- While going through some of my old videos I found this one. It was way down the list of my videos. I was going to delete it, but after watching it again I thought a little revamp and save was a good idea. The color combinations are great. I used Prismacolor and there are names and numbers posted for the pencils. Enjoy!

No because I've spent so much time buying my pencils, color arranging my pencils, putting them in all of their cases with labels so I know who they are. Not to mention this paper, that paper, and some more paper, sketch pads in various colors. Ran out of storage so moved my kitchen gadgets to the garage so I could make room for all my coloring books(56 and cou nting) which I never color in so I don't ruin them. I make copies of the pages I will (eventually) color which requires more storage along with the books that contain my finished pages and on and on and on. 🤣I'm sure I'm not alone. Love THE PROCRASTINATION QUEEN!
You are far from alone. I have done the same. My new art studio tour is coming very soon.
This sounds sooooo familiar!!! LOL🤣🤣
You sound like me! I love buying pencils and swatching them and buying books. I really haven’t colored all that much. Procrastination is my middle name! 😂
Wow.
Music is appreciated for this video. My wallet hasn't improved over the last five years. But I enjoy the therapy that I get from art.

I have definitely improved. I think I improve with each coloring. I like to look at old colorings. Shows you how far you've come.
I haven’t gotten any notifications from your channel for such a long time, but have checked back occasionally. I am happy to see you here. You’ve been in my thoughts regularly. 💝 🙏
Lori, 😃I just received my set of Star Joy Gold colored pencils! Can't wait to create some art!
I am more or less just starting out. I was in a rehab 3 yrs ago and dabbed there in painting a wee bit. I realised there is a whole magical world out there and have so many things and ideas that I would like to try.
Its strange because I cant get over an invisable shield that wont let me get past that and actually begin. I have brought all sorts of acrylic, pencils, everything possible all that one may need - I have a huge amount of so many things I wish to try.
It is like a tree, with many branches, getting more and more ideas of what I would like to do, only......I cant start! So I started on colouring books! I never thought to colour properly with shadows, layers etc, making everything come so alive. I love the type of colouring book you use, its so me. I am starting with that, so yes, I have definatly improved. This being all because of you and your beautiful teaching/ skills. I have only just found you and know you are the prayed for help I asked for. My Godsend!
I admire and appreciate you so much. Just in this small amount of time, I have learned so much from you. I am starting small, with relaxing music and trying not to be scared of making mistakes, and enjoy doing it!
I feel silly writing here, being such a noob, where everyone is so advanced, proper artists etc - but we all started out somewhere I guess, so here I am - and so happy to be here.
Thank you so much Lori for your strength and beautiful charachter which shines through all you do. 💕
That smokey eye was a surprise and totally awesome! Thanks for the trip down video lane.
I started just before you in January 2016. I've improved, but I'll never be as good as you!
My sixth “anniversary” was about two weeks or so ago. I started coloring the last week of October 2016. Just don’t remember the exact day I did so. The changes for me is like day and night. Almost like two different people….and I am still learning. Still having ah-ha moments. Which is interesting because those ah-ha moments usually end up happening when I end up “in the zone” and my brain is doing the coloring for me. If you understand what I am trying to say.
Doing a very happy dance because just in this last week I suddenly came to a realization about something with our computer. It has a built in program that I have been using for probably close to three years, where if I want to do a grayscale image, I can take a photo and turn it into one and make the grayscale as light as I want. I don’t have a clue why it took me so long to realize that if it can do that, then it could take any image I want to do and lighten the lines, but it did. I came to that realization this past week and started playing around with it. It is going to be a HUGE game changer for making my images look even more realistic!!! It isn’t going to help of course with any of my current WIP’s, but going forward with any new image I start, you better believe me I am lightening those lines!!! (Unless of course the image is in a book!)
