The first film i ever saw of Ramin bahrani was At any price and it blew me off. You will find always a very singular impeccable conscience working in all of his films. When a filmmaker makes you think and speculate about the characters in his films and the consequences the actions leads to, he has done his job. Bahrani makes it all the more personal because i acknowledge and recognize the characters and what they are really going through. He makes them come alive and the world and somehow their limitations becomes our exploration to identify ourselves in a contemplative manner.
you home represents your dreams...your daily work...your savings...your sacrifices. ..your family. most buyers they just sign hundreds of papers without reading or understanding the terms. im a Realtor and i see this every day. buyer overpaying for properties even more than in 2007. the question now is. ....why are they giving us this movie now? from 100 only 1 will survive and 99 will go down......are we paying attention?......its in plain English
AMIR AMIR I never understood such an attachment to homes. One line I did take from Carver’s character is that emotion and real estate are a bad mix. A home is a box. Big ones, small ones - they shelter your family but they are NOT family. One with a roof will do as well as another.
We are heading for another crash due to corrupted and incompetent systems we still have. I guess we have never gotten out of this as long as we have the same system and people (like mind) in place. Your home is not yours but a bank/creditor (liability actually) until you pay it off.
