EDIT: Rest in Peace James Caan (1940-2022) ENGLISH SUBTITLES ARE AVAILABLE! James Caan absolutely kills it in this scene, and any scene he's in in this film really.
I love this movie. Severely underrated. Probably one of the best examples of a 'neo-western film noir' until No country for Old Men took that distinction. And of course James Caan is masterful in it.
@@starwarsroo2448 who knew when I made that comment that a month later the same comment would be a eulogy? You’re right. His acting was subtle and exact. One of the reasons I hate the Hollywood media is that the only way they talk about a major talent like Mr. Caan is when they die. You saw it a month ago with Ray Liotta. How about we celebrate these legends when they are still alive?
@@starwarsroo2448 well, I like DiCaprio but I was mainly talking about a Kardashian/Jenner. They are simply celebrities, socialites, debutantes who date, marry and procreate with actual stars. They are people who famous for what exactly I don’t know. The media harp on them for some reason. It’s tabloid crap. Caan would have been good to see on Inside the Actor’s Studio or The Hollywood Reporter’s Roundtable because it would be conversations about his craft as an actor, not his prowess as a “star.” But Caan was both.

Honestly I miss it. Everything now is so form fitting that there's no room to breathe. Might look better but it's uncomfortable, especially for men given that we need the extra room
The dialogue is unrealistic here, though. I've read countless true crime books, seen prison documentaries, or have encountered criminals in general and none talk like James Caan's character. This is a classic issue in movies where the characters are made to be overly articulate for roles that don't need that level of articulation. There are plenty of interviews of real hitmen and while some are a bit more articulate than others none of them talk in a manner this articulate or artistic. It's just not realistic.
@@damienholland9244 not gonna matter how well read you are on the subject because the world is to big of a place to make that call. That means is there are countless people out there that haven't been caught, or maybe have a higher intelligence than normal that just so have a knack for killing. For this type of character alone, his age and how long he's been in the game, him talking like this doesn't seem out of the ordinary.
Not sure where you're looking if you can't find it 'cause it's definitely in there (scroll down a bit and look at the movies he was in in 2000). That said, if you need a link: www.imdb.com/title/tt0202677/

RIP James Caan, always remembered for the obvious ones, yet in this movie he literally walked away with the film as the bag man
James Caan owned every scene, but everyone was cast perfectly. Love this movie
#RIP James Caan.
"Until that day..." 😪
“You a lawyer?”…”do I look like a fucking lawyer?” lol
Seriously underrated film.
Absolutely.
Good taste brother
hugely underrated movie. a modern noir classic
Seriously overrated film.
The dialogue is great but James Caan took it off the pages and makes it pop off the screen. It’s a great performance. A master actor.
Never comes across as overacting, just a pitch perfect portrayal of a character, that is only on screen for a few minutes at a time

Never seen this film, but it looks pretty good-RIP James Caan!
In my late teens this was my favorite film, even though I didn't fully understand it.
Same, why was Caan’s daughter carrying the baby?
Just a joy to watch James Caan work.
The opening scene of this movie is legendary.
"Heterosexual?"
The man dance scene, or the sperm bank scene?

Loved this movie.
And then, Mr. Jeffers, I will have my druthers, and I can promise you a day of reckoning you will not live king enough to never forget.
Same writer as The Usual Suspects
Which is also an excellent movie!

Somebody get Jimmy a chiropractor. Goddamn the way he doesn’t turn his neck is disturbing
He suffered from bad back surgeries over his later years from doing his own stunts back in the day.
This movie has such an amazing script.
Yes it does, some really great dialogue but tbf it's in the hands of a few great actors
Mike Ehrmantraut and Joe Sarno could literally conquer the universe.
Ha ha ha ha ha - as long as it was a movie
yeah yeah with adult diapers and a lot of smell of pee

That’s what I tell these young punks about me- this broken down older man is a SURVIVOR !!!

A very good film, all the way around.
Hidden gem doesnt even cover it.
No I don't think, nor do I assume speculate or hypothesize.... I said that shit for years! Love this movie and Jimmy Caan RIP.
Its tought to see his son tied down to such bad writing on his show. He is a great actor too.

just movie bullshit, nothing more.
Why does he move like batman
neck problems
Wtf was wrong with Caan's neck in this movie?
No one talks like these guys in a conversation and expects to be taken seriously.
Did James caan injure his neck prior to filming?
No, hes playing the part. Joe Sarno has a scar on his neck, implying a past injury. Its especially relevant in regards to his last line in this clip.
Cannot find this movie in imdb under James Caan section. I need help. Anyone?
