- I Organized And Stored 10,411 Pens, Pencils And Markers. It took me 6 full days to do it, but now that it's done I am so inspired. I will show you how I did it and what I used.

What a therapeutic thing for you to do. I’ve watched many of your coloring tutorials and prayed for you through your heartbreak. Just starting this one….. I hate that people criticize others. Who cares how many pencils someone else has. You bring joy to many with yours ….. so here goes!!!!!!!

But I checked in and saw you were being supported in many ways by those you’ve so wonderfully supported in the past. As I said, my prayers were with you ….. it hit very close to home as mine was in a coma for 3 months with 5 major diagnoses and he somehow survived….not the same but here…
So after the grief I wish you days of peace and joy. They will come…

Love the way you sorted your pencils by color. I agree with your thoughts concerning pencils being stored in a way that makes them easily accessible increases the likelihood that they will be used. The video caused me to reevaluate how I store my colored pencils. Enjoyed the video.😊
Congratulations! That was quite an accomplishment. It's so pretty to see them displayed that way. I'm tempted to do the same but I haven't reached that point in my life yet lol! I'm almost afraid to see exactly how much I've purchased in the last 3 years! Loved the video!
I cringe, sorry.....i should be used to this. Sarah Renae Clark also has her thousands of pencils organized by color, too. I just cant, IMO, the best ones cant be mixed with the budgets, nope....lol
I took the really budget pencils out. Very low pigment pencils went into the children containers and they are being donated. Now I really only have good and really good.
@@ColorMyWorld I did the same when I moved last month. I saw zero point in keeping things like Crayola so I just donated them. Now I have nothing but artist grade and 5 sets of very good hobby grade.
I am OCD and can’t mix brands. Kudos to you though - great job!
@@loriberry1896 I have OCD too and I am the same way! Things have to be a certain way because if not, it will drive me crazy to the point that I would be up all night and not be able to sleep until I got up and fixed it!
I feel the same, the only way mine are stored together is in a pencil case and there all budgets are stored together and all others by themselves. I cannot afford to buy small cases for every set. For instance I have a Derwent case and all and everything Derwent goes there……now I have lightfast, Pastel and inktense, I’ll start a new case for them.
I love colored pencils so watching them be organized and at the end seeing beautiful rainbow of pencils. Loved how neat & organized they all looked and the great idea to put them into clear bins even the markers.
I just want to tell you I LOVE THE GOLD STAR JOY PENCILS so much I bought 4 cases of them 2 I gave as gifts in which they love them and 2 for me❤ you did an awesome job with the colors and the quality of pencils are great ❤😊
That is a LOT of pencils. I thought I had a lot, with 3 sets (2 x 72s and 1 x 24s). Wow. And what a task, sorting them all! The result is so pretty, it's a work of art in itself. My art stuff hasn't yet migrated to the bedroom but I have a cabinet on the landing with all my 12 x 12 papers in it. At the moment my studio is a total tip because I'm doing drawing downstairs and when I'm not using it, it turns into a dumping ground. A week long project awaits me - to have a blitz in there so I can actually get in the room lol!!
You wouldn't believe what is going on with the pencils now. I haven't seen them in over 6 months. I am working on the video explaining. Look at the community tab on my account for a slight hint what has been going on.
Quite a accomplishment 👏 👌 great job that will help you be able to find the perfect colors you need. That's great you are donating to kids who can get lots of use of them.2 of my granddaughters followed their Mom's footsteps and are assistant teachers for disabled children. From kindergarten to high school one works at a elementary school and one works at a high school. They both have been there several years and love it they both worked with their mom all through high school did it as one of their classes. So did one of my grandson's. They also watch some of the kids when school was out they still do it whenever they can. So bless you for donating instead of just giving them away to anyone else ♥

As a disabled adult myself, I can honestly say without a doubt that they would be just about the most appreciative people in the world if you did that! We're often forced to subside on next to nothing, so donations are always welcomed by most people!
Dear God woman! This is like a doomsday prepper video except with art supplies! 🤣😂 If I was a prepper you you better believe art supplies would be included! Way to go! That's how I store my pencils too by color not brand. ❤
Wow!…I just moved and gave many of my pencils away and I still a bunch. When you said the container were getting heavy.. my mover couldn’t believe how heavy my yarn was. It’s because I layered my pencil tins in my yarn so they wouldn’t get broke. The only thing that broke was their backs 😎

