  • Prayer to the saints is a pagan practice that was Christianized by the Roman Catholic Church and followed by the heretical Orthodox Churches. Its a practice commonly seen in the pagan religions of the world. Pagans believe that their dead ancestors and intervene in the physical and spiritual realms to help those who seek after them.

In terms of the establishment of a new covenant with God, yes. Only Jesus did that. But there's more to the idea of mediation.
We know that we are called to share in the priesthood of all believers (cf. 1 Peter 2:5-9), and a priest, by definition, is called to be a mediator between God and men. Each of us is called to this role and to be a mediator or mediatrix for others before God. Therefore, if we are all called to this role of mediator and intercessor for one another, how much more can this be said of Mary who said, “Yes” to God and brought Christ into the world?

@@jeazurlantes it's ok to pray for the living people but not asking the saints to pray for us or Mary to pray for us. i haven't seen this in the Bible.
The Bible nowhere mentions anyone asking someone in heaven to pray for him or her. The Bible nowhere describes anyone in heaven praying for anyone on earth.
The Bible gives absolutely no indication that Mary or the saints can hear our prayers. Mary and the saints are not omniscient. Even glorified in heaven, they are still finite beings with limitations. How could they possibly hear the prayers of millions of people?
Praying to Mary or the saints is completely different from asking a friend here on earth to pray for us. Asking people on earth to pray for us has a strong biblical basis; asking the heavenly saints or Mary to pray has no biblical basis whatsoever.

The dead in Christ are not dead in the spirit, only in the body. The ancient church all believed that. It is bodily that we shall all be risen.
When we sin, we must confess both to God and man (whom we have sinned against) and when confessing to God there is always sacrifice present. In the old Testament it was at the temple with an animal, in the New it’s the acknowledgement of Jesus at the cross making payment for our sin. When confessing to a priest before mass, you have the real sacrificial presence in the broken body of Our Lord.
Whenever that is not available, we confess to God with the same humility as if that Presence were with us as it is through The Holy Spirit.
Don’t take your confession nor your Lord lightly. Fall on your knees, and make it right both before and after you have made it right with man.
The idea of the saint or the priest is in the place of not being able or relevant to confess to the person we’ve sinned against-which is the other part of our confession.

This is reason why the Gospel is called The message of Good News, because Jesus's death on the Cross now allows us direct access to God's very presence!
'Quoted from "Lion of Judah" Post:
The Day the Veil was Torn
This simple fact is often overlooked in the story of the death & resurrection of Jesus-the moment the veil was torn. Not only was it torn, but it was torn from the top to the bottom the moment Jesus died. Which is significant.
      A seemly simple
but profound event because The Veil was 6-8 inches Thick.
      and yet, it was Torn
No man could possibly have torn that veil-especially from 'top to bottom'
      GOD tore the veil!
      What was behind
      the veil?
The ark of the covenant. The ark was where God met man. And not just any man could go behind the veil--only the high priest. He had to make sure his sins were confessed or he would die behind that veil in God's holy presence. There were bells on the bottom of his robe so the other priests would know he was still alive. If the bells stopped ringing, they would pull the priest out with the rope tied around his ankle--because they couldn't go behind the veil.
Ripping the veil at the moment Jesus died was so significant. God was declaring that Jesus' death made a way for EVERY man (and woman) to come into the presence of God! It's His invitation to enter in. As man confesses his trespasses, he's been invited into a personal, intimate relationship with our holy God. We no longer need a priest to confess our sins or intercede on our behalf. In fact, at the point of salvation, we each become a priest, able to talk and listen to God ourselves-intimately.
What a holy moment for us...that moment when the veil was torn!
      Hebrews 4:14-16
[14]Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.
[15]For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.
[16]Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
      Hebrews 7:23-27
[23]Also there were many priests, because they were prevented by death from continuing.
[24]But He, because He continues forever, has an unchangeable priesthood.
[25]Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make Intercession for them.
      [26]For such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens;
[27]who does not need daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the people’s, for this He did once for all when He offered up Himself.
      1 John 2:1

You are deluding yourself. The veil being torn has nothing to do with how we pray to God. "We are no longer separated from God" Yes we get separated from God WHEN WE SIN. There is no human being without sin. "If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us." (1 John 1:8).
"Because of the sacrifice of Christ, we are clothed in His righteousness and now obtain the ability to go to God directly" This would be valid only when you walk on the right path and don't sin at all. But that would only be possible for a period of time not indefinitely. You only take from the Scripture things that fit your wrong belief. But ABSOLUTELY IGNORING the Epistles of THE APOSTLES in the Scripture who taught us to pray for one another. You think you are above the Apostles and know better?!? James 5:16 "... PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER..."At least four times Saint Paul asked his brothers in faith to pray for him. Couldn't he ask Jesus directly? Why do you think people are praying for one another, eh?

