My beautiful 21 year old boy was accepted into the Marines, where his grandad and uncles served, but two days after he died after a work accident. His name was/is Paul Lee, i just wanted to post his name.
I am a Brit Para and we know that this is the finest military band in the world bar none. The turn out is always exceptional and the drill is superb and always great tunes but the drums, stirs the heart. By god there are days when its great to be a Brit.
Omg the British Royal Marines . I think they hardly lost a fight in 300 years . Fierce proper soldiers . I think they had the fear drummed out of them . Unbelievable training . Can you imagine the British marines and the Gurkhas coming at you . 😱
The Queen looking out over her balcony "here come my boy's" she has got to be the proudest woman alive with all her military personnel. Can you even imagine looking out of your bedroom window and seeing this marching down your road just for you? Mind blowing stuff from everyone involved.
What a privilege it is to belong to the commonwealth 🤔👍.... and to have our communities honoured by our militaries.. the disciplined young me and women... following generations...🇳🇿

No marching band can ever better the sight of The Royal Marines. The uniforms, the dressing, and the music, are the best ever.A wonderful sight. And those Drum Majors are second to none. The Marines leave the Household Bands for dead.
They have a high standard and not anybody gets into a band straight away, they have to qualify first after a number of years. They are the best and keep those standards high. Even the USMC band when marching with them as guest visitors, march a hell of a lot better and they even swing their arms higher........
I'm am so relieved these chaps were on our side during two world wars in the bloodiest century in world history. I hope we always will be allies in the conflicts to come. With deepest respect and admiration from the United States.

Marched many a time to the beat of the Royal Marines Band, I was just a stocker in the Royal Navy but I felt a real sense of pride when turned out to March with these guys.
I love the British Military Bands and Marches, they stir a patriotic spirit within though I am Australian by birth my Father came from Birkenhead in the 1930s where he worked in the ship building yards, God bless Her Majesty and the British people for the life and freedom we enjoy today.

One of the joys of serving on the Aussie Flagship the carrier H.M.A.S. "Melbourne" in years gone by- when we did voyages of any length we always had the "Band" with us. Entering a foreign port as we "manned ship" with the Band playing as it surfaced on the flight deck via the lift well is something i shall always remember- goosebumps stuff!
Remember them at the RM School of Music, Deal, Kent. They lead the town's carnival and were definitely the main event, absolutely Brilliant!! I'm from an RAF family, but still think the Royal Marines Band is the best military band we have.
i remember being in the royal marine cadets as a drummer playing in the naval parade every year through our town and being very proud of how smart our band were they always had us at the rear off the parade, save the best for last lol i also remember the hard work drilling and practice we put in hrs hrs of work, was it worth fuck yeah especially when you here the crowds shouting here come the marine band at last

The British Royal Marines are a serious serious fighting machine . You would not want to fight this lot in a straight fight. Far too professional with training and tradition. Just ridiculously good .
I was on Horse Guards for the ceremony and therefore not able to see the full march off to barracks. Great to see it. They are PERFECTION in every respect.
I was in the Navy and the only times we marched after boot camp was while I was stationed in Naval air facility Mildenhall England for their remembrance parades. Great times
I've always been proud of the fact that my maternal granddad was a Royal Marine band master at Portsmouth's Eastney barracks and taught at the RM school of music. I was told that he used to entertain Queen Victoria on his clarinet at Osbourne House on the Isle of Wight. I know I'm biased but still think they're the best.

I always remember the story of an American sailor looking over the side of his ship and down at a Royal Navy destroyer moored alongside , he said to the British sailor what,s it like to be in the second largest navy in the world , the British sailor replied pretty good what,s it like to be in the second best, Rule Britannia.

Just a little footnote to your reply my uncle served on HMS Papua or K588 an American built ship i think she was a frigate but i am not sure , he was a on a visit to the British ship when the comment was made again i am not sure about the 2 ships involved , i have written proof of this incident in his war diary unfortunately he is no longer with us having passed away approx, 20 years ago.

Right on Tom Brydson..I had the opportunity to see the Royal Marines massed bands many years ago during a holiday in Britain. Definitely a highlight of my life. There is not a military band anywhere to compare with their excellence.

Right on Tom Brydson..I had the opportunity to see the Royal Marines massed bands many years ago during a holiday in Britain. Definitely a highlight of my life. There is not a military band anywhere to compare with their excellence.

John Adams not to mention the British forces largely influencing the current American forces today. E.g. the green berets have that name after the Royal Marines green beret and also all special forces are based of of the first regiment of special forces to most relatable to today which was the SAS. Can eve say that the catapult system you have on your boats was a British invention and most military technology was British invented
