So I've been living in France for almost 2 months now and documenting my life here ! With the second wave of covid and all the new restrictions, it's not all butterflies and rainbows. But still I'm glad I went through with the decision to move to a new country. Despite the opportunities being limited due to the pandemic and feeling very lonely at times, I'm still discovering so much and collecting priceless experiences...so I think it's worth it 😌

Girl same, I moved to the UK for uni and was absolutely fine. Didn’t even feel homesick or alone. The next year I did an Erasmus exchange in Paris and it was probably the toughest year of my life. I think maybe bc in the uk I had flatmates around all the time and in Paris I was in a studio on my own. It was hard to make friends with my french classmates as well and struggled to adapt to the french education system. It was such a tough time for me but I wouldn’t change it for the world. It gave me time with myself, and as cliche as it sounds I think being completely on your own does confront you with your true self stripped down of everything else. Hope your time in France has been lovely. I have enjoyed watching your vids and reminiscing over my time over there.
Wouldn't be a very honest "moving to a new country" doc if there aren't a few lonely tears here and there 🙃🙃

I've moved several times to new places where I had no friends and one place was a foreign country. What I discovered was that the best way to quickly form new friendships is to join some sort of organization or club. You have to choose one that is doing something really interests you, or it won't work. For me it is always art in general or photography more specifically. Wherever I go I seek out the "arts" people. Covid complicates things. It has screwed up everyone's life, but the club that I am in now still meets using Zoom.
Good luck. You are not alone in feeling the way you do. Most of my friends are depressed and lonely. It will pass.

Just reading our new restrictions here in Italy, and yes I'm being egoistic, but the gym was the only aspect keeping me sane since June, when the gyms opened after the lockdown ! Everything seams so gloomy right now ! loving your vlogs and yes keep them reeeal, big hug :)

I live in Sweden, in Sweden I find every place boring, cold, dark and depressing (I don’t even like swedish food) except Stockholm and France really match my vibe more with the view and style and French food is just for me thats like the only thing I like to eat Pasta, Pizza, Salami...

November has been so difficult in France but now it seems that things are getting better. I can just emphatise with you cause during the first half of the year I was studying in Melbourne it was like a huge project I had and all my classes turned online as well and I was quite lonely. I came back to France some months ago now but I completely understand what you're going through ! Feel free to send a message if you want to chat ! :(( I feel you. What helped me is forcing myself to go to social occasions and events even if I'm not super down for them, and I end up surprising myself and have a pretty good time and meet at least one person that I vibe with and ends up having a place in my life !

So QUESTION: I saw on France24-Eng that French students are very unhappy and protesting, esp since many losing their jobs. I was wondering: what is the govt support for an ordinary French student? In Australia a person who is unsupported by parents and has no job, will get AUSTUDY and rent assistance of 195 (Euros) pw. What do they get in F? I have French friends in Australia and love French culture. I worry about these French students!