    • @Chartail1
      @Chartail1 Před měsícem +12

@@criss6945we can pray for one another, but when we pray for one another we are praying to Jesus DIRECTLY. Theres a difference with praying TO and praying FOR. If you pray FOR someone you are to pray TO Jesus for that person. But in regards to communicating with someone who is dead, you are praying TO that person person FOR someone else. Its unbiblical.
Not to mention scripture makes it clear that we are all saints, saints is the title for those who follow Christ.
So once again, when I pray FOR my brother, I am praying directly TO my ONLY mediator who is Christ.
The curtain was actually in regards to our mediator and soeaking directly to our mediator who is God.
Only the High Priest could go behind the curtain before the very presence of God for offerings for sin. But the whole point is ONLY a High Priest in the temple could do this. Jesus is our High Priest and because God tore the curtain He was showing that no more do we need just a human to go before God with our sin offerings, but now we can go "Boldly before the Throneroom" to the God and no longer does the Spirit dwell behind that curtain but dwells in the hearts of those born again, for those born again Christ lives in our hearts and is our High Priest and is the Spritual curtain between us and the Father where now we don't need to go through another to speak to God but can go directly as saints which is what we are. We are no dead to sin and made ALIVE in Christ and we are nowhere to dark for Christ to not hear us. There is not one scripture where a prophet, apostle, discple or Jesus Himself saying that we are to pray to those who are dead in flesh but alive in spirit. Not one verse says we are to pray TO them, pray FOR those on earth by praying TO Christ, yes, but not praying TO the dead of earth FOR others.
If scripture says Jesus id our only mediator, then who am I to say He isn't and that I must go through a human who is NOT omnipresent.

Spiritualism is communicating with demonic spirits. Protestants misinterpreted those texts about witchcraft and took it out of context by putting an equal sign between consulting spirits in Old Testament with asking holy saints who live in Christ to help them. Saints who are in the Kingdom of God are more alive than we are. If God didn't want us to pray to His saints, he wouldn't have given them the power to heal and to great miracles to help people in need (before and after they moved to heaven).
Saying that those saved by Christ are dead denies that Jesus' sacrifice ended the death curse we inherited as descendants of Adam.
It also denies the word of Scripture "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that WHOEVER BELIEVES in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16). It also denies Jesus' words that those who believe in Him won't taste death but moved to everlasting life. (John 6:47, John 5:24, John 8:51)." It's a blasphemy.

Praying to Mary & the Saints is unbiblical
Jesus is both Mediator, Intercessor & Advocate. If Jesus is sufficient for all those roles then why do we need to pray to Mary or one of the saints, who by the way, are departed?
Yes, they are alive in heaven, however, there is no scriptural basis for praying to them, rather the opposite is true!
If this was such an important and essential dogma, then why didn't Jesus explicitly tell us? Why didn't the Apostles write anything like that down? Why didn't the earliest known Christian writings outside of the scriptures called the Apostolic Fathers, which were written between 90AD - 150AD, shortly after the writing of the New Testament, not mention or even allude to the idea???
By praying To them, we are taking the attributes of God and placing them on mere humans! Only God is Omnipresent(everywhere at once), Omniscient(knowing everything at all times), Omnipotent(all powerful) & Omnibenevolent(supremely Holy & Good).
Take a look at the following scriptural references:
      Look at what John says:
      1 John 5:13-14
[13]I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
[14]This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
      Romans 8:26-27
      [26]In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself INTERCEDES for us with groanings too deep for words;
[27]and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He INTERCEDES for the saints according to the will of God.
      Romans 8:34
[34]Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes INTERCESSION for us.
      [26]For such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens;
[27]who does not need daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the people’s, for this HE did ONCE for all when He offered up Himself.
      1 John 2:1
      [1]My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an ADVOCATE with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous;
      Hebrews 10:19-22
[19]Therefore, brethren, since we have CONFIDENCE to enter the HOLY PLACE by the BLOOD of Jesus,
[20]by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the VEIL, that is, His FLESH,
[21]and since we have a great priest over the house of God,
[22]LET US DRAW NEAR with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