@@ColorMyWorld oh good Lori unfortunately I haven't been on my phone much I'm about ready for my 3td operation on my left wrist next week my bones keep breaking where the plates are causing my hand to swell really huge this last surgery they put a huge one up the back side of my arm about 2 inches from my elbow and another one on the front of my hand it's not as long it's broken this time on the back of my hand then my right hand I have nerve damage on the back of my hand from a previous surgery and in December I started going numb in my fingers and now my palm and fingers are both numb the EMG showed multiple nerves that are damaged from my neck to my elbow to my wrist but nothing can be done until I get my left hand healed. Plus I broke a bone in my right knee they didn't need to do surgery just couldn't walk on it for 6 weeks then wore a brace I got cellulitis and they wrapped my legs the fluid went into my upper leg and I think the bone broke again this week can barely hobble around I go Tuesday for a xray. Anyway just haven't felt good have home health in the home 4 days a week. But I think of you often just know you are always in my thoughts and prayers 🙏❤ eventually I will catch up and watch all your videos on top of all that in February I was diagnosed with macular degeneration and cataracts and a wrinkle in both eyes and a possible stroke in my left eye so I'm seeing multiple doctors will need surgery for the cataracts and the wrinkle just happened all at once came in from driving saw spots in my eyes it continued getting worse like it's foggy all the time hard to make out letters so hopefully this is spelled correctly. HAHAHA. Judy I have always said I had too many pencils. I couldn't even believe how bad it was until I counted them. I actually guessed around 5000. I wasn't expecting over 10 K.

I just plowed through all my gel pens, and gave about 700 of them to my son's girlfriend, I just don't use them anymore. Your pencil organization was just whoa!! Excellent video. ❤

Im doing the samething! I thought i posted this comment in your fb group, but i didnt press the post button 🤦♀️ i have so many pencils that for one color im using a schmedium size flowerpot!! Im so glad you're posting this video. A lot of people do not like this way of organizing their pencils, but i like to use all my pencils together. If i leave them in a case, i wont use them that often. And i like to see all my art supplies. I often leave them out so i can look at them, so you can imagine the mess this creates lol. But having my pencils grouped together like this, i get to see and use them and they're organized 😉 Thank you for this video!!!!

My bed is right next to it so I wake up to it each day.
I put all mine in bags but I separated them from colors in their own bags I love my castle art pencils and Crayola pencils too I love castle art gel pens too

YES! My stuff was all over the place. I plan on downsizing in the next few years. I just don't need a 4000 ft house anymore. This setup will make it easier for me to downsize them again. I may keep 100 of each color and put them into those smaller containers. My dream is a tiny home. 700sq ft would be perfect for me.
I don’t have anywhere near this amount of pencils but I decided to organise according to colour. Honestly, it’s the best thing I’ve ever done. I know which pencils are which and just blend until I get the effect I want. I also know which ones work best as base layers and which work better for final layers.

This was fun to watch!! I would have loved to see you show us how to determine the undertones of the pencils. Idk about anyone else, but it would be so helpful for those who aren’t very good at color theory.

Why are you getting Holbien? They are very expensive and while I used to think they were the end all die all pencil, I have since changed my mind. They are too similar to polychromos. If you have your heart set on it then go for it. They are still good pencils. Luminance are my favorite high end pencil.

WOW OMG, another great video. like you say i cant bear the thought of mixing up all my sets. i like them in their own cases, it satisfies the OCD. Plus i can see if i have this or that set so no duplicates. Also i just don't have the space for a nice big art studio. Gorgeous pooch though. there are so many nice art supplies you have
. i know a lot of you tubers across the pond like the star joys, unavailable over here. although you have an amazing amount i know there are a couple of pencil sets you don't have.
They are the decotime triangular set and my first brand i have a soft spot for still 40 years later - wh smiths. if you are interested i may be able to send you them as happy mail?????

