    About:
Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band’s first tour in 10 years ended with an emotional series of 10 concerts at New York’s famed Madison Square Garden. Live In New York City, featuring performances from the last two nights of that tour (chronicled partially in an Emmy Award-winning HBO special), captures “the heart-stopping, pants-dropping, house-rocking, earth-quaking, booty-shaking, love-making, legendary E Street Band” as Bruce and his blood brothers embarked on an exciting new musical chapter together. Now, for the first time, this magical program comes to CZcams in its entirety for fans new and old to experience.

This was my mother's favourite Bruce Springsteen song. Moved her to tears every time she listened to it. When she was lying in palliative care with metastatic breast cancer, my Dad played this song on a laptop by her bedside. I first heard this song a few months before I found out that I was getting divorced. From that time, I had my angry songs (two in particular: Bruce - Backstreets and Foo Fighters - Monkey Wrench) but this was always my go-to for a more positive vibe. Nearly 5 years later this one still lifts me up and reminds me that eventually all that darkness will pass. I have never gotten to see Bruce / E Street but that should change in 2023 - looking forward to it and hope this one makes the set! ❤️❤️❤️

I've listened to this song thousands and thousands of times and it is so inspiring and brings me to tears the majority of the time...but it is the inclusiveness that brings me to tears...so many aspects of life jammed into one powerful moving song. My favorite thing to do is put my sunglasses on and go do yardwork and I'll listen to the song over and over again and cry all the way through. But, it gives me oxygen & sense of hope in a comforting way because when your down it feels like there is no space on the train. The Big Man Clarence Clemons drives the spirit of the song right through you.

I have been watching this non-stop for the past few weeks. This and other performances from the MSG series. Not only is this arguably one of my favorite Bruce songs, the PASSION in each and every member of the band's performance is incredible. Tears in my eyes throughout the whole song, but man when Max hits those drums at the end I can't hold it in any longer. He went full send on this one. A life long Bruce fan, so happy my Dad introduced me to him at such a young age.

2022 update: it is with a broken heart that I have to add to the original comments below, speaking not only for myself but for countless friends & (former) Boss fans, how utterly betrayed we feel by his partnership with Ticketmaster in 'dynamic pricing' for '23 tour..In his recent RS interview, the billionaire farm owner dismissed fans' cries about $600 nosebleed seats saying "if you didn't get your moneys worth you can get a refund after the show..." spoken like a true One-Percenter who has no clue how hard these times are, and how much his live shows have meant/would mean to struggling working class people. I am soon going to delete this message, as it no longer reflects my view of the 'artist formerly known as Bruce', but I do want to thank all those who took time to read my story. I will always treasure my live concert memories, but apparently tramps like ME are no longer welcome nor wanted aboard "this train." And no, not even great memories will allow him to, as the song says, "walk away from the price WE pay."
    #Vendu
(originally posted 2017) When Bruce opened his show with this at a 2012 show I was at, my first since the Big Man's passing, the complete stranger in front of me turned to me before the show and began chatting, and he told me this long story about how much this song meant to him & his dad..who, not long after the Big Man, had recently passed. I explained that my mom too had passed not long before Clarence did, & we bonded over the loss of a parent. When I told him I could see the set list from where I was sitting, & that this song was the opener, his eyes suddenly welled up, He said "I sure hope you're right." When the band broke into the opening chords, he turned around and reached out and gave me a big bear hug and was both crying and smiling at the same time. THAT is how powerful and great this song, band and artist are--I long ago forgot his name, but the memory of a stranger's pure joy all because of a song says all that needs saying. For that brief moment, we weren't 2 strangers..but 2 friends mourning loss AND celebrating Life. A pretty incredible memory.
