- In depth 8 part series on how prosthetic sockets are made for an individual with limb loss. Specially, in this case, a bilateral above knee (knee disartic) by Dream Team Prosthetics in Duncan Oklahoma. Self filmed, edited and narrated by patient for life lol Limb Loss Boss. This series shows start to finish steps in the fitment and fabrication process of prosthetic sockets, and the end user walking on new legs!! #limblossboss #myleglesslife #dreamteamprosthetics #prosthetic #prosthetics #interesting #howitsmade #howitworks #cool
Came across one of your videos on CZcams...the one with you jumping out of your truck to kick his ass and I wasn't expecting you to change to your short legs...was so funny I had to watch more of them absolutely fabulous to see you getting on with life and taking care of your family...TOTAL RESPECT to you..looking forward to seeing more videos 😊..
Cheers Dean in the UK 🇬🇧
Identical thing here, except I live in US. I am a double amp, and i must have shared that Short with 20 people. A classic.
I'm a tech at a prosthetics company, I get to do this every day and it's awesome!
I like seeing the little differences in how other companies make their end product, and the small differences in parts used as well, different pyramids and stats adaptors etc.
Cool stuff. It's a fun and rewarding job for sure.
It looks like an interesting career path. Mine is from Martin Bionics. Have you heard of them? Do you have an opinion about the company? I've heard mixed reviews about them. I'm new to this but my experience so far has been great. They make adjustable sockets to eliminate the need for adding and removing socks throughout the day. They also manufacture on site so the turn around is much faster than companies that use a third party.
@@jay_tripp I'm west coast, so I haven't heard of Martin but a quick search looks like they're the same type of orthotic and prosthetic company as ours. Their Google reviews seem good enough. Being a local company to that area, regardless of reviews, you're going to get much better results and care planning than you would with the national corporate companies namely The Hangar.
I make the adjustable sockets pretty often as well, using the BOA system (ratcheting cable wheel that loosens and tightens as needed), though they don't work for everyone.
On site fabrication is your #1 marker of quality of the facility in this industry. Central fab is fine for small generic things but when it comes to a fully customized device if it's not made on site the care quality just slips and slips. Not many companies do in house fabrication anymore either so you've already got a one up, and sounds like you'll be well taken care of :).
Love the way you make fun of yourself.
I always say "if you can't laugh at yourself, you can't laugh at anyone"
day 2 of humbly requesting the limb loss boss to allow me to make him a suit of dwarven power armor.
Thank you! Your sense of humor combined with your daily struggles is amazing to see. Have no idea how you got here but love how you approach what is and have (hilarious) fun with it! The flip flops are 🤩!!!
So glad I’m only a BKA.
The research & development that go into our prosthetics is unbelievable
Thank you for sharing your testimony and continue to move forward with your prosthetic legs. 😎🇺🇸
It's really awesome to see the work and care they put in!
Congrats on new prosthetics. I am going through this exact procedure now for both legs. I am wearing the temps now. If the final product is almost as good as temps, I know I will be thrilled. thanks for sharing, brother.
I've only seen it done w the plaster apparus casting that's my favorite part of getting a new leg
Это очень важная информация о всех процессах. Карбоновые ноги очень крутые!!!💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪
Nice brother im glad you can walk again 🫡

Thank you for sharing this video. 🙏
I learned a lot. Awesome video
I keep having moments of "wow these guys are really just rubbing on his legs like that in front of him" lol
Mate, they are cool legs.
Very cool.
Man, you are a King and an inspiration. Love You. Ps: you should start yoga, I see you have a real talent.
Feel silly that I didn't think about this sooner.
Anyway, as easily as you have fun with short prosthetics, you could also make yourself a threatening height.
Wow. Love u!!
I’m bout to get a new prosthetic this month. My 2nd on since September ‘23
I'm new subscriber and I love your content! ❤ My 55yo male roommate also likes watching your shorts! 😊
My roommate asked me to ask you; how you lose your legs? 😅 He also said that it's awesome that you didn't lose will to live after losing your legs and he hopes you the best in life 😇
I was going to say this in your last video even though having no legs is not the best they look cool and you don’t get cramps so you can walk for miles and your legs won’t hurt plus can’t feel pain.
just git my definitive leg, below the knee left leg. between my prosthetics tech and therapist I can walk better then ever...
Woot! 🎉🎉
How do you make the first cast of your residual limb? The skin and muscle there seems quite floppy when you take everything off so wouldn’t you get a lot of space in the wrong places when you cast it?
This is what I do for a living, there's a couple ways it can be done with the initial eval casting.
One way would be to set on a stool or the edge of the exam table, with the other stump hanging relaxed pointed at the floor off the edge. Another would be to lay back on the exam table with the stump pointed at the ceiling. The prosthetist knows where pressure needs to be applied and will hold that part of the residual to create a basis to work off of. (When he says the socket gets all up in your business he ain't lying, we gotta get all up in your business to take the cast too)
Sometimes we put lipstick on the patients leg in the places we want to create pressure spots or reliefs, the lipstick sticks to the casting tape and then transfers to the plaster when it's poured! So when it comes my turn in the shop to modify things I can see exactly what is needed and where for each step.
That was cool!! I want to do that now! I'd like to do that as a job every day. That's a job with REAL meaning!
❤❤❤❤
how much does these cost total???
I need one for myself......
Nice video. Sounds like some good technology. But we’re you serious about only lasting 500 miles? Then I heard you say you work full time, seems like that would add up quick, like within a year quick.
I can't seem to find anything about how he lost his legs. I'm assuming it was because of an accident or from something like a medical condition/diagnosis. Regardless, I love how CZcams shorts, they're hilarious and motivational. Keep on keeping on. 👍
Это где находится?
how did u lose your legs and when
Watch his early videos to find out.
Hey buddy, I'll let you a short video play over and over and over and over while I watch the TV show called ghost I sure hope that helps you asked for us to do all that stuff to make sure that's how you get your prosthetics and other things, so I hope everything works and it runs up the ching ching on the salary, I don't know if you have to have a break like watch a video and then go back to Looping but we'll see....😊
Years ago, my uncle had two wooden, yes, wooden legs. He made money with his. He would go to his fav bar and throughout the night bet money he could kick a wall 20 feet away. Drunks would take his bet. Uncle would take his leg off and throw it against the wall. Laugh while taking their money. Yep, he also was not feeling any pain.
How costly theses prosthetic
Hey mate, I would like to interview you to see if that is okay. I am in Australia and would like to talk to you over discord or zoom and send a survey to you with some questions. I know this is a random comment, and straight out of left field, this isn't a scam and I am not trying to sell you anything. I am connecting you for a pet project I am working and would love to have your personal input in it.
Regards Dananjay
I'm gonna keep this in mind if I lose a leg or two, with how unhealthy my body is and my family history of disease and cancer it's likely to happen.
My limb looks not like your limb.
You were picking your butt. You were
