A few things regarding the scales. At the start when it was saying 18.888, that was its calibration cycle. It takes longer to complete that while you're moving it around. I'm pretty sure that you just cancelled the calibration when you pressed off. It was also showing 5 grams because you tipped it off balance, which is pretty common. The tin of beans only contains 425 grams of beans, the other 80-odd grams was the tin and label. Lastly, that dock would really only be for recipe podcasts/videos. From what I can see of it, while not top quality, it seems to actually be quite a practical idea for someone fucking around in the home kitchen (at least it was when iPod classics were a thing).

I used to work at two food factories, and at both places we would pack just slightly more than the indicated mass on the packaging with the scales zeroed with an empty container to make sure the customer always got the same or more than what they were promised.

That first gadget is a nice sounding filter. Definitely not a “mixer” but actually sounds quite cool. The crackly bits you demonstrated would sound nice and lofi-ish in the right context. Being that it doesn’t actually need an iPod to work, just the six input, it would actually be useful as a tool for music production.

For some reason people freak out when you mess with power connectors. They seem to forget that other than voltage it's just two pieces of metal sometimes 3 unless you're using American 220 but we only use that for appliances.
Scales typically won’t be accurate if it’s not flat. Also that’s the weight of the contents in the can since you don’t eat the can. At least I don’t.
I think when you first boot up a scale it self calibrates and sometimes it is negative kilograms when turned on sideways
