    Also drive a scat pack widebody in Miami. It is THE car you want to turn heads and gap rental lambos driven by Soundcloud rappers.

    These cars are incredible. Back in the day I drove 442's and still have several. As fast as they are they can't hold a candle to a Scat Pack. 442's are collectables now and no one uses them as dailies or runs regular gas. Not a problem with a Scat Pack.

    Born in 74, I missed out on the muscle car era. I was arpund for it, but by the time I got my license it was Honda Accords.
    I just ordered a black 2023 Scat Pack Manual a few weeks ago. Not missing out again.

    Very well shot review, I enjoyed it. I have the '19 in Octane Red and daily drive it. After 19 months of ownership, I still love every minute behind the wheel. I've never had a single problem with the car. I run a dedicated set of powder-coated alloy rims with winter tires and I have no problems on icy or snow covered roads. The gas mileage is good considering what this car is. Btw, those "air grabber" inlet tubes are capped on the inside, as in not connected, from the factory. In the video, you can actually see the cap at the back end of the tube. I installed a Hellcat lower airbox and the inlet duct so now mine is connected and working. Doesn't make any real difference power-wise but I like knowing it's there anyway. I also installed a set of inlet screens because they keep out big insects, plastic bags, and believe it or not... nesting birds. Whether you choose the 8-speed automatic or the 6-speed manual, this car is amazing. People says it's heavy, but it's also a lot bigger inside the cabin and the trunk and that's something that I like about it.

    • @joeyl1939
      @joeyl1939 Před 3 lety

      Quick question about your wide body scat pack how is the gas mileage driving in normal mode and driving at normal speeds do you get good gas mileage with that and do you have to use premium or could you use mid grade

    • @bill392
      @bill392 Před 3 lety +2

      @@joeyl1939 Driving in Auto w/Eco mode around the city usually under 80km/h (50mph), I'm averaging 13.9 litres/100km (17 miles/gallon). While the 5.7L and 3.6L are allowed to use 87 Octane, the Scat Pack 6.4L is not so you have to use 91 or higher, 0 to 15% Ethanol is allowed. The mileage is better on the highway, typically 12L/100km (20mpg). I have never been able to achieve the maximum 24mpg value quoted in the specs but the stated "combined" value is 18mpg and I'm almost getting that.

      These tires provide same overall circumference so the speedometer accuracy is good. The slightly narrower face is better for snow/slush but are not so narrow as to make the car look weird. People in general assume that they are the factory wheels. As the owner, you will notice that they appear to not stick out quite as far but it's not bad. Another benefit of the narrower tire is that it is less like to send slush and dirt flying up onto the side of the car, so less scratches.

    I own a Demon and a '16 Scat Pack manual. Don't really drive either much, I'm in a work truck all week but every once in a while I think of selling my Rat, I call the Scat the Rat. Lol. I just take it for a spin, get on it and shift, then it removes any thought of selling it. I once thought of trading it in on a manual Hellcat but just can't part with it, it's too much fun. Maybe when the Demon's paid of I'll get the Hellcat. Anyway nice to see your video on the manual Scat. Good job.

      There was a test done on another channel that showed the shaker was more susceptible to higher engine and intake temps. This is because the whole hood is sealed off to only allow air through the shaker intake. It leaves little options for engine heat to dissipate other then the radiator cooling the coolant, or the little amount that escapes through the wheel wells. Also, when the run was over the regular scat cooled down much quicker than the shaker. Definitely looks better, but preforms worse😮‍💨

    I bought my first brand new car because of your video. Custom Ordered: 2022 F8 Green Widebody, 392, 6 speed T/A with leather and sunroof. Ive never seen another TA widebody manual. Your absolutely right, it feels like a brand new restomodded 1970s car. Definitely the last of their kind, and I will never sell mine.

      @@tinozbrowzz5130 Thanks I appreciate it. I love green cars. Have 1300 miles on it now and about to change the oil and put it away for the winter. It’s everything I thought it would be. It’s heavy and is definitely not a sports car, but it just commands respect wherever it goes. Just feels so sure footed and strong. Definitely not for everyone.
      What’s funny is I was talking to the salesman about how fun the 6 speed is, and how these cars are the last of their kind. The dealership now has a green and a maroon 6 speed 5.7L sitting on their lot. Thought that was a smart move. I ordered my dream car, but those RTs are a bargain.

    @mikereeves282 Před 3 lety +6

    I bought this exact car (2019) in pitch black as well. Widebody is a great look and I got a ton of compliments. #1 question, however, was "Is that a Hellcat?" About 3 months ago, I got a opportunity presented to me to get a 2017 Challenger Hellcat (Octane Red, non-widebody, 13K miles) in mint condition for $50K even. Not a Widebody, but I couldn't be happier. completely different car than the Scatpack. There are used Hellcats out there, but not easy to find low-mileage ones in mint condition.
    That being said, regardless of trim, the Pitch-black Widebody Challenger is one of the greatest looking cars ever made IMO.......nice ride, enjoy it.

      true but most have probably had the snot run out of them. A good friend of mine owns the local Dodge dealer near me and told me Hellcats have so much power it is really a waste to spend the money because you can't use it driving on the street so the Scat Pak was a far better dollar value than a Hellcat for street driving.

    Owners report avg. 0-60 around 5.5 sec. The car sounds fantastic it has tons of power and torque but 5.5 + sec (automatic is somewhat faster) is pitiful compared to electric AWD super cars achieving low 2's. In fact even a V-6 AWD Challenger can often beat it due to lack of traction on rough roads. Still if you are lucky to find one it may hold value?

  • @SUZUKIMIKE105
    @SUZUKIMIKE105 Před rokem

    Also another thing to note: when you put the car into sport/track mode, it raises the hydraulic pressure in the clutch making it a shorter push/smaller release. I've 1000% (yes 1,000) noticed how spongey the clutch is in street mode. It's almost like it wants you to slip the clutch for a smoother take-off. But as we all know, that's how you burn out a clutch. Every time I hop in my chally it goes right into track mode for the higher performance clutch setup.
