  • My thoughts on two Wancher Fountain Pens: the True Ebonite in brown marble and the Sekai Aizu Urushi in Sandalwood. Both are basic models with Jowo #6 steel nibs. Wancher offers various upgrades and options. I bought these directly from Wancherpens.com and they ship from Japan. They arrived 5 days after purchase via UPS. Excellent experience overall.

Hi Terry... Thank you for introducing me to a new brand of pen. I visited the website and enjoyed seeing the individual artists bios as well as the pens they craft. I think of the two that you reviewed I like the urushi the best, the looks I mean.
The website does provide a lot of information.
I noticed that many of their higher end pens, $600 and up, are out of stock. I didn't check to see if they could be pre-ordered.
The top of the line price...$2,800, according to the catalog. Those are all sold out.
I don't know what their production volume is, being handmade, but it looks like they're in high demand.

Hi, Jan. They seem to have something for just about everyone. Lots of variety in their offerings and prices.