Don't put your faith in men. Still loving them is very important but still secondary to love for God. It may seem paradoxical and probably is, it's just a way to understand the hierarchy for me.
Intercession may be of help, I'm not sure you need to ask for a specific one tho. I think sometimes we do feel too guilty, too filthy to show our faces to Jesus, openly. In thoses cases, help from a saint or an angel can help. I don't see it as a tip though, it is just something that happens if you can't do / are not willing enough to do otherwise. Just pay attention it is still God you're still trying to revere. Don't worship anyone besides God / Christ or it will turn out to be a demon, but if you are purely sincere it should be fine. It is harder than it sounds but we all fail sometimes too.
In conclusion, spiritually I think I lean closer to Mar Mari than this man, but in the end, there is no perfect church now, the Church is Jesus and we all must make Temples out of our hearts.

Martin Luther who brought reforms in the church was actually a heretic and modern Protestantism has many wrong teachings.
Mar Mari should've made a mention that is more difficult to reach God when you lost the spiritual connection with Him through the Holy Spirit due to personal sins, but not impossible. He tho is right that the prayers of the saints are more powerful and can help in this kind of situation. So long as we are alive in the flesh, we will sin. He is saying that saints pray for us in heaven so that our prayers may be heard. Because they are without flesh (sin) in heaven. @@giannihatzianmevris1861 James 5:16 says to PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER, and that the prayer of a RIGHTEOUS PERSON HAS GREAT POWER and IT'S WORKING". Who is more righteous of us if not saints who are Kingdom of Heaven with God? More than that, they're holy. So their prayer is powerful and is working. We ask others to pray for us but not the holy ones, who's prayers are truly powerful, to pray for us? That doesn't make sense. Saints who departed are STILL part of the Church. There's two branches of the Church, one on Earth and one in Heaven. Those in the Kingdom of God are much more alive then we are! If anything we are the dead ones, not them who are with God!!!
Those who say that the saints in the Kingdom of God are dead, are denying that Christ' sacrifice destroyed the Adam death curse for those who follow Him, the very purpose for why Jesus came on earth. They also deny Jesus' words that those who believe in Him won't taste death but moved to everlasting life. (John 6:47, John 5:24, John 8:51)."
Protestants misinterpret the Old Testament text about forbidding inquiring/consulting the dead and took it out of context as it was in reference to witchcraft: "There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or his daughter as an offering, anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or a charmer or a medium or a necromancer or one who inquires of the dead, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord." (Deuteronomy 18) Mediums or sorceress say they talk to the dead but it's a lie, as the dead are busy being tortured in Hell. The spirits they consult with aren't human departed spirits but demonic spirits.
Putting an equal sign between holy saints in Christ and the dead/spirits in the Old Testament is a blasphemy.

I mean, even if you're not sinning willfully, how many times do we slip up in a day? And then we now have to pray to a Saint to give us brownie points with Jesus? You would be only praying to saints then....and that's exactly what the devil wants. Never praying to Jesus, Who is the only one who can help you, and always praying to a "saint," who can never help you. Demonic doctrine!!

The "Saints" he is talking about are canonized by mere mortals on precepts of rules written by man. Vatileaks was an eye opener in regard to seeing just how corrupt this is. I realize Bishop Mar Mari is Orthodox, but they adhere to much of the same canonical laws. My parents were Catholic, I'm a non-denominational Christian who has a relationship with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, seeking daily growth through prayer, reading and application of Biblical teachings and repentance. Yes Orthodox also have a relationship with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, but they're also in communion with the actual body of Christ and the actual church established by the apostles. The same apostles that didnt write down every single thing they ever said, the same apostles that gave much more wisdom through word of mouth.
Nobody is denying that were made righteous through Christ alone, why are you adding that as if mar mar was objecting to this. I hope this isnt some ploy.
Watch Godlogic and sam shamoun, they would be able to educate you on why praying to saints is nothing wrong.
" mere mortals " who are children of God, who have devoted their entire lives to serving God unlike you and me who live in the secular satanic world, and who are so beloved by God that they are even able to perform miracles. Mere mortals who pray without ceasing and take the hardships upon themselves so that other members in the body of Christ can have lighter burdens. Yes corruption. Saul was talking to a witch! Witches, mediums and spiritualists lie that they talk to dead people. They talk with demonic spirits. To put an equal sign between "dead spirits" (actually demonic spirits) and holy saints in Christ is a blasphemy. To believe that those saved by Christ are dead, is to deny the Scripture "...that WHOEVER BELIEVES in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16) and Jesus' words that those who believe in Him won't taste death but moved to everlasting life. Saints operates in the Holy Spirit. When bible was written, very few saints departed, that's why u don't find this in the Bible. But Paul said to pray for one another and asked others to pray for him. Also, if God didn't want us to pray to His saints, he wouldn't have given them the power to heal and to do great miracles to help people in need (before and after they moved to heaven). Basically, it's God who revealed that saints can help people, by gave the saints the power to do miracles. As people who were anywhere close to the place where their bodies were buried were healed from any disease they were suffering. Others escaped from great danger just by mentioning their names. There's thousands and thousands of testimonies. It only shows how precious for God are the saints who suffered martyrdom for Christ or abandoning themselves for Him, living a life of prayers away from the world. They're the most precious ones for Christ and you call them "dead"! You deny Jesus' words that those who believe in Him won't taste death but moved to everlasting life.

