how it looks over the dark base (probably because it's intended to be used over darker bases) but I can't help but feel like the white base gives it a really unique look. Would love to see a similar thing done with a purple/blue hypershift because I think it could be interesting.
I kinda like both of them, they both have a uniqueness to them
I'm loving this shift over the white base. That's a rolling sunset!
The white side is so much better than expected and is so nice!!
I love these so much 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
The way the green/ gold comes through only the black base is cool but man the white base having the orange dream-sickle vibe is sweet
First of all, the contrast is F*in bananas...but they are both beautiful and dope af in their own very unique ways. I'd rock either one of those combos 💯
Wow. Amazing work.
The dark side is stunning!! Fantastic!!
Wow!!! Luv them both
The difference is crazy, the white base looks like a peach colour with faded sections, while the black base looks almost metallic camouflage. Crazy that it's the same paint.
Wow!!!! That’s wild!! I love both sides!
WOW. Such a difference. But I think both have their place. On the right car, I can see both looking awesome.
If I had to choose, black base just has the advantage. Thanks guys for your time and dedication. A pleasure to watch every Saturday morning.
Omg love it over the white so unique looking!!!
seems like it would be a brilliant idea to do all of them like this; solves a lot of questions and lets people make more informed decisions buying the products to get the look they want
Well mate, that's a show car!!! Sunshine, man! I love it!!! ❤️ so freaking different! I love it!
Greetings from France 🇫🇷,wish u all a great new year. All the best for u guys
Finally! Thanks for the dual base!
Great video doing the split. The black definitely shows the hypershift and it shows better.
THEY BOTH LOOK AWESOME
Wow, that pearl over black is amazing. The pearl is completely lost over the white!!
It's amazing how different they are. I love them both, but would probably choose the white base. It has a softer feel and I love how it has subtle color changes.
They both look great. Very different I like them both very much!
I'd like to see half and half comparisons like this more often! Something I think about when watching your videos is I wonder how the color would look on the opposite base color.
I love the white. Looks clean and smooth..
That looks amazing. I like both sides.
I never comment, but as difficult as it was for you guys to pull off. I am SUPER glad I got to see the same color on two bases. I would never have guessed it but I love that over the white. Its a whole different color and I LOVE it!
That was amazing. They're so different. Please do more with multi-basecoats.
"the idea is CRAZY.... but we're gonna do it." You guys represent America SO well. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for doing the 2 tone base, that's why you guys are the best! Personally still like the more vivid dark side better BUTthe white side more pastel colors make you look twice to make sure what you thought you saw. Cool effect for those who prefer the more subtle color shifts.
Im in love with the white base!!!
I loved seeing that split and the white side actually looked beautiful
I love it over the white base! ❤
As much as i love the white base, a lot of the shift was taken away, the black side had a huge colour variance in comparison to the white. Its obvious this powder was meant to go with a dark base. Well done guys x
🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳 finally i can see that THANK YOU
ok so this is definitely thought for dark base but dude...that clear side is dope!!!
On the dark-based, it drop so cool , specially on stocky slammed e46 but still,.i love lights colours
Cooooool. I think the white as like centered racing stripes of some kind with this would look badass.
What a complete contrast! The black plays with your eyes the most so I like it.🆒😎👍!
