Welcome to the Dreamworld! Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip out your spine when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉
Boca means "mouth" in Spanish and Portuguese (but you already knew that, hehe) and is part 2 of the Dystopia trilogy, which deals with bullying and hate comments, in particular the online variant ("A trick behind a mask, a ridiculous freak" from Scream). Boca has the lines "Why do you fill your precious time with hate" and "Too many angels dying now", which points to the effects those comments can have. Several Kpop idols have committed suicide in recent years, most likely because of cyber-bullying, but this is also about all the unnamed people who suffer from online bullies. A girlgroup tackling such a subject impresses the hell out of me. They literally go to war in this video and tell haters to go and shut their "Boca" in the lyrics. And the song is absolutely awesome! Who said you can't have three different musical genres in one song?

Insomnia are just about always positive and polite 1) because of the example members set and 2) they literally made a song promising to shut our mouths for us if we ever say negative things. A common nickname is Musclecatcher no one wants to test them.

Thank you for the reaction! I'm glad you enjoyed the song, Dreamcatcher is definitely a one-of-a-kind group inside of the k-pop industry. Their title tracks always include rock elements in them, to very different extents, but you can also find a great variety of genres on their b-sides (rock, edm, pop, funk, jazz, r&b, ballads...).
And they have songs with great messages as you just saw, like the Dystopia trilogy ('Scream', 'Boca', 'Odd Eye') addressing topics like online hate and cyberbullying, or the Apocalypse trilogy ('Maison', 'Vision', 'Bonvoyage') raising awareness about climate change and how we are destroying our planet.

there's actually 7 members; one was just absent for this song/video because she got stuck in china during the pandemic and travel restrictions. dreamcatcher has a lot of interesting songs and usually have uplifting messages or themes addressing current day issues in the world. boca is part 2 of their 'dystopia' trilogy which addresses some of the negative aspects of the internet and social media. the dystopia trilogy may have been inspired by a series of very high profile singer suicides in korea in the years preceding its release, some directly linked to negative online interaction.

@@SaeedReacts. In summary the Dystopia trilogy is Scream, Boca, Odd Eye (covering bullying, hate comments, and false promises online respectively) about how language is used to harm others. They are each fusions of different genres of music but they are also all Dreamcatcher Genre.
The fun part is they are all great vocalists and do songs in every genre because they can so randomly playing Dreamcatcher will get you headbanging, a mid-tempo vibe song, or crying to a very emotional piano ballad. Switching between soft and heavy is normal for them and a few of their songs cause crying WHILE headbanging, which is also Dreamcatcher genre. 😁
Two of the angels the song refers to are Goo Hara and Sulli, two Kpop Idols who were driven to take their own lives in 2019 by vicious bullying on the internet. Dreamcatcher released Scream, the first song in the Dystopia trilogy, about 3 months after the deaths. The entire trilogy, Scream, Boca, and Odd Eye, deals with the toxic aspects of social media and the internet. Cyberbullying is particularly dangerous in Korea since the traditional culture is a shame culture. Being falsely accused and lied about in public is deeply shameful and can be fatal. Sua, the main dancer who sings that line, is a close friend of one of Sulli's close friends. She spoke about how her friend adopted Sulli's cat after she died.

Since this is the 2nd part of the trilogy it'd be nice to reacto to Scream (1st part) first and then Odd Eye (3rd part).