My hubby and I decided to buy an art course from The Great Courses and the instructor said that we need a 9x12 and a 18x24 sketch pad. Hubby insisted that we go with a high quality one. So, we are going to use the Strathmore tan toned ones. Already have the 9x12, waiting on the 18x24. So, can’t wait to try the 9x12 for coloring on…and it looks like IF I get good enough, maybe doing my own images, isn’t going to be as far off in the future as I may have thought.
I started coloring again and art in general in feb this yr I think I can see improvement just cant wait to see where I am in 5 yrs
I see the biggest improvement in how smooth I can get skin now. If I were to do this over it would be much better
Your color combination has always been great! And yes, you have!
Welcome back! 🥰
So happy seeing you drawing!! Inspired to reset focus.
I am back to coloring everyday. It truly is therapy for me.
You are amazing! Love watching you make the picture come alive!
I remember I always said I wanted to color like you. I've followed you all these years and enjoyed it all.
So, have I improved in 5 years? Only you would know.
You are AMAZING!!!!
Who did the music? I really loved some of the songs!!! ❤
I have a subscription so I usually don't look. It's been a while since I used it and apparently they got all this new music to choose from.
@@ColorMyWorld Okay…Thank You! I hope you have a Blessed Day! 😃
I think that it has. When I first started coloring I definitely had the right colored pencils - a set of 48 Prismacolor pencils that I had gotten years previously at a very low price (around $10 as I recall.) So I had that, but I knew nothing about light layers, blending, shading, using grey pencils, using products like Gamsol, tortillions, erasers, white pencils, certain hints, tips, and techniques, and more.
So everything that I know and have learned has come from CZcams professionals like you who so generously give your time and expertise; however, I think that you top the list! I want to thank you and the many others for that!
I just started coloring in the summer of 2020. So hopefully will keep getting better! My first ever adult coloring was in a Hanna Karlzon book so I've been coloring the same one on my coloring anniversary the last 2 years to see how I'm doing. 🤗
I love this video. I sure am glad you saved it.
I think I have improved, how much would have to be decided by someone else. I do know your videos have really helped me a lot. I can sometimes hear a little voice telling me not to scribble. Thank you for all you do for all of us
@Joann Garber
Actually, if you have saved all your images you have done, all you have to is go back and look at the images from when you started to now and you will be able to see the improvements for yourself. That’s what I encourage everyone to do, at least a couple times a year. It isn’t until you see the improvements for yourself, that you can feel the impact. Seeing those improvements for yourself is a motivator to keep improving. Just my two cents worth. Happy coloring!
Thanks for sharing! 💚
I started colouring a tad over three years ago when my mom was hospitalized. Have I improved? Yes! Mostly thanks to you and your lessons. Thank you Lori 😊
I started 4 years ago with mainly Prismas and Johanna Basford's Secret Garden. A few disasters in there, but also some work I consider effective even now. I had a lot to learn about mixing media, but nothing gained without experimentation!
I started with the same book! I got such nostalgia when I read your comment.
@@Mrs.LadeyBug 😁💕
I only started in June 2022 but I can even tell I have improved and I am an old dog at 51 learning a new trick😂
It's been great though and I have tried watercolor, colored pencils, soft pastels, oil pastels and some ink......ink has been the hardest for me and watercolor the easiest but everyone is different. I just bought my first himi gouache do wish me luck.....I am going to need it ha ha.
I'm 57 and I have MS, started coloring about 5 years, you're never too old to learn anything. Just wait and in time you'll see your improvement, get 2 copies of a picture and color one and put it away for a month, after the month without looking at your first one, color the second one and after you finish the second one, get the first one out and compare. I learned that here
You are brave to use ink first. It took a long time for me to get comfortable with it because it's so unforgiving. I used to do Inktober but skipped it this year.
Hi have you seen Sarah Renae Clark’s newest video?! She featured your colored pencils and was really impressed with them!❤❤ they truly are amazing pencils!❤
People have been telling me this but I haven't seen it yet. I'll watch it later tonight. My Thanksgiving visitors just left.
