It's like he's going through an existential crisis and this interview is slowly adding new pieces to the puzzle haha
+Jason Gordon It's almost like watching a therapy session. It's pretty fascinating, actually.
Love the breathy pauses, haha. Great interview, great actor.
I'd like to see Shannon, Walken and Tom Hardy in a conversation. It'd be about 2 hours worth of thoughtful pauses.
"The process of acting is an appreciation of life. It heightens your awareness and attention... It's saying I'm going to pay so much attention to this because it's that special, people are that special, stories are that special." Love this. Beautiful explanation.
Dude dresses like a boss.
acting is an appreciation of life! what a great sentiment. loved this interview.
He floored me in 99 homes, can't believe I just saw it right now. He should have gotten more recognition for this performance, yo.
My favorite actor these days. Steals the show every time.
Such a hard exterior for such an honest guy. Great Actor.
The True humble Giant
very interesting man
He always does such a great interview, you can really see him thinking through an answer.
Awesome actor, and an intensely interesting individual.
wow you are dropping nothing but fire the past few days!! Thank you for all you do!!
Interesting. From the Take Shelter interview he seemed like an insanely funny person with perfect deadpan delivery. What we know about these people is fairly limited but I always appreciate that you're sticking with the longer format. Cheers! :)
Michael Shannon's silent blank stare is my spirit animal.
Love this interview. I think it's sad that we live in a world, where actors (or any famous people, actually) can't go out and live regular lives, because there's people that don't respect the space of the famous person they see and famous people have to worry about crazy people doing something to them and/or their families. All famous people are human, just like the fans and I'm a Michael Shannon fan, myself, I've always thought that he's gorgeous and such a good actor, but I wouldn't disrespect his space or anything like that. If anything I would be wayyy too scared to walk up to him, just to say hi, especially after watching this interview. I would be too scared of alarming him, making him feel unsafe, making him feel anxious, etc. even though I'm just 5' 3 1/4", only 115 pounds, and wouldn't hurt my enemies, if I was paid to (I know he doesn't know that) just saying. I can't stand the thoughts of making somebody feel that way or to feel like I've bothered somebody, because it eats me alive. I wish there was a small town for all famous people (and ONLY famous people) to go, like a safe haven type of thing, where they could walk down town in peace if they wanted to and not have to worry about their space being violated, being grabbed, having a ton of fans recognizing who they are and running after them, etc. Just a small town that they can enjoy, where they can go to the grocery store if they wanted to, go to the mall, go to a barber shop, and do whatever they wanted without the hassel of being followed, approached, etc. Just feel like a normal person. I think that would be a morale booster for them and it would take a load off of them, mentally and emotionally.
Take shelter really is quite amazing in many aspects, chiefs among them are the screenplay and direction by Nichols and an absolute tour de force by Michael. An Oscar snub I lament to this day.
99 Homes is a great movie. Best of 2014 perhaps. After Gone Girl.
Great interview as always. Thanks so much for your continued work
This is probably his twelfth interview since morning.. He enjoys talking "extemporaneously" (his word) but this is a same question/same response/rinse, lather and repeat media junket - and a contractual obligation .
Look at the state of him.....these reporters might as well be waterboarding the man.
Humble people have trouble whoring .
Michael is insanely talented and a real person....We need him
In some ways the worst thing that can happen to a REAL actor is to become famous. The observer becomes the observed.
Great interview!
he's a boss
Thank you Based David Poland
He will find him.
@DP/30 does a brilliant Job conducting interviews and asking the right questions but I really wish they could improve their sound equipment. The flaw is prominent through each video I've watched through.
I having money troubles I feel bad for you son, I got 99 problems but your home ain't one.
his voice make me sleepy

Seems like a difficult person to interview or was it just too early in the morning for him :)
+Imran Nazir To me, it feels as though he's ACTUALLY thinking about what he's saying. Nothing seemed canned like most press junket interviews. I loved the thought he put into his answers. Very reflective thinker.
+SquareOne4242 Yes true, but as far as other interviews on this channel go, his style is unique.
He just confirmed he will be Doomsday.
I would love to take mushrooms with him
okay but same
This was kind of a painful interview to watch....
No comment, because in fact he is so far removed from the interview so I don't mean to offend, politically upset, use irrelevant meaning, bring up humanitarian concepts, leave out the animal rescue causes, come across racist, involve my religion, make the actors rethink their words, leave out important people, use racist slang, politically side with anyone, or forbid I talk about the hypocrisy of hollywod... so yeah no comment...lmao