I thought I had a lot of pencils, but my 4 binders don’t come close to your collection! This was still helpful since I need to organize all my stuff!
I've done this with some of my most used skintone pencils. I put the skintone section of the SJ Golds, the new Nyoni skintones and the H&B skintones sets together. 🙂

I’m only allowing myself to have one set of each type of pencil. I started with brutfuner. Then bought Polychromos to have a firmer set. Now I’ve purchased prismacolor to replace the brutfuner as my softer set. The brutfuner now go to my 4 year old and her monte marte set go to grandmas. She did have steadler norris but those went in the bin. No one deserves that kind of torture. Especially children 🤣 she’s been enjoying my alcohol markers lately and is about to inherit those when I upgrade. She definitely appreciates good coloring supplies and from the moment she tried alcohol markers, refuses to use water based. I can’t say I blame her to be honest 😂
I have a special someone who is going to get to use my good art supplies but you are 100% right about young art does not deserve garbage supplies.

i enjoyed watching this video. i also really enjoyed watching your vintage pencil videos ... very interesting history of prismacolors. thank you! ... i have some vintage eagle turquoise and eagle prismacolors and quite a few berols. you are so knowledgeable about prismacolors that i wanted to ask you a question : i would like to buy a 150 set of prismacolors. is there a difference in quality between the box with the white flowers and the box with the butterfly? i don't know which 150 set to purchase and from who because there is such a wide price range and because of the concerns i have heard about quality differences. sorry this is so long. i will appreciate very much any thoughts and advice you might have for me ... thank you SO much!

Amazing job! I love the look of this but I don't think I would find it useful for me. The thought of having to go through multiple of those bins to choose a few colours for a page I'm working on would just freak me out I think.. even though I usually use more than one brand on a page.
I don't think this setup is for everyone. If I only had a few sets it would be better to keep the sets together, but since my collection was so big this was the best way I could use everything I have. Even with it like this, I'll go through the bins again and weed them out. I may pull out my prismas as they are the pencils I use the most. Star joy is already in sets.
I guess I must have 'stunted pencil growth!' I have to keep my Prismas, Polys, and Star Joys in their separate zippered cases.
I totally get that. I kept my zippered cases in case I want to go back, but I doubt I will. It's just my backup plan.t

I used to swatch everything and still do with markers. Pencils are just too easy for me to recognize.

After doing art for 30 years, picking pencil color is very natural. When I look at colors I can deconstruct them down to the primary colors in my head.

Tky for your sharing of learning to not buying so much stuffs for my coloring or artworks! Indeed, we are having the tendency of using always our favorite mediums! After all, you won’t use all you colored pencils that you’re having now in your life time, isn’t it? 😊

How satisfying is that! And pretty to look at too. Awesome job! I've kind of lost my colouring mojo lately, I've found Another Hobby. I bought a set of pencils recently and , gasp, was just not feeling them. So I colour catalogued them and passed them straight to my daughter-in-law for her young family. I'm finding colour cataloguing much more satisfying than colouring atm...go figure....
I took a long break from drawing and coloring after my Husband died. When I was ready, I came back.

I got it at Walmart. I don't see anything like it on Amazon. They only have smaller ones. It's heavy duty and really good quality, but a bit pricey.

May I ask where you got the caddy you housed your prisma markers in? My prisma markers are in a container at the moment and it makes it hard to find a color when I need one
I got them on closeout at Hobby Lobby. They sell similar versions on Amazon but I believe they are smaller. You may try Hobby Lobby again or maybe Michaels.

Thank you. She isn't a people dog, but she is very attached to the hip to me. She used to be my Daughter's dog, but she never warmed up to my Son-in-law. She wasn't overly attached to my Daughter either and they tried their best. She just attached herself to me and wanted nobody else. When my Husband died 9 months ago, she sensed something was wrong and when they went to take her home, she dug her paws into the ground and refused to leave. She even went so far as to break out of her harness. We just all agreed her place was with me and she has lived here ever since. She is never more than a few feet away from me.
One of our Italian Greyhounds did this after my father went into long term care. He decided my mother needed him more than we did.
@@ColorMyWorld Aww, that is so sweet. Animals are so sensitive and aware of how we are feeling. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. We have 2 kitties, one is mine and the other is my hubby's. She hardly gives me the time of day apart from using me as a warming platform, but she's all over my hubby demanding cuddles. Mine is more independent and my hubby says "one stroke and she's anybody's" but she is definitely bonded to me! The two of them sleep together all cuddled up, often with their arms around each other. So sweet.
I been watching your channel for a while and I wanted to say, as a New Yorker (Upstate, but I still got some of the accent), I know what you mean about the word, "ochre" and how it does not work well with a New York accent. Every time I gotta say that word, I cringe because it makes me feel like I'm going to gag.
Also, I just did the same thing with my color pencils as you've done. And now that I finished, I came on here and tripped over this video that I never noticed until now. Really wish I could have been around when you were doing all that work. I would have loved to help out and do some of that work and being allowed to scribble with all them dozens of different brands of pencils would have been plenty of payment.
Ok I’m so intrigued…I keep coming back to this video….it all fascinates me. And I love your voice/accent!!!! The organization is great. I’m still pretty new at this so I watch a LOT of color along videos…. They always have you get specific colors from specific sets. (There is absolutely No criticism here I just want to learn cuz I might be new but I have quite a few pencils myself. Lolololol ! ). So they say Arteza ______ or Prismacolor Non Photo Blue or some such….. you now have a container with approximately 400 pencils of that shade…… could you please tell me what you do? I really want to know cuz I really am going to plan an organization of my room…. OK. Can’t wait. You have a plan for everything can’t wait !!!!
You have Berols? I have a few and yes I consider them precious!
All the cases on the bottom of the long table are filled with Berols, Eagles and Sanfords. I am a huge collector of vintage pencils and I have a lot of really rare Prismacolor colors that are no longer produced

