  • Michael Shannon is a true one-of-a-kind. He gives performances of shocking range and delicacy that draw viewers to him. He chats with David Poland about his work, particularly in this year's new thriller, Nocturnal Animals.
    Shot in Los Angeles, November 2016

    This dude is raw, just pure genuine and grounded.

    I think Michael Shannon is very down to earth and he a very good actor, extremely underrated. And I agree with what he said about fame/Hollywood lifestyle. You meet it half way and it is a choice. He is where I want to be in my career, steadily working but still able to take the subway.
    Thank you for the upload.

      I'm not sure if he's still underrated. It seems to me the right people are paying attention to his talent. Look who he's working with. It's the top of the crop. Good for him! He ain't no raccoon.

    • @Luvie1980

      DrKimble1 Raccoon? WTF?

    • @DrKimble1
      @DrKimble1 Před 7 lety +8

      lol! The interviewer says last year's Oscar winner in a supporting role was engaging to which Shannon answers 'but so is a raccoon'. Therefore he must think being engaging on screen isn't good enough. Personally, I think Michael Shannon's performances go well beyond 'engaging' which brings me to the conclusion (extending and using Shannon's comparison) that he ain't no raccoon. He's better than that ... like a honey badger or a platypus.

    Nocturnal Animals - one of the most powerful and horrifyingly beautiful movies of this year. Aaron Taylor Johnson was extraordinary! Shannon is all-powerful even in a so-called supporting role. Much love!
    Many thanks to you Dave, God bless

    hes completely right about De Niro. Dude worked as a steel worker for a few weeks in prep for deer hunter and did the same for taxi driver and probably a lot of his other roles that i cant remember. I think i read he even got real tattoos for cape fear they just used a kind of ink that faded after a while
