FoodPanda is an unflexible platform compared to Grab and Deliveroo. Impossible targets to achieve for bicycle & ebike riders. You select an area to perform your delivery tasks e.g. Jurong East and the delivery locations are not necessarily in your area. You may end up in Bukit Timah, CCK, Jurong West. Good luck riding back at the end of the shift when you are already tired. The batch system sucks.

The aunty is right thou, these gig job really have no future, it is good as a part-time job for a short period thou. This video is sponsored by Foodpanda so they would only mention the upside but not the downside. Those years on working as delivery would also meant losing the experience and skillset you could get in other job. What would happen if these few food delivery companies reduce their incentive? Take reference to the Grab and Uber era, who offer high incentive to driver in order to gain market share. When Uber leave Singapore market, Grab reduces their incentive significanlty. There are only a handful of delivery who offer decent incentive (Grab, Foodpanda, Deliveroo), if two of these companies close down, do expect a much lower incentives.

Agreed no future. Routine job no improvement in skill or knowledge. What is the stepping stone Sulaiman referring to?

My friend left his white collar job to drive grab in the heydays when grab was paying 4-5k a month for relatively short hours.
5 years on he has yet to recover from this decision

U should ask our ministers who is in charge of wage progression model to take part in this session as food delivery and after 1 to 3 days of work, the mp themselves will have better understanding, feeling and thoughts what should be an more justifiable salary package with insurance n medical for our food delivery guys. Not forgetting why never invite the ceo, cfo and marketing and hr staff of this organization food panda to involved in this too with their delivery man to better understand and give more justifiable pay package. That's would be a more meaningful walk the talk leadership to their own company..

Delivery is a gig job, not a perm job. If you want those benefit, get a perm job. Most gig job (including contract-based job) are not entitled to the same benefit given to the perm job within the same coy.

@@badboi888 As human, as long as it is a legal job to earn a living, every human should be protected and giving fair and justified pay and insurance. They are travelling on the road or pavement, rain n sun, why they should not deserve a more decent treatment. They are human too.. And being the ceo n having the ability to buy gcb, that's mean u r earning abundantly a lot yourself but u do not reward more for your delivery guy, does any god ask u this is the way to treat another humanity, where u r filtery rich and ur delivery man pitifully paid. There must be a more justifiable pay simply.