I had all my sets in cases but I mixed them all together by colors in plastic containers now I can see all my colors because I have to work in a small space and no where to lay out several cases at a time
I can't leave my pencils open. Because right now we have Moth issues. And I found moth nests on my pencils. So I store mine in Mesh storage bags. But these are good ideas ty. Wow, that's a lot of sorting colors. I think I'd be in pencil and marker heaven. Wow. I Love some of the boxes the pencils come in. I don't throw them away.
OMG I have never heard of that. I used to get moths in bird seed when I bought it in bulk. I know exactly what that stringy mess is like that they leave behind.
@@ColorMyWorld we used to have 2 parrots and encountered the moths from the bird seed. Then someone told me to freeze the bags before opening them. The freezing kills the moths, larvae and eggs. Never had a problem after that.
We will always give house room to our adored fur babies but never give house room to the dreaded moths lol! I've never heard of them eating pencils before... One of our kitties loves pens, pencils and paintbrushes, and will pat them onto the floor to play with them and chase them under the furniture. I am always very careful not to leave my coloured pencils vulnerable to her or they would fall on the floor and the leads would break inside them! She also likes to chew them and quite a few of my hubby's pencils and paintbrushes and ink pens (he does pen and watercolour wash) have her tooth marks on them!

Don’t you have short pencils? It looks like you have only new pencils. Do you store the stubbies in the bins? Wouldn’t they get lost in there?
OMG I forgot to show the nibbie bin! I didn't count them. I keep them large glass jars. I also give them away when they get about 3/4 down the pencil. I like to hold pencils in the back so longer pencils are more comfortable for me.
@@ColorMyWorld I knew there was a good reason! I must have two dozen pencil extenders lying around as I don’t like nibbles either… but I have no one to pass them to so I use them until I can’t sharpen them anymore.
Surely you must realize you will never use even a small fraction of your collection of colored pencils. What will happen to the others? Sooner or later they will all be given away. Hopefully they will not simply be tossed out. For myself I lately have been giving away anything I don't need or use. Sometimes I bring them to an official organization, other times I make a small package and put it where someone will just discover it. It brings me alot of pleasure doing this, plus I feel lighter in a way that is hard to describe. . There are so many who don't have enough, or aren't even exposed to it. I see you have started donating your own pencils to children and that is an excellent idea. Keep doing that, you will never regret it.

Actually, seeing that huge collection that no one could ever use in a lifetime. I know many other channels use those pencils in giveaways, and some use them for colorists who just can't afford a decent set of pencils. I don't know.....some food for thought. Y'all have a blessed day

Not everything needs to be given away on CZcams.
Part of her job is reviewing pencils, plus she states in the video that she's giving some away. Lori does a lot of charity stuff.
I get what you are saying but it is not her responsibility to give away stuff to people online because they cannot afford certain color pencils or because she has so many. That is like asking people who collect cars to give them away since they have so many. Kind of tacky. It comes off rude implying that she should give away her personal belongings that she uses her money to buy. There are also many channels who never give stuff away either. To each their own!
Before I even started I pulled out sets that I already gave away. Every friend with children and every neighbor has pencils from me. I also set aside over 1000 pencils seen in the video for the disabled children where my Daughter works. I do send out pencils to my subscribers too. When the star joy pencils were developed I sent out 20 sets to people who couldn't afford them. Some of the people who received them are commenting here now.

I wish. Maybe it would stay this way. Most likely the pencils will end up in the working draws until I can't close them and then put back into the bins.
