I'm an older AK amputee. Before I lost my leg I could barely stand up with both legs. I became motivated to walk again after my amputation. I can now stand quicker and easier with one leg than I could with both.
My father used to say, "Can't never could. Won't, never would."
If this guy can go through life missing both legs, I can go through life with them. Goddamn inspiration.
I'm not sure how or why the algorithm (Universe) placed me here... but I'm glad it did. This guy is AWESOME!

My physical therapists started me on desensitization exercises 3 days post surgery. I'm a year on and have perfected my Pennywise crawl and in line for an appointment with the prosthetist. Cheers, y'all! 🧓🤗❤️

@iprophecy6768 I've had trouble with the leg for 31 years and in February I got an infection that went to the bone, and instead of getting the fusion cleaned and more of the ankle fused I opted to have it removed, have my casting appt. on wednesday
I have one above and one below, so walking on them is out of the question for me. The good news is I get my prosthetics next month! Can't wait!!

I'm considered a bilateral amputee born missing both legs and the knees down I walk and work on my stumps my entire life I'm 50 years old this year I can walk across gravel driveways with nothing more than a couple socks on no hardened sleeve or anything you are correct you have to continue no matter how bad it hurts to build a callus on the bottom of the stump

Amen brother, I'm a lifetime bilateral TKD, I go hiking in my stubbies which are different than yours, mine are just a short foam socket that I don't wear any liners with. I think of them more like slippers. Still wear my full leg prosthetics too but without end bearing I wouldn't be nearly as active as I am.
I also wear sub ischial sockets so they only come about halfway up my thighs and I end bear most of my weight. Much better range of motion.

It’s called determination and if you want to feel sorry for yourself and sit in a flat of your ass you can do that no nobody’s gonna help you you can’t take you to drink water if you don’t wanna drink it so if you want to feel good about yourself you have to push yourself. Yeah it hurts but it’ll go away and you become stronger because you want it you want your independence I’m 75 years old and I have artificial shoulders I can’t use the wrist I have trouble with pins and rods in my feet, but I have a garden I have flowers I love being outside I’m not a quitter I have a little dog I take her for a walk. I walk a mile every day may take me a while to do it, but I do it, God bless you because you are very strong thank you God had plans for you and you one of his angels. Love you.

Hey bro, I have a BKA what would you recommend for desensitizing that since I can’t walk on my stump? If it cured your phantom pain I’m am about trying anything. My pain is out of control most days.
Do you live in Western WA? I swear I saw you at Costco getting gas a week or two ago...
Does stump shape govern if you can walk on stumps or not? A friend had double femoral in Canada and the surgeon was glad he didn't ask for "walkable stumps" so he could do a simpler surgery (dumb I know)
