Chris was one of the judges in a Guitar Center drum off when I was maybe 63 yrs old so needless to say I was the oldest contestant . Still I made it past a few rounds but finally when I got eliminated he came up to me and raved about my press roll, on a d on. . It IS pretty good but he made a much bigger thing about it than I feel it really is. I felt he was being sincere but also went out of his way to show great compassion to me . He’s a real stand up dude , that guy. Believe it .

i want to see this legend on drumio play to some dream theater, animals as leaders, tesseract or some kind of prog/djent or something this guy is a grove monster and i think his groove and creativity can add alot to the metal community. maybe polyphia can have him as a guest musician. im going to check if he has and zildjian live or drumio videos now.

To my comment: I could have never appreciated the quality of this video and Chris’ playing without your supercharged analysis. You analyze fellow greats with the same passion as you drum! There is no better analysis than one that comes from another professional at the same (or higher) level of skill. To me, this would have been a rather controlled performance compared to what you do, Estepario. But, you pointed out those details that we would have missed because we don’t know what to look for. You made this so enjoyable, and your respect for the great Chris Coleman is commendable. To be your favorite drummer is quite the compliment.
(Note: take good care of that finger. This is the critical time if you want the best possible chance at a 100% recovery. Let it fully recover! Your ability to control your playing at supersonic speeds depends on this single digit. Having pain when you are rolling and crashing will effect your playing.)
