I don't usually start these conversations because it usually starts a shitstorm, but I think this one needs clarification. 'Don't make me a sex object' doesn't mean you should try to control attraction, because nobody can do that. It means to make an effort not to see a woman as just an object to be used instead of an actual person. You probably don't do that so this meaning didn't occur to you. Not sure if you picked this up, but when a character looks to the side this episode they are basically wondering “is she buying this?” Everyone already knew what the guy was saying at the end, they just wanted to pretend that they didn’t so they could blame their actions on some outside sources so they wouldn’t get in trouble.
