This Coloring Book Needs Fixing

- The new Perfect Puppies hard cover coloring book has come out and I really hope the company that handles the book fixes it. I am willing to rereview it after it is fixed.

I think the captions and labels are meant to be a description of what is on the front in case you want to take the picture out of the book. That way the correct description is with the right dog. I think it's also why the captions change directions. They are always at the bottom of the back of the photo based on whether they are portrait or landscape. Just my guess.
Why would someone buy a hard cover book to rip the pictures out? They do sell a soft cover for around 10 dollars.
@Color My World I agree. But I think some might think they are good enough to frame or offer to others? Trust me, I've learned there are plenty of people not nearly as practical as we seem to be lol. 😉
@@ColorMyWorld I'm with you. Because of the way the text changes directions and someone said they printed the names and/or information on the back of the page in case people want to remove the page from the book so the info for that particular dog would be with that page, but it's not always on the back of the page, therefore, it doesn't really make sense and makes it look like they didn't even try.
Like you, I wouldn't want to remove pages from a hardcover book, so it would make more sense to have the facts about the dog on the opposite page and going in the same direction so that you can look at/ work on the picture and refer to the info without having to turn the book or in some cases, even turn the page. There doesn't seem to be any consistency in the way the text is arranged. Well, there flat out isn't, as you clearly demonstrated while flipping through the pages. It just doesn't make sense to switch the text arrangement back and forth like that.
I didn't get the hardcover so I didn't have that problem. It doesn't bother me about the information . I don't want to color in mine because it is beautiful. Me as a beginner the paper would have bothered me, me now, I know how to deal with it, thanks to you 😊
I loved watching this review! The illustrations are really beautiful. But my favourite part is every time you said dawg, I just couldn't get enough of it. I'm a kiwi so you can just imagine what it's like when I talk. Not cool like this !
btw, I'll be watching for word of a reprint on this, or better print, because I would definitely buy just to enjoy the art as is.

Thanks for the review. It made me think about a book I am curranty coloring in. World Within worlds by Kerby Rosanes. In the back all the answers section, the descriptions for the pictures are incorrect. The correct descriptions are on the next picture not on the one you are looking at. This book was gift from my sister. I put up with it. Even though it envoys me. Just wondering if anyone else had this problem. Lori thanks again for the review. love the puppies. Take care.
Thank you I agree on what u said I just checked the price on Amazon Australia and the hard cover is $148.00 and soft cover is $52.80. Just so expensive

Thanks for the Honest review. I cringe whenever I hear a coloring book review that says it's on Amazon paper, or certain coloring books that are well liked for the illustrations but , they use thin paper. There are just so many illustrators who make sure that their books are made with good to excellent paper. And they cost $15.00 to $20.00 U.S dollars. Many are hard cover too.

I think the bigger issue here is they've used AI art and haven't disclosed it anywhere. This seems like a big issue with colouring books right now and it's incredibly annoying to have to look through several pages of every book to figure out if they're AI generated or not. Really disgusting to call them "illustrations" when they've just input a text prompt and had these images spit out for them. I'm not interested in supporting what are effectively not actual artists. I want to support people who put real work into their books.
I like AI coloring pages when the person who makes them changes them up. These happen to have not been changed in anyway. I make all my inspiration photos in AI. It's hard to find books not created in AI these days. Some of our old time colorist do it, but not much on Amazon.
I thought the price was strange when I took a look at them on Amazon and saw what paper they were using. I thought was a mistake 😮
If I had that book, I'd cut out all the pages, scan them onto my computer and re-print them on proper hot-press paper. The pictures are lovely but the binding and print quality looks awful.
The soft cover is 10 dollars and it's identical to this. I would take that apart. Good idea.
Wow! How long ago did you get the book!? If you did a review of my book! And it came in looking like that!! I'd have you a book, overnighted already!! Especially!! If you are paying that much for my coloring book! YES! It's a beautiful book! But you know as well as I do!! What time and effort you would be taken sending out a coloring book at that cost! This is a book I would expect to find in a bargain bin or a dollar store. Too bad because the images absolutely melt my heart. For me those bizarre x-ray/negative looking images on the black pages would flat out creep me out!! I see all kinds of things in stuff like that or patterns on flooring that do not stir up positive energy. Nopie!! Thank you for the heads up!
Some of them are funny and look like demon dogs. Next to the adorable puppies it's just so wrong.

The images are beautiful. Because of the Amazon paper, weird printing and shadows of the previous page's image, I’d be willing to pay no more than $10 for such a book. Actually would pay more for access to PDF’s than the paper copy of the book as it is now.

It's not horrible for light greyscale coloring, but anything more than that it loses tooth. They have a soft cover book that can be torn apart and you can print on your own paper. That's the only way I would do it, but I gave the soft cover away. Honestly they should just put it on Etsy with a PDF file and make it easy. The pictures are nice.

Whomever designed this book needs to get a new printer/publisher cause they messed big time!
I helped a friend publish a book so I know a bit about how it works. It's going to cost a bit of money to change it, but this really should have been done before the book was put out. They cheaped out buying a copy before hand. Had they just invested a bit of money into that first copy then this never would have happened. Another theory is they know and don't think we would care.