Thank you for providing these supporting verses. When we examine them, we can gain insight into the biblical teachings on prayer and intercession. They are all excellent examples of praying for each other to God the Father, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.
James 5:16 says, "Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working." This verse emphasizes the importance of believers praying for one another and seeking healing through prayer. It encourages mutual support and intercession among believers, but it does not indicate that we should pray to anyone other than God.
Romans 15:30 states, "I appeal to you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in your prayers to God on my behalf." Here, the apostle Paul asks fellow believers to pray for him. The focus is on praying to God on Paul's behalf, not praying to Paul or any other individual. This verse emphasizes the unity of believers and the power of collective prayer.
Ephesians 6:19 says, "And also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel." Similar to Romans 15:30, this verse highlights Paul's request for prayer, specifically that he may boldly proclaim the gospel. Again, the emphasis is on believers praying to God for Paul's ministry, not on praying to Paul himself or any other saints.
1 Thessalonians 5:25 states, "Brothers, pray for us." Here, Paul simply asks for the prayers of the Thessalonian believers. This verse emphasizes the mutual support and care within the body of Christ, where believers are encouraged to pray for one another.
2 Thessalonians 3:1 says, "Finally, brothers, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may speed ahead and be honored, as happened among you." Once again, we see Paul's request for prayer, this time for the advancement and impact of the Word of God. The focus remains on praying to God for His purposes to be fulfilled.
Hebrews 13:18 states, "Pray for us, for we are sure that we have a clear conscience, desiring to act honorably in all things." This verse, similar to the others, demonstrates Paul's request for prayer from fellow believers. Again, the emphasis is on praying to God on behalf of the apostles and not on praying to them or any other saints.
From these passages, we know that the biblical instruction is to pray to God in the name of Jesus. While we are encouraged to pray for one another and seek the prayers of fellow believers, the focus remains on directing our prayers to God alone, not saints, or Mary or idols, GOD ALONE. There is no biblical support for praying to saints or other believers as intermediaries. Our prayers are always to be directed to God through Jesus Christ, who is our mediator and advocate before the Father.

But when he said that we can't go to God directly in that state, he actually meant that IT'S DIFFICULT (to rebuild connection with God in prayer). U can pray directly to God, ofc, but u need to repent and cry for your sins. I understood what he meant cause I personally experienced that state many times that I wanted to pray but my prayers fell flat, just simple words and not coming from the heart. I wanted to cry but I couldn't, I felt spiritually dead. IMO, Mar Mari just wanted to emphasize the usefulness of Saints' help in that kind of situation.

Praying to dead saints is bordering on Spiritualism, which is strictly forbidden in the Bible!

this clip is out of context he is sying you can talk and get saved by going directly to Jesus but you need to go to a saint if you dont know how to ask or that stuff

Mediums say they talk with the dead but it's not dead humans.

@irenecolman-xb6ko Mic drop! Praying to departed saints will most likely have people contacting demons

@@johngraves9237 No. God doesn't allow demons to intervene when we pray to holy saints who are in Heaven. The person who says it's Spiritualism makes a big confusion. When you pray, you address to a specific person, sometimes not even mentioning with loud voice the name, but just a prayer from he heart without words.

@@criss6945 When you pray to the saints in heaven you give access to the realm of DEMONS because praying to the saints is FORBIDDEN by the Lord, that is a pagan practice. You are only allowed to pray to GOD. So if you want to serve satans kingdom then that is what you are going to get, I have known Jesus since 1989 and I have NEVER thought about praying to the saints in heaven, that is simply disgusting!!
