What can I say about the Royal Marines that I haven't said previously?!? We all know they're brilliant!! Some would even say Spiffing!!!
These were the marches & Drum Solos played,
1) 0:04-McAlpine (Drum Solo)
2) 1:24-Eagle Squadron
3) 7:09-Illawalla (Drum Solo)
4) 8:06-Action Front! (Klar Zum Gefecht)
5) 11:36-Cosgrove's (Drum Solo)
6) 13:59-A Life on the Ocean Wave

Excellent sound as usual from a Marine band but why is it that I find the Drum solos so utterly boring - I must be the only person that does so and it would be nice to see a marine band without hearing Life on the Ocean Wave - sacrilege I know - I think I prefer The Guards ,Cavalry and Rifles
@@clivehughes2179The Royal Marines always know how to put on a show! Well, I can't agree with Sir on the Drum Solos, but of course I respect Sirs opinion. As a Drummer I think the Drum Solos are phenomenal!!! And an integral part of the overall sound of the Royal Marines Band Service. I Personally think that if there's no Buglers leading with their Drum Solos, the Band shouldn't even go on Parade! But, to each their own! Take Care Clive! Best wishes to you and yours!
@@delvinrodriguez3341 I didn't mean to offend you and anyone else about drum solos - of course I know how skilful they are performed by highly talented drummers and they do look good - I feel much the same about the sound of bagpipes -not my favourite but as you say each to their own - my best wishes to you as well

@@clivehughes2179 Expecting The Bands of The Royal Marines NOT to Play "A Life on the Ocean Waves" Would be like Expecting The Grenadier Guards NOT to Play "The British Grenadiers" Or The Royal Navy Not to Play "Heart of Oak" or The Royal Air Force NOT to Play "The RAF March Past". Then after a Year You'd be Tired of hearing " The Bravest of the Brave" "Milanollo" & "Old Salamanca".
Just a thought... You do know this is a Video, Right? It Comes Complete with a Mute Button & A Fast Forward Option, All The Wonders of Modern Technology! If it Causes you so Much Aggravation, you Also have the Option of Not Watching It!
Interesting fact, at 3:44 you can see the drum major signaling to the band to play quieter because of a service taking place in the Guards' Chappel. You can also see him signaling to play normally at 6:04.

Well done spotting it! Last year they played through and played over the Band of the Coldstream Guards who were just finishing up their own Remembrance Sunday Parade. So that was a nice touch by the DM!
I'm not the Least Surprised you Stayed in London to See this Parade, Mr B, I know The Bands of The Royal Marines are your Favourites. Just to Prove that I've been Paying Attention, The First March they Play "Eagle Squadron," is the Same First March, the Band I think would Give The Royal Marines Bands a Run for their Money for their Title of Premier Band of the British Armed Forces, The Band of the Household Cavalry, Played as First March in Their Cavalry Sunday Parade today. Both Bands are Fantastic & both do a Superb Job in their Parades today.
It's a real Treat to see the Royal Marines Band & The Navy come to London & lovely to see the Veterans too, All Marching together & doing the RN Proud. Like all the Veterans Marching today, the Gentlemen & Ladies of the RN (Retired) Show they Still Have it & the Pride that Shines out of them is Great to See. Well Done Gentlemen & Ladies of the Seas, take a Bow!
It really is a Special Sight, The Band, the Cadets (The New Boys), the Currently Serving Men of the Sea & The Veterans (The Old Boys) all Marching Together. This is the Epitome of the Circle of Service to your Country. It's Never Broken & That's Why "NO ONE DOES IT LIKE THE BRITISH".

How refreshing to have a sensitive bass drummer playing dynamics
Different bands all sound different, household cav dismounted band does the same. The foot guards bands always hammer the bass drum
